As someone who has lived with an eating disorder for EIGHT FRICKIN' YEARS, it fucking pisses me off when people refer to this disease as a lifestyle and all that shit. This is so fucking ridiculous and infuriating. Now people can't wear a damn bracelet without girls like this thinking they're ANA or MIA.

Fuck this shit about Ana and Mia being people. Anorexia and Bulimia are diseases. Call them what they are and stop giving them these cutesy fucking names and calling them lifestyles.

Yes ana or mia can and may eventually kill me. I have come to terms with that fact, and I'm not the only one. I in no way encourage it, because it makes my life a continuous hell. But for those of you who insult and are cruel to Pro ana mia's, are thoroughly ignorant, and should be ashamed. my alleged bulimia is my thing and ill be damn if anyone in my family gets there hooks into me again my bulimic behavior has helped me loose 60 lbs and ill continue til im about 125 lbs im 5'8" i hope that isn't to thin but hell i think thin is beautiful and i wont be ashamed of that

first of all, you don't loose 60 lbs, you LOSE it... and second of all there are other ways to lose 60lbs, you know exercise and healthy eating.... throwing up your food is wrong, call it a disease if you'd like, but consider yourself lucky that you actually have food to eat, even if you choose to throw up your food...

I think eating disorders are taken too lightly. People that are saying "oh these girls just want attention, they're stupid", it's really unfair. Eating disorders are psychological diseases and you're state of mind is really altered. If you're really entrenched in an eating disorder it's hard to see the way out and sometimes sufferers think it's easier just to stay where they are.

I know this old, but I really can't help replying when someone says that. Just because you aren't underweight doesn't mean you don't have an eating disorder, it's not fair to go to the doctor and say you have a problem and have people dismiss you because you aren't skin and bone. it's like they don't want to have anything to do with you until your life is in danger, then they take you seriously. it's a really misguided approach to eating disorders.

That´s what most doctors are like.But let us assume a person of average weight went to the doctor´s and claimed to be suffering from an eating disorder and the doctor could see no medical evidence of that, that person would probably be sent to a psychiatrist.
