I'm pretty sure that the xbox version could hold 8 or more people, because I've never played a level with 3 on a team.

Yeh I remember this game..I got on old xbox and STILL on old xbox and your right about the headset problems on Multiplayer same thing happened on xbox. My cousin told me it was headset connecttion lag (i.e.: sound volumes to high, lag, off tones etc)

In a sharpshooter or Survival match you cannot hear each other on the mic (in-game) unless you are close to (near) each other.

If you are doing Team Survival; then you cannot hear the other team, but you can hear anyone on your team (regardless of their distance from you).

Thanks for uploading this! it brings back alot of memories when i played it online. Do any of you remember the clans online such as Spirit_ & GB_ & WoW_ ? we are talking many years back now i think it must have been 2004 onwards and then when the xbox 360 got released it went downhill from then on as everyone got hooked on the ghost recon game. my first games on ps2 online were fifa 2004 and then socom 2 they were both amazing to play.

I was in the spirit clan spirit_tarrant was my name, and the creators were baretta and buffy who were belgium. we had quite a few english players in the spirit clan too like myself such as saint , rojasaga (and his kids). there was always tension between the GB clan and us mainly around the belgiums creators. the GB creator was GB_doggy (name may differ) he was dutch. can't recall the WoW clan names but whenever they played they played like pro's.

NOTE : not sure about LOCKDOWN but anyways you wont miss anything this game was garbage.

This one isn't the Xbox version, it's the PS2 version.

The Xbox version is a lot better online seeing as you can play up to 8 on 8 whereas the PS3 version is only 3 on 3 for some reason.

Ratchet 3 UYA (or just 3 in Europe) EU server has nostalgic players playing, usually British and Scandinavian players. I once saw 6 full games (8 players full, that makes 48 players)

I don't know much about the racing/sports games though.

Killzone's EU servers are 100% empty. Sometimes you can find 10-20 people in Jak X's EU servers. I heard the US servers went down.

Socom 3 EU always has 60-120 people playing, Socom Combined Assault has slightly more players online. Socom 2 EU server has some nostalgic players, once I saw 20 players in there.

Burnout 3 EU server is dead. That was a great game, the US server is still up 'n running with a few players.

I have been trying to find a decent sized match on burnout 3 online to play. It has been hard. The most people I have seen online was 3 other people besides me, but they decided to split into 2 separate games so it still wasnt fun lol. That game is very boring if you are just racing against one person online and needs at least 3 people in a race to be fun. Hopefully I can get into a game with 3 people and upload the footage. This game is very very fun offlline.

It doesn't have over a thousand people playing, but during peak hours it can have around 400 people playing it still which is very good for a non Socom PS2 online game.

IT usually has around 250-300 people playing at all times except for maybe in the early morning hours. Take into account that not everyone who plays the game is ever online at one time, and 250-300 could easily be twice that number of people who still play.

There are thousands of people who still play the PS2 online. most are still happily playing the Socom series, the rest are spread thinly across the rest of the games.

I can't speak for the sports games, but other games that are popular include Battlefield 2, Star Wars Battlefront 2, Killzone, and the Call of Duty series.
