Why hasnt HBO or Showtime done a series about Alexanders life? The first season could be about the birth of alexander and phillips early years ending with his death and alexander coming to the throne. The second season could be him quelling the early rebellions and planning on going east. season 3 first half of east invaision. 4- second half. 5- his india invaison and eventual death.

@gaelenfade One reason maybe b/c of the fact that both Olympia & Alexander were responsible for Phillip's murder. The truth is ; Id rather see a series about Phillip instead of Alexander. Remember, everything that Alexander accomplished was done w/ Phillip's reformed Macedonian army. The Eastern invasion was already planned & Phillip was ready to go. Phillip's life story is more interesting. Alexander, a great general, killed his father to attain his army & glory for himself. Not a great son imo

@Praetorian107 While i agree with the fact that phillip left alexander a golden legacy i think we should also remember that alexander was already amazing before phillips death. He took control of a horse unit when he was 16 and had a stunning victory. As for both himself and his mother being involved with the murder; its provocative but no hard evidence supports it. Maybe 2 seasons about phillip?

Yes, it was Phillip's destiny to simply hand over his mantle to Alexander, who was to become far greater than his father, Phillip new this, Alexander new this.

And for Alexander to be involved with the murder, it could only have happened through his mother, as in knowledge of it, because Alexanders love for his father was too great to conspire against him.

@Praetorian107 Although you are right about these facts you mentioned, Alexander maintained the title THE GREAT because he represents the perfect leader. Since he was born he had the unique vision to find the end of the world. The battles against the great Persian Empire proved only the smallest aspect of that person. He travelled with scientist, he was open to new cultures, he fountained new cities.

@xristonfer And he mixed cultures, brought civilization with him. In historical terms when speaking of Alexander and the antiquity, you always refer to "before and after Alexander" because even thou he's reign was quite shortlived, he made a tremendous impact on the world

@BibleJoker2Face Well...it is not the case where it has much lyrics in it, it's just "glory" they are singing, in English. The other parts of the music where the choir is present, they are not singing by words. In Latin it would be more like "Gloria" btw.

@lapsi89 I fail to hear the ending -a of glorea that you mentioned. Furthermore the Latin for glory is not glorea but gloria and not heard like so here. Sounds like ending with -y, so that's why I speculated for glory and not gloria. Cheers :P
