  • well said man im from Northern Ireland i tell you if you were here you would really show our lousy politicians how its done.

  • I'm canadian and I would loooooove someone like you as president of our bro country...and I would love you as PM actually

  • FUCK YA!!!!! 2012?????????

  • Why wasn't it made more known that an amazing atheist ran for President of the USA?

  • @AUSM92 . i did great piece of work. still. the only reason it has been ineffective is because it has been ignored.. but when people stand up for it. then it becomes effective

  • @AUSM92 right however it doesnt negate the constitution and more people need to read up on it and stand up for the most important and brilliant document ever written

  • @AUSM92 which is why there is supposed to be seperation of church and state. we have the reich wing taking over the gov. which is unconstitutional and why we have these nut jobs trying to rewrite the constitution and twisting the hell out of it just like they did the bible..

  • Mid-term elections are coming up everyone. Vote Gravel's party, Libertarian!! . . . or Constitution Party if it is on your ballot ^_^

  • you fight misinformatioin with information..what you dont do, is limit the freedom of people. if people harm other people, they they must be stopped according to the law..however, this must be done within reason, in other words, you cant ban religion, you cant take kids away from parents because the parents have some stupid ideas to teach them..force is never the answer to battle ignorance. if someone believes he should eat his lawn to gain favor with god, so be it, as long as he leaves me alone

  • @longfootbuddy amen spoken like someone with an ounce of common sense left. that is lost on US citizens today. Ron Paul and Mike Gravel should run together... would be interesting.

  • @awsomeshot its a funny thing, that those who are the most sane, are accused of being insane by the masses...or rather, the asses

  • Great truths thanks for blogging.

  • GOTTLOS UND FREI well simi free

  • I never heard of this guy in the 08' elections but its good to see a senator putting out candidate videos on you tube that are not commercial garbage.

  • You got my vote!

  • It's sad that Mr Gravel was shunned for his out-spoken-ness.. I wanrted him for President, for his views matched mine...

  • Religion is crap.

  • Morality is for those still possessed by the invisible chains that bind and prevent us from advancing in civilization and as a species. Even with religion absent from the equation, there has still been opposition against cloning, with many claiming such a concept not to be ethically sound. Isn't morality and ethics as personally based as religion? They are founded on a system of personal beliefs, a personal creed or code. What place does morality and ethics have in politics or government.

  • I supported Ron Paul during the Primaries and still admire him, but I've always respected Mike Gravel (as well as Dennis Kucinich, Cynthia McKinney and Ralph Nadar) and I think if it were between the three now, I think Gravel would take my vote.

  • Nominative determinism...a man called gravel with a gravelly voice?

  • I'm sorry the system can't seem to handle people who can articulate views rather than provide sound bytes. :(

  • Vejry well said Triften. It seems all we (as a society) can vote for is a bumpersticker slogan.

  • Simple and direct

  • I supported you from the get go. I thought you were the most genuine and the most caring of all the candidates. I think that what you did to stop the draft was an incredible feat. You are an inspiration and a breath of fresh air.

  • I read that you were out of politics!! shit I think I understand you, but I have to say I am very sorry to hear it, just as I lost faith in USA and its politics I found people like Ron Paul and you, and now you are leaving, anyway, Im grateful and I feel honored to have the chance to hear your great statements, , if you wont keep running in politics I hope people have embraced your lovely perspective in politics and life.... thank you Mr Gravel!!!

  • Zeitgeist is not leftist, not rightist. It wants to do away with phony politics. Politicians cannot solve problems. Technology can, science can. Religious instiutions are also phony.

  • So true.

  • グラベルさん、是非日本に来てください。

Mr Mike Gravel, please come to Japan.

  • Seconded.

  • This video: stupid title, appeals to a certain type of bigot found a lot on YouTube.

  • go mike

  • no american president believes in god if they did they wouldn't kill innocent children

  • Testify! Anyone ever seen _The_Handmaid's_Tale_?

  • Yes. it is not real, it is liberal propaganda you idiot.

  • So everything you dont like is liberal propaganda? By the way I am not exactly a liberal. If you consider the "xtian" neo-cons (u sound like one) to be conservative your head is jammed very far up your ass. There is nothing conservative about expanding govt and teaching children the world is 6000 years old (and propositioning them). Liberals dont have all the answers, but then again, neither do u or i.

  • Strawman twice. I said the Handmaid's Tale is liberal propaganda. I'm no "neo-con" either.

And what's with the "xtian"? Is that supposed to be an insult? Where does that come from?

You're not a liberal? Yeah right.

  • its not so much an insult as it is laziness. using the word "liberal" as an insult is the about the same. If Christians could just leave people alone and not tell them how to live properly than I would have no problem with their beliefs. Living by the golden rule is not good enough for them - they want to tell u what to put in ur body, who to sleep with, what to think, and if u dont agree they become very un-christian very quickly. If only...ah fuck it, what's the use...

  • It's "liberals" who won't leave people alone not Christians. Enjoy the forthcoming "hate" laws in the USA, you probably will.

  • *Applause* Thank You!!!

  • Vote on the National Initiative and aslo watch Zeitgeist the movie, available free streaming on youtube and elsewhere.

  • No, Zeitgeist is disinfo. It is left-wing propaganda and NOT a true conspiracy truth movie.

  • Why the fuck aren't you in the oval office?

  • @Cheshirecat55 did you vote for him if no then theres your answer.

  • @LORDNAG1 can't, I'm from Ireland.

  • It's such a shame that religion has become so oppressive in the last half-century, because it can be a source of joy and strength for people.

As a Christian who understands and accepts evolution, I think it's sad that the far right has denied science, and that the far left has reacted by totally attacking religion. Like all things, the best ground is the middle ground. And by that I don't mean intelligent design, I mean teaching ONLY evolution in schools, and leaving religion to family.

  • Excellent words sir, a real leader in progressing our knowledge of evolution and finding out how we came to be scientifically. Religion should not be taught in schools and it is wrong to hide creationism as intelligent design. There is no alternative or difference of opinion, all there is are facts about evolution.

  • 5 stars :D. to bad i cant vote.

  • you can get your family to vote for the national initiative

  • 5 stars for an excellent vid.

It's time to throw off the tyranny of christianity in America!

  • Seen increasingly in newspapers, Online , and Television; today the term "evangelical militant atheism" is used by theists as an epithet for the "militant evolutionists who want to silence the idea of creation". It is sometimes used pejoratively to describe people who are considered to campaign too actively, in your face militantly for atheism and against religion: "those who advocate the elimination of religion" as opposed to "progressive, enlightened people who are simply 'nonbelievers'.

  • Rational Response Squad ? YouTube Search ...

    "Evangelical atheism"

    A very brite young man...:)

  • Mr. Gravel...I have a respect for spirituality for enlightenment but agree with you on the oppressive nature of the church and the government.

Even as a believer in God I must say I have respect for those who believe in evolution as I myself see it ass a tool through which things were created.

We as a human race must have respect for the liberty of consciessness and freedom of thought for they are indeed our kalidescope. ~thankyou sir~

  • We build asylums for the imbecile, the maimed, and the sick; and our medical men exert their utmost skill to save the life of every one to the last moment.. Thus the weak members of civilised societies propagate their kind. No one who has attended to the breeding of domestic animals will doubt that this must be highly injurious to the race of man.But excepting the case of man himself, hardly any one is so ignorant as to allow his worst animals to breed. That was Charles Darwin.

  • Basically, the newest wave of atheism has been a call to rationality, with atheism as the default position of disbelief pending evidence to support belief.

Not all religions are irrational and not all religions are theistic. Bahai doesn't believe in the supernatural and Scientology doesn't have a god, and they each get their deserving response to their actions instead of a bigoted prejudice for simply being. So yeah, long live rationality and the Constitution of the United States.

  • All religions are irrational, by definition.

  • the point is your apples and oranges. you only think atheists are somehow more correct and less fanatical then theists cause you are one. Me and other secularists who are neither already know thats bullshit.

  • He is trying to point out that it isn't apples and oranges. People are people, and no matter what deluded reasons they give themselves to justify their actions, the reality is that our morals are firmly based on the history of our evolution from a tribal species.

But someone can reject traditional religion and not for intelligent reasons, thereby falling into just another dogmatic schema such as soviet communism or mob rule, which is what I argue Stalin et al did.

  • Stalin was an atheist whether you want to believe it or not. He may not have killed in the name of atheism but it doesn't change the fact he was one. hence atheists have no damn right as far as me and majority of secularists to dictate how rational and better they are when atheists have blood on their hands.

  • Not all athiests though. I've never killed. I have no blood on my hands same as Christians don't have blood on their hands due to the crusades or inquisitions.

Stalin killed because of his Evil ideas. Religious people kill because of their Evil ideas. Evil ideas cant be tolerated.

  • Why do you atheists immediatly think that anyone who disagrees with your views is religious? I'm a deist smart one. Look up the def of apostate. Just more proof that atheists have no place in attacking religion when they clearly don't understand it.

  • Nice generalization on atheists there. I agree though that the person you are addressing this to doesn't appear to have a strong grasp of the topic though, but that still doesn't mean your generalization is accurate.

  • every religion has negative teachings not just christianity. And if atheism was a perfect belief then some of the greatest dictators, (Stalin mao, pol pot etc) would not have been atheists. Their is no such thing as a good belief or disbelief. Theists and atheists are equally fucked up in my book.

  • Ah, but Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot (you forgot Catholic Hitler) *were* religious. They set themselves up as religious figures. They certainly did not perpetrate their horrors in the cause of atheism. Your argument is invalid.

  • Whoa whoa whoa hold on a second. NONE of those people that you just mentioned were religious hitler was raised catholic but was an avid nonbeliever. and yes, they set themselves up as religious figures, they set themselves up as Gods to be worshipped, not followers of a certain faith.

    With savages, the weak in body or mind are soon eliminated; and those that survive commonly display a vigorous state of health. We civilised men, however, do our utmost to check the process of elimination;

  • You clearly have not read what Hitler wrote in Mein Kampf. Stalin attended a theological seminary.

I agree that they set themselves up as gods to be worshipped figures - that's what I meant when I said religious figures.

You have an odd view of native societies, if that is what you mean by savages. In primitive societies, lack of medical care typically dispatches the weak. However, most societies care for the weak provided that they have the resources.

  • thats every god and hell even charles darwin was a racist, sexist, homophobe if you've done research on him. No group of people has any right to claim there belief is more civil cause that is complete bullshit.

  • " something that created the universe would have to be more complex than the universe so where did this incredibly complex being come from? "

    Absolutely.

Quantum physics and like sciences are uncovering evidences of alternate universes and realities/dimensions.

A supreme creator being would not be confined to out limited space /time existance. If he were, he wouldent be God.

    Think outside the box..or universe/demention...;)

  • wow! go gravel. im glad i stumbled on this video.

you are a brave man for displaying your rationality to the public while running for office.

    wow!

  • Hmmmm..Lets see...

Atheism calls believing in a higher intelligence , NOT inteligent thinking.

And the idea that intelligence comes from non-intelligence to BE intelligent thinking.

    What the #@&%????

    Did I miss something here???

And although they have no clue HOW life started in this universe, they claim to know for sure that it wasent from Intelligence.

Now thats atheistic thinking at its best.

  • He's got my vote!

  • Like we should trust someone subscribes to loons like Ron Paul and Alex Jones on this matter. Ron Paul believes in creationism!!! That's as ridiculous as believing in Santa-Clause and the Easter bunny. I'm sure you read all the cult books on Ronald Paul's reading list. Fore example - The Real Lincoln by Neo-Confederate Thomas DiLorenzo - Condemning Lincoln's call to fight for freedom of blacks. Go back to your local small town KKK meeting - tool.

  • how the hell do u know if creationism is real or not? for one thing, nature IS intelligent. there is a perfect system taking place. was it created by a personified being, or does it simply exist thru the collective existence of nature? there's no way to even come close to having a clue. and to declare one side over the other makes u as hollow-minded as the side u oppose...whatever the truth is, what makes u think we as humans are even qualified to give as much as an opinion on the matter?

  • the word is humility..it'd suit ur unwavering sureness of ur arrogant beliefs

  • Evolution is excepted as scientific fact - and there is proof to back it up. That could be where my arrogance is coming from. There is no debate among the science community on evolution - only among feeble-minded youtube users. Now lets sit here and argue about the theory of gravity why don't we?

  • evolution has nothing to do with creationism. creationism is the theory of how the universe originated u goddamn fool.

  • "u goddamn fool" - stay classy now. There are the "new earth" creationist and the "old earth" creationists... The "new earth" creationists theories directly contradict evolution - know at least the minimal about the subject before your fingers hit your keyboard.

  • It doesn't matter what any politician believes. What matters is do they uphold and defend the Consitution if they're elected, nothing else.

  • "Religion is a personal belief system, not a political belief system."

    EXACTLY!

  • I would have voted for him if I was old enough.

  • I have to say, I'm surprised by this guy's courage. I would like to know more about him now, and wish I had known more about him earlier in the election cycle. However...

I am an atheist, and I am from Texas, which has a reputation of being practically awash in medieval notions, yet I would still rather have as president a strict libertarian even if he were modestly religious, even if he did not accept evolution. The one who leaves me alone to live my own life my way is the one I would trust.

  • Gravel FTW ...

  • I admire and respect Gravel for speaking rationally

    in this emotionally-loaded arena.

    Well done, sir!

  • Why didnt you get president!? That is exactly what america needs. Less religeon... less opression... more thinking!

I cant understand how religeon is endorsed by people in power? Look at bush. God bless the US! I can do whatever I want, because "GOD" says I can!(WTF?)

Its a difficult discussion, mainly because people who belive in god, anre emotionaly dependant on "god" or their beliefs. You take away their faith, then their life is a lie...bla bla bla. This makes them stubborn and dogmatic.

  • Gravel sounds like an intelligent & articulate person. I don't know his background, but we could do with someone like him in the UK.

Re 9/11, its completely plausible that it could have been a CIA operation, either using Al Qaeda, or that Bin Laden was still a CIA Operative. Makes you wonder, afterwards the US was free to do what it wanted ie. Afghanistan and Iraq.

  • By and large our (U.S.) politicians are worthless. However, I do respect Gravel; the man has a record of taking a stand for things he believes in.

He was a Senator during Vietnam and risked his career (and quite possibly jail time) in order to enter records of the Pentagon's misdeeds into the Congressional record (do a search for 'Pentagon papers').

He also led a one man filibuster of the draft until he collapsed from exhaustion.

He gets called a kook a lot but has done some great things.

  • I like Gravel's stance on this issue, but as a whole he's a loon. He supports a group that believes 9/11 was an inside job.

  • Right... Theirs an informed opinion.

  • Yes it is an informed opinion, he supports a group that believes that 9/11 was created by our own government, read about it. He sounds pretty looney to me.

  • Gravel doesn't believe 9/11 was an inside job. He simply believes that it should still be debated and be reinvestigated. That doesn't hurt anyone.

  • You sound like a loon for being so naive to think that the U.S. government is not capable of something so heinous.

  • That's not a loon, that's called one who states truth. : )

  • Well I guess I have misunderstood the meaning of truth.

  • Obama should say something like this

  • The safety in candidates like him lies in the intelligence of the voters he's reaching for. He doesnt need mindless catchephrases like 'Change' or 'Yes We Can'.

The real problem is finding these candidates as the media is so controlled, and empowering the intelligent people of USA to think and find the outside candidates. Does it not occur to the people that everytime they pick TV guys they get fucked over?

  • Everyone has a decision to make, and live with the consequences. Nietzsche did what he thought was right, I personally would still point to God even with someone who had turned from Him previously. I would not give him books about humanistic worthiness , or tell him "you are really special", just because. I would tell them that God brought them into this world for a reason, that there are no accidents, and that God wants to lead them to a life that is abundant in confidence and hope.

  • I do find it interesting what you said about Nietzsche trying to give people who turned away from God, other humanistic things to find purpose in life. It sounds noble, but is it really a good thing? If there is any morality today? Where does it come from? Just as long as you don't shun people from the only thing that can sustain original morality,(not emulating)which I understand to be the person of God.

  • "Not everyone who keeps saying to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will get into the kingdom of heaven, but only the person who keeps doing the will of my Father in heaven.

    Matthew 7:21

Those who "lost faith" in God were never God's children to begin with.

  • For I am certain that not death, or life, or angels, or rulers, or things present, or things to come, or powers, or things on high, or things under the earth, or anything which is made, will be able to come between us and the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

If you see people falling away from God they were never His children, nothing can overcome God to get between Him and His children.

  • Nietzsche seeing the falling away of those who at one point professed God as their father but obviously never knew God, and more obvious God never knew them as His children, he states that God is dead.

  • Nietzsche was right when he said "faith does not prove anything". If you go to sit in a chair, and have faith that it will hold your weight, then go to sit on it only to have it cave in under you, your faith did not prove the chair would hold you. So ANYTHING else that you believe to be true is not proven by your faith in it, which has to be held for ANYTHING, even evolution, or Nietzsche. Remember you can not prove ANYTHING with belief or faith no matter where you're taking a casual stroll.

  • Friedrich Nietzsche did not know God, nor Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "blessed is he who believes without seeing", faith in God and His Son Jesus is a gift from God, it is a wonderful thing to have. If you have faith in Nietzsche then enjoy it, and enjoy what that faith in Nietzsche brings you. Is Nietzsche the one that said, "God is dead"? What does that mean? How does he know?

  • Nietzsche was not saying God was physically dead, but rather metaphorically. To my understanding, he wrote this as a reaction to the loss of faith in God by many people in his time (and continuing today), and with this the loss of an objective code of morality. The "death" of God and afterlife leads people to be nihilistic, the belief that their existence is essentially worthless. Nietzsche attempted to find human values that combatted this nihilism and gave people purpose in life.

  • I only commented here because you can not believe in creation and Darwin evolution.Faith in God is a gift from God.I didn't become a christian until I was 32 years old.I know what I thought then and what I think now.Its called faith for a reason,to be able to prove it would nullify it.If you want to believe in evolution, fine, just be 100% sure you're right, please take this very serious,it is critical that you are not wrong.Know without doubt, you are 100% right. If you can't,then sincerely, pray.

  • "A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything." -Friedrich Nietzsche

  • One can never be 100% sure about anything!

If you are allowing a % of doubt drive you to magic then OH WELL!?!

  • freeplay-go to St. Louis, they have a 3D arch that you can actually take an elevator up through to the top and enjoy the view. Believe me and many others, the arch is not two dimensional. But what you might have meant is that in a few translations of the Bible, ARCH is not used, but CIRCLE is used. That's what a few other video discussions here on YouTube like this one argue that a circle is 2D.

  • freeplay-you keep stealing arguments from other video discussions, which is fine, just be sure the author of those comments is 100% correct. ARCH-a quarter has an arch if you look straight at it, but when you spin it, a globe can be seen. At altitude you can see the curvature of the earth which resembles an arch.

  • the Psalm verse,

    Psalm 104:2-4

You are clothed with light as with a robe; stretching out the heavens like a curtain:

The ARCH of your house is based on the WATERS; you make the clouds your carriage; you go on the wings of the wind:

He makes winds his angels, and flames of fire his servants.

  • An arch is not and never has been a sphere. An arch is a two-dimensional shape.

  • Isa 40:22

It is he who is seated over the arch of the earth, and the people in it are as small as locusts; by him the heavens are stretched out like an arch, and made ready like a tent for a living-place.

Sorry it took so long, I read some other verses and got caught up...

  • if you've read other posts on other video's I'm sure you've seen that verse, as well as the one with the one that the earth was on pillars. I've seen them before, and the arguments on both sides. I didn't become a christian until I was 32 years old, so I know what I used to believe and what I do now. I like Mike Gravel, I don't want the United States to be mandatory Christians, it doesn't work, they tried it before, it can't work because you can't be a christian unless you believe in God.

  • what about this...Moses and the Red Sea, Jesus bringing people back to life, Paul and Peter healing people, all of these things are believable, as believable as a big bang starting a universe, or that the first organisms came out of a primordial pool.

  • try this...

"The belief in a flat earth came out of the Dark Ages, when the church destroyed the scientific establishment and forced people into submission"

also in the Bible is when Jesus says "a house divided against itself can not stand", which I believe to be true, so for 'the church' to know that the world is ROUND, "Oh-it's also in the Bible", it seems that the church would force the people and the scientific establishment to submit to the belief that the world is round, not flat. (fixed)

  • 'for 'the church' to know that the world is ROUND, "Oh-it's also in the Bible"'

The fact that you continue to misquote me demonstrates your utter lack of intellectual depth.

  • "in Psalms, the passage that reveals that the earth is round was written hundreds of years before Jesus was born."

Still waiting on the verse. I'm quite sure it isn't there.

  • if the scientists say the world is round, and the Bible says the earth is round, the church and the scientists are in agreement

  • "if the scientists say the world is round, and the Bible says the earth is round, the church and the scientists are in agreement"

The Bible said the earth was FLAT.

Satan took Jesus up on a hill and Jesus could see the entire planet. That can only happen with a flat surface.

The Bible also says that the earth rests on pillars.

  • So we act like what we think now is right until we think differently, then that new thought is right until the next discovery...scientists hypothesis that the world was flat was overwhelmingly supported by facts and evidence until they discovered they were wrong.

  • "scientists hypothesis that the world was flat was overwhelmingly supported by facts and evidence until they discovered they were wrong."

    This is a lie.

Back before Jesus supposedly lived, scientists had already figured out that the world was round.

The belief in a flat earth came out of the Dark Ages, when the church destroyed the scientific establishment and forced people into submission.

Oh - it's also in the Bible.

  • "The belief in a flat earth came out of the Dark Ages, when the church destroyed the scientific establishment and forced people into submission"

also in the Bible is when Jesus says "a house divided against itself can not stand", which I believe to be true, so for 'the church' to know that the world, 'Oh-it's also in the Bible', it seems that the church would force the people and the scientific establishment to submit to the belief that the world is round, not flat.

  • Not a single word of that made sense...

  • When I said "Oh-it's also in the Bible" I was clearly referring to the dogma of a flat earth.

  • "Back before Jesus supposedly lived, scientists had already figured out that the world was round."

you are right, in Psalms, the passage that reveals that the earth is round was written hundreds of years before Jesus was born. Whoever is responsible for the information in that passage of the Bible must have been a great scientist! And you should read the book of Revelation in the Bible, it tells of incredible things to come.

  • "you are right, in Psalms, the passage that reveals that the earth is round was written hundreds of years before Jesus was born."

Quote the passage. The Bible is full of scientific lunacy, like saying that a calf conceived in front of a pile of straight rods will be born with stripes.

  • "you should read the book of Revelation in the Bible, it tells of incredible things to come."

No, what it does is relate the story of a man who was clearly high on something.

  • there was a theory that was considered a fact at one time that the earth was flat. it was widely accepted. if you look objectively, science has to occasionally change it's theories when new information surfaces. lol, explanations for macro evolution are constantly evolving, and the causes are only contemporary, with the limit of information of only what we know now. Some theories we have now will have to change as we learn more.

  • FUCK!

  • Great video. God is the leading cause of death.

  • My word, you r running for president mate and you don't use your brain?

Sheeks, what a relief for the americans your not the president!! Why is evolution called a THEORY..... duhhhh. Because it can't be proven.Fact.

  • "Why is evolution called a THEORY..... duhhhh. Because it can't be proven.Fact."

    You're astonishingly ignorant.

In science, a theory is the HIGHEST FORM OF KNOWLEDGE.

Gravity is a theory. So is the idea that bacteria and viruses cause disease. So is the motion of the planets in space. So are the tides. So is nuclear fission.

  • Sorry, you're wrong.

There are theory's that have been proven, and then they become laws, or facts.

Gravity is a natural occurrence that we observe every day, however the kind of evolution you're talking about has not been proven.

A theory is just a hypothesis until it has been proven or disproved.

  • "There are theory's that have been proven, and then they become laws, or facts. ... A theory is just a hypothesis until it has been proven or disproved. "

This is not how science works. Science does not prove. Science explains. Evolution is the most evidentially- and experimentally-supported explanation we have.

  • yes an incomplete theory. if you asked for complete evidence pacing every link in evolution youd be the most ridiculously idiotic and unreasonable person in the planet. i find that all the day, in fact im talking to one of those people right now! we have an ridiculous amount of evidence proving evolution. just because there doesnt happen to be an unlimited amount of fossils we can look at does not mean its true. a theory and a fact. please, try harder......

  • "we have an ridiculous amount of evidence proving evolution"

    Wrong again.

You should stop thinking it's a fact that evolution actually happened.

You have nothing to prove it.

There's proof of adaptation, but none of species change. There's proof of mutation, scientists do not fully understand it, but it's certainly not evolution. There are bones that have been found of giant humans, many of them. But very few "transitional missing links" have been found.

  • What kind of creationist propaganda site have you been getting your information from?

Evolution is both a proven fact and theory.

  • What are you referring to?

  • What do you mean?

  • Seriously, you just replied to my comment

"What kind of creationist propaganda site have you been getting your information from?

Evolution is both a proven fact and theory."

You asked where I was getting my information. What comment are you referring to?

Also, who told you evolution is a fact?

  • "Also, who told you evolution is a fact?"

The fossil record and the nested hierarchy in the genetic code etc tells me that evolution is a fact. Also, there's a difference between the fact of evolution such as the stuff I just listed and the theory about how the process works, namely natural selection, genetic drift, gene flow etc. However, a theory in a scientific sense is more powerful than a law or a fact. Theory means explanation in a scientific sense. They explain more than laws do.

  • I wish I could have seen the fossil record like you did.

By the way, theory does not mean "explanation in a scientific sense."

It can be scientific, but a theory can be an explanation for any kind of wonder of the world.

There's no evidence of evolution, and if you are going to make such a claim, then provide a source.

  • Scientific theories are explanations for natural phenomena as well as the highest form of proof you can get in science. Seriously, they carry more weight than both laws and facts.

You want evidence of evolution? Merely typing it into your browser and reading the wiki article is a start! Or how about going to your local book store and going to the science section??? Or how about going to college and asking ANY professor about it???

  • Asking for evidence of evolution is like asking for evidence of gravity (they're both theories btw)

What do you want to know more about? Natural Selection? Genetic Drift? Gene Flow? Speciation? Mutations? All of these contribute to evolution, which one do you want to know more about?

  • Type any of those terms into your browser and then come back and say there's no evidence for evolution.

  • It's not, it's a theory. It cant be both at once.

  • fuckin again.... this little bitch wont stop making youtube videos...

fuckin pick your nose or something, youtube is supossed to be funny shit.. bitch

  • Yes, I'm for seperation of church & state but NOT God & state. Indeed, society is regressing, right!? More & more, paleontology/evolution specifically is becoming the laughing stock of the scientific community. The human race came from 2 parents, read your Bible. What ethics are there without God or what base of morality? None. If it is existentially personal, then there is no absolute.

  • "More & more, paleontology/evolution specifically is becoming the laughing stock of the scientific community."

That's an out-and-out lie. Those are two of the MOST EVIDENTIALLY-SUPPORTED sciences we have today.

  • go free play! i cant believe these douchebags are even trying to fight the obvious fact of evolution

  • Wow, it's not even a theory anymore -- you have great faith in "mother earth". Psalms 100, "Know ye that the Lord He is God, It is He that created us and not we ourselves."

  • lol you dont even know the scientific terminology that is a theory. gravity is also a theory. its a fact aswell, just like evolution. and who are you to say whats fact anyway? your just pulling quotes from a book that has absolutely no evidence to say its true.

  • There is more evidence for the authenticity of the Bible than for the works of William Shakespeare. Admit it, you do not WANT to believe in the Intelligent Designer. It raises too many tough questions: like the immortality of the soul, like in judgment, like in righteousness...

  • lol wtf? william shakespeare wrote fictional plays. also what do i have to admit? or are you really that stupid that you think i have to admit that i dont want to believe in an intelligent designer? if i had any evidence given to me that would suggest the probable existence of an intelligent designer i would hop on the bandwagon in a second. unfortunately all you can do is pull quotes from some non factual book and tell me stupid things like "such and such had to be designed!!!!" fail.

  • "There is more evidence for the authenticity of the Bible than for the works of William Shakespeare."

    That is entirely true.

There are a few scattered historical facts in the Bible.

    Shakespeare was a fiction author.

  • The Bible's full of historical documentations, archeological discoveries, scientific knowledge, fulfillment of Bible prophecy. Read Grant Jeffreys Signature of God & you will find that at times when the Bible was considered wrong, new discoveries showed that our history books were actually in error. Christ came as a suffering servant & this defies all of what hell is about. Evil stands for selfish pride. Jesus gave us his Holy Word as the Sword of Truth & the entrance of it gives LIGHT.

  • What you just said? It's complete horseshit.

    1. "Documentations?" Written by unknown authors?

    2. Archaeology has basically DESTROYED biblical historicity. Look up Dr. Hector Avalos' videos on archaeology and the Bible.

    3. Scientific knowledge? The Bible is full of scientific FALSEHOODS. According to the Bible, pi equals exactly three, there are four-legged birds, the earth is flat, and the sun moves around the earth.

    4. I can find more fulfilled prophecy in a horoscope archive.

  • "you will find that at times when the Bible was considered wrong, new discoveries showed that our history books were actually in error."

Provide one single example of this.

  • I voted Gravel in preliminary.

    Voted obama on nov. 4th.

  • its too bad that you speak so much truth. One must lie and decieve and cheat if they wish to become president! OH well when Obama's novelty wears off maybe truth will have some political merit

  • Hi, Mike. We should make art video in Japan.

  • "the youth of today are by far the most corrupt perverse generation yet, and statistically are far more agnostic and atheistic than ever before."

There are more Christians in jail than there are Atheists. Seems to me like we're on the right track, no?

  • I would love to see these statistics... is Gallup or maybe Washington Post? Come on. Even if it was a poll of people in prison, it is most likely due to jail house religion. Also, just because someone calls themselves a Christian doesn't mean they are.

  • "Also, just because someone calls themselves a Christian doesn't mean they are."

Therefore, no matter WHAT statistics I give you, you will dismiss them out of hand without justifying your dismissal.

  • So what is morality? And what is non-morality? In other words is non-morality mean you have no heart? Because "morality" by definition to me has a heck of a lot to do with the heart.

I would never vote for a man who is basically saying you shouldn't bring your heart to the presidency. I might as well be gambling on another Hitler.

  • Mike, I weep that you did not get the Demon-crat nomination.

    Unfortunately, you did not.

And we are going to be another IRAN.

I'm digging in, as a rural agnostic. I mean, for fallout. Obama will lead to nuclear war faster than McCain.

Good-bye and good-luck to you and your family.

  • So your mad because they are not teaching a theroy? true. evolution has alot of proof. but religion is not crushing your evolution idea. God is. LOL. but also for the fact is that scientist's athiest or not, are finding evidence against evolution. I mean look!!! its been around for over 100 years. STILL NOT PROVEN!!

  • Still not proven. Yes it yes. It's observed in labs in micro-organisms. What is not proven is your imaginary god, which has been around for thousands of years. Get a reality check and embrace facts, not juvenile fairy tales.

  • Yes it has been.

  • Are you pissing on yourself on the local curb? No? You'd be doing your family a good duty of you did.

  • Great arguments!

It's about we do something about it.

However, I think that getting rid of religion is better done slowly. When it is done slowly, not only new non-believers actually (and finally) understand why, but by being a long-term struggle, it will leave som many documents in our history, so that people will NEVER forget why they left religion behind!

If everyone were to quit at once, not much detail would be available as to why we left it behind, and humanity would be doomed again.

  • Whether you're atheist or not, there is little point in 'getting rid of religion' as there is in 'getting rid' of any other type of belief. Are you even aware how difficult it is to eradicate any belief? There are still a significant number of neo-nazis today. There are between 1.5-2.1 billion Christians alone. You're also forgetting that conservative individuals have more children on average, that's social evolution right before your very short-sighted eyes...

  • Yeah, I agree. Let's just take away the hope that people believe in and teach them that there's nothing an
