do not underestimate Ron Wood, he´s not Taylor, he will never be, no one will be like Mick, but in his way Ronnie is an extraordinary musician. e.g. his solo on You Can`t Always get What You Want (Love You Live) is one of my all time favourite guitar art works. And "Some Girls" without Wood would maybe suck; who knows?
i spend many hours practicing this solo just like mick tayler played it and i heard a few tones different; at 2:30 isnt the tone after the bending on the b-string (on the same frat)? Why do you slide so high at 2:15? Are you sure he bends at 1:58? And where did you take the tones at the end from? I could never listen so far...
@rafaultimate69 Jagger plays the rhythm in open G; Taylor does the leads and slide in standard tuning. He very rarely used open tunings. Not sure why Jagger used open G, but since Richards doesn't play on this cut, maybe he just picked up a guitar lying around in the studio.
Its so good to see someone appreciate the guitar playing on Sway. Most Stones fans I've met don't seem too bothered with Sway. But its an incredible song. It truly is an amazing solo that Mick plays. Its my favourite MT solo that he played on record with The Stones. Cheers.
Your very good.
