Observe and think a bit more before you write stupid things. The kid was recorded with two cameras from two angles, and so there were several people on his right. When he finished playing (imagine, he was TOTALLY focused on the play), he looked first at the frontmost camera, then at the one slightly behind him (that is the one we see him by) and finally to a person behind his back. He was waiting for further instructions and he was scared; "I finished, what is now???" That is all.
This is the kind of song that I imagine a mad person living in a castle full of cobwebs would play to while away the lonely hours. Or, the kind of song I would play in my apartment if I only knew how to play the piano.
hmm, the edition I have of the piece has a metronome signature of this kind of speed, and the orchestrations I've seen also play it like this. But I agree that slightly slower is better. For my taste anyway.

it's a pity that it's not complete, I would like to hear the full version with him playing...

He should stress the accents of this piece. He just play the notes... and that's it! That's not be a pianist!

what is he playing before the montagues??
pierolivier111 2 years ago
I think Montagues & Capulets is in rondo form (A-B-A-C-A) and that first bit is section C, which is a repeat of a Madrigal (?) earlier in the ballet.
I think so, anyway. But the famous Montagues & Capulets theme is section A of the rondo.
beyongthepale 2 years ago
That's a lesser known section of the piece... the first minute-ten seconds or so is like that.

Poor Boy,
He doesn't seem to enjoy it at all.
I spoke to a father of a pupil of mine from Russia and he told me "Russian music education is like Gestapo"
That's what I thought when I watched this.
Although it's played great.
