hello my name is mike nad i am working on a low buget movie and i will like to leanr the art of mastering the stunt wire effects and such and other tip on how to edit them out .
Can you PLEASE make a tutorial on how to create the wire??? PLEASE! :) I really want to know! PLEEEEAAAASSE!!!! :) THANKS SOOOO MUCH!!!! :) Sorry for overreacting
This is just what I've been trying to make for upcoming xena movie. My parents aren't convinced it is very safe, but I've already bought some wire. I still need to buy a harness and a pulley and stuff. Did you guys just attach the wire to a tree? I'm not sure how to set up the pulley to the tree, do you have any tips on how to do that?
hey man these are absolutely amazing. i am starting to make movies with my mates. i was wondering if u cud plz tell me how u do this. send me the info on a pm would be brill. plz try i wud love to do it. in the pm cud u tell me hw much it will cost. what u need nd where to put it. thx. plz wrote back
I've been looking for something like this for a long time as well, I've just been hesitant cause of the risks involved. If you have a tutorial or a schematic for this I would love to get my hands on it.
I would love for you guys to make that tutorial. I have been scouring the net for anything on how to make a wire harness with side attachments and turned up nothing.
hi guys that looked so cool! :P Im a young director/ writer and i was really intrested to know how you would go about editing the wires out of the shot in production. Its probably a really stupid question lol soz but i just cant seem to find the answer anywhere. Would you need expensive CGI? Cheers
1) You use wire removal feature in Adobe After Effects, which you basically keyframe a line over the wire and AE will mirror a little to the left and a little to the right, covering up the wire (cable works best cuz its thinner and in sunlight sometimes cant even be seen)...or ... 2) Film with the camera locked on a tripod, film your wire stunts, then move everthing out of the way so as to get a blank scene, then you mask (or layer) part of the empty scene over the wires in the action scene.
you can also do it with a moving camera shot really easily using a motion control rig. same as locking on a tripod, just with movement that is perfectly repeatable.
What's going on?I am an independent action director and need some advice on use of wires in stunts. I'm not looking to have my characters fly around, just some effect. Having them get pulled back after a kick and such. What I'm struggling with is what exact materials I will need and HOW TO connect wire to actor and rig up the connection to the ceiling or whatever that provides the lift.
hey how did u do backflips using that like did u use n e thin special? and.... there is 2 ropes to each side of the harness how did they only go to one person , or was he holding 2 ropes as one, oh sorry how did u attach the rope to the harness? did u just tie it on?
im trying to make a movie too and id like to add some wire work plz help me out if possible
the materials used to make the contrapment, can I buy it at my local house ware stores or sport shops? Think it's possible of guys to make a tutorial on how to assemble it?
lets see: PVC pipe $1.00, climbing(rappelling rope) or any strong rope $40.00(depending on length/quality), 2 pulleys(can be cheap & strong)$20,homemade harness using frieght belts or long velcro/vinyl secured with duct tape $10. We already had this stuff laying around, so we only bought duct tape. Oh yeah, we used couch cushions for when training. Remember to resecure everything after doing several flips or twists because those weaken the ropes and connections or buy some swivels.

There are 2 different ways to do it, and sometimes you can combine both ways...
