What happened?

Did you only feed it dry food. Studies show that it is better feed cats the wet food more than dry food because the dry food contains more wheat and other plants than meat. A cat is more of a carnivore while a dog is an omnivore. Wet food usually has more meat than dry food.

Cats can eat some plants, but meat is their main thing.

Reminds me of when my sister got a kitten, my mom didn't like cats much until then. I'd call her to talk about stuff and she always had to tell me the latest antics of the kitten, one of them was chasing and taking rides on the mop when Mom would mop the kitchen floor. She would tell me she could have put the kitten in another room, but it was too much fun to watch this.
