I believe that Radian1991 might be right. Take a look at 0:51. You'll see a church that displays, right under the cross, the Communist red star. So it is quite likely that in Orissa there is some kind of collaboration between Christians and Maoists, due perhaps to the fact that both hate Hindus and Hinduism.
I know that, in theory, Christianity and Marxism are at odds with each other. But on a local level strange alliances do happen.

If you're going to go into poor areas with aid - it should be done by secular organisations so that the whole community is developed.

We Hindus Love to live with Muslims,Christians etc.We dont have any problem with any of these communities.But only if they do two things.
1.Christians must stop conversion[Not all christians do conversion but all who do conversion are Christians]
2.Muslims must stop their becoming terrorist[Not all muslims are terorists but all terrorists were muslim once ]
If these two things are done, These Hindu communal forces will never raise their voice.They will become silent forever.

A christian is one who follows Christ, i.e who shares the basic commandment of Christ and believes in witnessing. the thing that many of the Hindu friends consider as conversion. But to tell you the truth, we dont intend to convert anyone, its the GOSPEL of JESUS CHRIST which we approach with , let us say, to you, and if you choose to follow Christ which the other Hindus term it as Conversion because for them that is their understanding without reading BIBLE.

These converting people came to my house also once. We are educated and gave them what they want . after that .. i couldnt see any of those persons coming to my place. The only difference is poor still remain as poor but missionaries get cash for increasing their count In India

ideally it should be a personal decision and one that should not be interfered by anyone but evidently the opposite happens... tribals continue to be forced into a situation where they either convert to hinduism or christianity... and in the process they lose their centuries old tradition and collective identity

good to see this video on our state Orissa and nice to hear Gilmour's voice... but one correction Kondhs are not hindus unless they have converted... Their religion dates beyond Hindu religion... and the first shots of people demonstrating seem to be from our neighboring state Andhra! The hindu fundamentalists and Christian missionaries exchanging charity with conversion should refrain from exploiting marginalised communities... the violence is the handiwork of some right wing politicians..
