These poor horses! There are people out there, like myself, who have loved horses all their life and have only dreamed about having a horse. When I see things like this, it disgusts me. It's like taking my dream and turning it into some sadistic nightmare. How can people do anything like this to an animal? It's horrible. We act like abuse to humans is a bigger problem than animal abuse. Try telling me that an animal doesn't have the ability to feel pain. That it doesn't love. Just try me.

What horses need is to have their country back and be free of human contact if this is what it has come to. We are plastered all over the internet and in the real World as the single most aggressive destructive species to ever roam this Earth's surface. There is nothing we will NOT destroy, kill, mame, sicken, poison, pollute, radiate, blow up, whether it be human, animal, mammal, reptile, insect, fly, walk, crawl, swim, float and we are not Top of the Food Chain..writing this makes me sick.

I see alot of skinny horses at the farm I work at b/c it's a rescue, but rarely are there skinny PONIES......ponies are so easy to keep weight on if you don't work them, and these were just skin and bones! It's simply Apawling.

I would absolutely love to help with things like this... I feel it's what I live for most times... I think about it everyday. I have no money to donate as I'm a regular person living paycheck to paycheck... my dream? that would be someone calling me to offer me a free plane ticket one way to help with horse charities like this. I wouldn't need to be paid... all i'd need is a roof over my head.... food to eat and a horse to help and i'd can honestly say i'd be set for life.

hey they didnt just walk out of court, the owne got 6month and fines £400,000.00 and banned from keeping horses for life, his son 18month sup vis order and 10yr ban and the sons wife and two daughters 10yr ban on keeping horses and community service, personaly I would have hung the bastards, god forgive me but they should be hung, child abusers and animal abusers alike GRRRRRRRRR Good work done horse charity xxxx

these workers in my eyes are doing gods work which they are, but the justice system has failed these horses, that man who put the horses through this torture, him and his family and friends.. all of them deserves the same treatment.

horses look at you for trust love and care, a horses love is better than money everytime.

i was in tears watching this, untill that last scene - its like, 3,2,1,GO! those horses happiness made me smile so much - he said at the begining that they were silent and still, but with love and attention those two were jogging about, and galloping and bucking and whinnying,... heart warming :')

There will be a special place called hell for these people, they may not be judged by the courts in this life but they sure as hell will have to answer for their actions in the next. I think that the punishments for the people who do this or simply allow these poor animals to exist and die in such a way are completely inadequate. Simply fining and banning people from keeping horses again is not enough and sadly it is too difficult to enforce these bans. Seeing the poor animals lying dead and left to rot is heartbreaking, sometimes the cruelty of humans is just unamaginable

Yes they were. They're not protected though. They wer shown on TV leaving the courts laughing and sticking their fingers up to all the cameras. Lovely people who should be put away for life. I'd love to rescuse one of these to keep with my own pony.

i don't know much about horses:( but the two released in the last 5 sconds of the video seemed to run and kick out of pure joy of being allowed a chance to live the way they should! Amazing the work this organization does, u r the voices for an animal that can not "speak"! Thank u!

Thank heavens charities like this exist for all the creatures with no voice. It is beyond my thinking how a human being can treat horses in this way. The are not words to describe the single celled life form that dares to draw breath and stand on two legs whilst abusing animals in this manner.

6 months is probably the worst the shits will get, they'll probably get a ridiculous ban from keeping horses for a year. My horse is really nervous, and having been born at Spindles and having spent most of his life there, it's no bloody wonder. Hope they rot in hell, because our judicial system will do feck all.

My beautiful horse came from Spindles Farm. He spent at least a year and a half there before being rescued. He is rising 5 now, has a large comfy warm stable and shares 8 acres of good grazing with my mare and 2 alpaca friends. He was broken last year and is doing wonderfully. He was emaciated and can be very nervous in his stable and I dread to think what he has seen. I can only hope justice is done, but my little Dan is filling out, loving his feed, and living it large :)

I think that the Family should be banned from ever owning or caring an Animal ever again. They should be banned for life. They treated those Horses with disrespect and with no dignity. What was going on at Spindles Farm. Why didn't the whole of the Family ask for help if they could not cope with the amount of animals that they had??? Those horses were in filthy conditions and there were those that were dead and decomposed. This is the most shocking case I have ever heard about. I hope that the Family do not ever look after animals again. They should be fined, jailed and make sure that they never ever look after animals again. They are the most evil people.

This is so sad. I've just read that they can still keep the animals in these conditions as a delay in sentencing means that inspectors have no powers to confiscate them! Also they could appeal meaning they could keep them for longer!!  This amazes me. How on earth can they be allowed to keep them any longer? Why do they want to keep them anyway? They don't care for the animals, surely they are an inconvenience to them? It's clear they are just there to be abused. It's sick.

Thank God the World Horse Welfare exists to try and rehabilitate these poor creatures. I hope the people responsible are jailed for such neglect.
