with the DVD box sets they should have made this the intro for the last episode of season 3, and for all of seasons 4 and 5. this one would have been better than the one they did use

I liked this one - it felt dramatic to me. Though I suppose I would have gotten tired of it if they used it for a whole season, but I love how it showcases the gate. And it's alot better than that CGI gate in the season 9/10 intro.

It was my understanding that this intro was used until after the episode FROZEN. That's when they started showing faces of the cast.

I believe he means the Season 6 intro. The video clips changed. This is one of two Season 6 Intros. It shows only the Stargate itself, it's very interesting, this is the only time they did anything like this.

I loved this opening! I thought it was better than the ones from seasons 1 through 5 when they aired those episodes on SHOWTIME and in syndication. Out of all of the openers of STARGATE SG-1, I consider this one the best one!

theres no action..... all it is is a stargate... its better than the intro they used for the first episode (or was it for the entire first season the first time it aired? its been too long...) but, its just.... yea... the other intros are way better than this one...
