  • Fad signs can be found in each deaf schools. I find it fascinating as a student and as an employee. Often the fad signs are created and it faded when the school is out for summer. When school resumed and new fad signs are created.

I hope linguists study this fascinating 'fad sign' in the ASL community.

  • Ridor, I have never seen these signs before. I really think Lame sign is so Lame! haha. The "pulse" kind of makes sense, but I don't know if I would want to sign that. I originally thought the "low" sign meant fucking. haha, but yeah... Chill sign is the worst!!! They probably think Chill sign makes them look cool and gangsta, but it backfired! That's my opinion. Have you ever thought about teaching History?? You makes history so interesting.

  • A geology professor mentioned what you said about the Appalachian

  • omg the last video about chill sign make me think of cripz signs Have to be careful don't let hearing people see that kind of sign. wish them luck

  • I am sure when we were young kids at our deaf school, we have our own funny/odd signs. Older deafies think we are weird somehow. Thanks for an interesting history in DC where there is tornado which I never knew. Peace-WEC

  • interesting about the Appalachians...I am from Upstate New York and I live near the Adirondack mountains which is not part of the Appalachians group is growing 1 mm each year. It was said that millions of years in the future it will be as high as the Rocky Mountains and also Adirondack mountains are the world's youngest mountains with the world's oldest rocks, that must be interesting.
