also, to the question of what fuel: I use the purest lamp oil I can find. It's usually at Ace and I find it doesn't taste as bad as some of the others. Just a suggestion to whomever asked. BUT, get taught how to do it BEFORE attempting anything. And I agree, Home of Poi is a good website to use.

@MizLacyZ You can use ultrapure lamp oil, but it leaves residue and you won't be able to do vapor tricks - just simple extinguishes. White gas is the fuel you need for a good visible flame with control and proper vapors. Of course, it's nasty stuff to put in your body, but it's up to you if it's worth it to get those cool vapor tricks.

Zippo fuel is naphtha. It should work. The most common fuel is Coleman camp fuel which is also naphtha but just a wee bit different. I really hope you learn personally from someone who already knows. Fire eating seems easy at first but there is serious risk involved from using the wrong equipment and techniques. I'd suggest checking fire safety tutorials at Home of Poi. There are some really bad tutorials on the internet.

Nicely done. She's elegant! I am a fire eater and I get so tired of people going for the big shock of the breathing first without featuring the art of eating and fleshing. I think that breathing should be the cherry on top if it is necessary. She doesn't need to!

@kim3833. No. There's something called thermal lag which is the time it takes for heat to transfer from one thing to another. So as long as you extinguish the flame fast enough, you won't get burned.
