Am looking to buy a good home theater speaker package. What should i get? i have 200-300 bucks.. logitech z5500, etc?

200-300 bucks will not get you far. My very best suggestion for you is to hear it first. Sound is very subjective. What are you going run them with? Computer? Try not to get hung up on the THX thing. It does not mean they sound better than an equally priced speaker set that is not THX cerified.

I would do it yourself, buy good speackers and place them around the room, then hook them up to a decent size steryosystem, it should turn out great.

I spent between 7k and 8k. At today's prices you can reduce that cost by $500.00 to $700.00.

It looks like a fun room. I am making mine now, but I kind of am avoiding the commercial home theater look and am aiming for a Den feeling. I got the room pitch black which is good. But I think I have to blacken the ceiling because the white is too reflective. I think it's better than a movie theater. I know the sound and picture are way better since Hi-Def projectors came out. It's the wave of the future.

My friends cousin is manager of a theater and after closing hours we connected halo 2 up to the screen...that was intense. That room looks perfect for it tho.

Are floor standing speakers really considered ugly compared to in ceiling speakers? I have acoustic energy evo 3b system. The problem is that the surround speakers are the size of normal front speakers that you'd mount on stand. 18" is a bit tall for surround speakers

If i had a Projector Room/Home Theater Room, I'd have the Projector lower from the ceiling along with the 100"+ Screen (that is if you have a 2 Story House)
