It's too bad many UM fans basically forced him to retire just because he lost to App. St. Yes, that was a terrible loss, but still, Lloyd Carr was an unbelievable coach. I would much rather have him coaching our team instead of Dick Rod.

I met Lloyd Carr in Detroit airport today and i must say that he is the nicest guy i ever met and looking at Michigan football now, I think everyone misses Lloyd Carr very much.

Ballertim87 - I don't know if UM was in the Rose Bowl last year. I was to busy following The Ohio State Buckeyes in the BCS Championship. Yes, we lost; but we aim high. It's really sad that a team like Michigan can get beat by several no name schools and still be big bowl contenders.

If Mike Hart could run the ball as well as he ran his mouth, Michigan would have been BCS Champions the last 4 years. I don't hear him talking so much trash about OSU now.

There is certainly an argument for Michigan just like there is an argument for OSU. There has been for 104 years! And there always will be. This rivalry is larger than you, me, or any fans and their simple ideas about what this rivalry is. They've been doing this since before airplanes were invented. Michigan has huge tradition as does OSU. Carr dominated Cooper and now Tressel dominated Carr. It's a wheel that never stops, that's what a rivalry is. I'm a UM fan and I don't whine, I talk.

Carr was not your average coach, he coached the game with integrity and he wanted to develop people for life, not just players for a game. He may have been the leader of your rival but to not respect a coach like that is absurd.
