  • i think this the visuals are so tacky and dreadful but I love the musical score.

  • Boy I Miss Peabo Bryson with that opening.

  • One Life To Live's BEST theme...so beautiful!

  • This was the BEST Opening for One Life to Live...The show's producers should have left this in place. The OLTL opening subsequent to this one was merely a rip-off of Another World's mid-1990's opening. This opening, with its dream-scape graphics, had real appeal and it's synth-electro-pop score was well done...

  • @gspinc1 I don't think so, this opening pales in comparison to it's both predecessor(12/30/1991) and successor(11/20/1995). It gets tiring very quickly and by February 1992 was called pornographic.

  • @Carmaker1 yes it was indeed a porn opening. In later years, I called it a "rape opener," because of the beginning part of these visuals. It may not have been so bad if it was just the satin sheets with cast images over it....but what we got was just...OY!

  • @gspinc1 I have to agree with Carmaker1. I actually love this theme score here but I feel that the one Peabo Bryson sings earlier & the later more uptempo score both, with actor shots were better as far as the vibe of the show itself. Bringing this theme in after a character gets shot or bursting in on something committing wrong-doings brings the vibe down some, while the others simply kept up the vibe of the suspense, to me. But, it IS a nice score! :)

  • Not a fan of the "satin sheets" intro.

  • I loved this opening very much. This is the year that I had started watching OLTL. Fall 1993. I love this song what is the name of it? Was the set of blue eyes Fiona Hutchison on this opening?

  • This sort of opening would have never used regular cast members, especially at the risk of them leaving at any time. These were random actors not associated with OLTL.

  • Happy 43rd Birthday, One Life To Live!

  • Carmaker1, you can hear old man Bill Rice's voice at the end of the video, as he was about to voice a sponsor tag. It got cut off, though, because you could only hear the phrase "one life to live."

  • I thought this opening was kinda corny.

  • Even if OLTL never aired here in the Philippines...the theme reminds me so much of those old local daytime soaps and telenovelas airing back when I was still a kid.

  • @jlhabitan50 are you a filipino & u know OLTL

  • @CosmoCosma10 Yep

  • this opening was lame. tacky. obvious. the theme song "here's what you do when you don't find the rainbows..."

    ...THAT was classic.

  • Now that's the opening I remember as a child

  • This is the best opening this show ever had and the producers recently brought it back but stupidly without the original dreamy musical score....The dream-scape video sync'ed to the sythn-techno-synphonic score work so well together. The OLTL musical score is odd and unmemorable and does not work well with the satin sheets video....

  • I really like this opening, wish they'd go back to something classic like this!

  • The synthesizer reminds me of "Poker Face" by Lady Gaga.

  • Comment removed

  • I consider this the best opening that they have ever had except for the original fireplace opening. I liked that the best actually. They should go back to the 1968,1969,1970'd fireplace. Loved that.

  • Are they really going to do away with one life to live? If they do, I wonder what's going to happen to all my children.

  • How did this intro slide past the ABC censors? It's a little too sexy for 2PM.

  • My favorite opening. Boy meets girl; instant chemistry, they fall hard and too fast for each other, then breakup. He returns and they get together, the right way this time, with maturity and lessons learned; get married and start a family. Just my interpretation.

  • I hated this opening. It sucked. I could not believe that got rid of the Tour of Llanview opening that showed all of the characters on the show for this filth!

  • oh how this show was back then. I wish that it would be this way again. everyone knows that you should NOT mess up something good. Didn't GUIDING LIGHT teach these people a lesson.

  • I remember this opening, even though I was so young at the time.

  • Loved this

  • This opening was when OLTL was good!! Hell yeah I love this opening...show was alot than this new one.

  • The storyline to this opening is actually not as awkward as some suggest. It's a story of an illicit affair among youth, then betrayal and isolation, followed by a reunion and reconciliation that ends in love and family.

  • Really Bryan?! I thought it was about a couple in love but then they broke up. Then they got back together and had a family. Hmmm.

  • Never was a big fan of this opening. I was so glad when they got rid of it. Why the cool 80s opening w/ the PB song was scratched I'll never know.

  • I never understood why this opening confused people. It's great. It's Romantic which the show was going for at the time. I just don't understand why this opening wasn't liked.

  • I liked it. I wish they still had this opening. Its original & fits way more than the one they have now.

  • @debro2009debro I'm glad they removed it as my favorite replaced it.

  • @debro2009debro -- This is the one I remember! Wow, how time flies!

  • I refer to this as the OLTL "Porn" opening.

  • jajaja I agree, total porn!

  • This is my favorite OLTL open because it fits with the romance of the soap operas very well.

  • I remember just being like 10 and for some reason started watching this show on my own and liking the music and this theme. Nice memories dunno why they changed it:(

  • Does anyone know the name of the song? I kinda like it.

  • Still is one of the most bizarre soap openings

  • I agree with docgirl2009, this opening is just a bit confusing. I know its a story tale od typical soap opera moments, but it's just too weird. I'm waiting for some "Simpsons" reponse from Homer to say something like "What the hell was that?"

  • D'oh!

  • I don't get this opening. The Loving opening made more sense. But this brings me back to my childhood when I use to watch OLTL with Viki's personalities. Thanks for uploading it.
