wow that bring back memoreys used to fix these thing but from memory the pulsators used to be steel in this model interesting the date you stated for these i was trying to work out how long our family had been fixing machines dad used to sell these new
@fairhillnorrie amen! I personally think the machine manufacturers and detergent manufacturers are in cahoots to make us spend more money that needed. The detergent doesn't work... so so we think... we put more in... which kills the washer... vicious circle.
I used to have one of the "descendants" of this machine, a twin-tub Hoover. Same agitation method, that underwater propeller. I found that overloading lead to some serious snags and tears from enforced contact with the propeller, but normal sized loads did quite well. And, frankly, I thought it was great fun to use and to watch. So is this one! Thanks for posting.
I have the toy version of this Hoover, it has a handle to crank the little agitator and the wringer works by handle. I used to wash handkerchiefs with it when I was a child. :) It must be around 50 years old.
How much laundry can you load in there before the wash action stops being effective? I've always imagined you couldn't wash that much in one of these machines at a time without losing its effectiveness...
No, this was the one made before the big red stop button was built into the machine (it also had the electric mangle on the top) as well as a built in heater. This machine does not have either, the mangle is hand powered, there is no heater or on and off buttons. You just plug it in the socket and it starts up.

What is that ,,beep,, sound in the back? It had no stop button, but it had a sound signalization? :) I like the machine!

Washers aren't really my thing, but this is perhaps the one machine I'd want for my collection! :)
