  • My comment was out of turn and made no sense and I apologise

  • @TheRagnerman, apologie accepted

  • Lol @t1t296 sorry for stealing their heritage I guess?? Do u know what Nova Scotia means? New Scotland. The 78th is a part of Canadian heritage me thinks.

  • Oh, right this is Canada. Although this is cool, I think that the canadians take it a bit too far seeing that the heratige belongs to the scots

  • This is Canadian heritage. The 78th served in Canada from 1866-71 and inspired at least two Canadian regiments, the Pictou Highlanders and the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada. One hundred Canadians served in the 78th while they were in Halifax (they had transferred from the Royal Canadian Rifles), and at least as many British members of the regiment retired from the service to settle in Nova Scotia and Quebec. The 78th stand as an example of the many British units that served in Canada.

  • Kevin Gaul is my hero.

  • Great recruiting video Dreky. Somehow I seem to escape all photos and videos taking at the citadel

  • I served in this unit from 1995-1996. It was the best summer job I ever had, and it went together with my love of reenacting. It`s a demanding job, but it`s worthwhile.

  • Much better than the 2008 video, shows just how complex getting dressed in the morning can be.

  • do you need to be a certain height?

  • You need to be physically capable of doing the job. That eliminates extremes, but there is no six foot height requirement like the Guards. Most applicants fall within the average range for men and women.

  • Awesome uniforms! What kind of Rifle do they use? Is there a specific period of Canadian history they portray?

  • The period represented is 1869-71, when the original 78th was stationed in Halifax. The rifle is the Snider-Enfield.

  • This video is BAD - FUCKING - ASS! I love how its an HD too!

But the piper at 0:29 in the background is laughing and undisciplined...

  • damn I would love this job man! i'm from Denmark, but I have a year of in about 3 years if i go to Scotland i the summer can I then get this job? or is there some qualifications?

  • Thanks for your interest. We are actually located in Canada, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Basic physical fitness and coordination are the only qualifications. Generally we hire students from the local universities, though we will hire anyone who can pass our trials. We have had employees from all over the world, including members from New Zealand, South Africa, Korea and Hong Kong.

  • damn I would love it. It is located in Canada you say.... Well that just make a lot better, I love Canada. I'm going now nobody can stop me! :)
