You know after 21 years since Stevie left this world it's like a two way door watching this. It's unbelievable to watch him today and remember how great he was - so much better than anyone else, but it still breaks me heart that he's no longer with us. There have been so many guys who have tried to be Stevie since, but no one has come close, and nobody ever will. Well, at least God has the greatest guitar player of all time in his band up there.
My lord !!! Have any of you actually sat down and tried to figure this one out ?? It's gonna be a rough one to crack . The man was from a different planet . Different wave length
@elcottonball Maybe we're speaking of a different strat here but SRV used to have a blonde one just like that which neck was used to replace Number one' neck after it was broken in a strange accident shortly before Stevie died
@voxsoundpro no, that was guitar was named "scotch" because of its butterscotch color. It had three pickups. This is a pure yellow strat with only one pickup, the neck pickup. It was stolen from stevie around 1983 or 84.
@Death90ism Montreaux must be a rough crowd. I have a recording of John Coltrane performing "A Love Supreme" in its entirety there. Boos can be heard at the end of the set.
to say that the ass-wipes that were booing have no taste or class is an understatement !
i would have walked off & saved my talent & energy for those of us ( the majority) who appreciated it , but then again Stevie Ray Vaughn is the one who showed them what real class is !
Truly amazing. I never tire of hearing/seeing this performance. To this day, I don't understand the booing of such a superb musician, even if it wasn't "what they were expecting." My god, the man was brilliant!!!!!! Love you always Stevie.
@SRV4evr I read that the booing at this show was some stuck up Europeans who thought SRV was too loud, and did not like electric blues. Who cares!! He blew them away.
@ironmanboy There's no denying he was loud. Anyone who ever heard him play would acknowledge that. The crowd booed primarily because they were expecting more low-key, acoustic music. But why they weren't instantly enthralled with what they were witnessing, even if it wasn't expected, is something I'll never get. Fortunately, in the long-run his appearance in Montreux helped his career rather than hurt it. Yeah Stevie!!!
@SRV4evr Well said. I did get to see him play twice, it was loud and beautiful.
I will never forget that at the end of one show, when everyone was so hyped up, he sat on the edge of the stage and played Tin Pan Alley as the last encore. It was so unexpected, a counter to all the heavy playing. The crowd was so mellow after that, and we all left in a joyous daze.
@ironmanboy I can only imagine what that must have been like, you lucky person! I've loved Stevie and his music for years and years, but never had the privilege of attending a concert. What a musician.
Este concierto de Stevie es muy bueno. Toca el blues mejor que nunca, aunque el público de Montreux no valore su talento, y aún así Stevie hace de las suyas porque él es uno de los dioses de la guitarra, junto con Hendrix.
Does anybody know where I can find a tab for this song WITHOUT having to pay? I can't find one place that has it for free like every other tab. All I want to do is learn a song.
I think its completely ridiculous that some assholes are making money off SRV's tabs.
if i live to be a 100 years old i will always be amazed by SRV and will never grow tired of listening to his wonderful music and always be inspired by him and his life...
people who booed SRV could so and fuck themselves.
I can't boo anybody has more talent than me, in every genre. I don't think in the public there was one person who could play like Stevie, so they were a mass of shit
Down n dirty blues... LOVE IT! thx for the recordings Stevie
