@Aus641 Very true this was made in ww2 as we both are pretty much a joint force. Training.Intel,Air and Sea Watch ect ect is all shared. Some might say its an act of domination but i say its critical for protection of a large portion of the world. I do beleive as Australia and the US together is what makes both of us a much stronger force. When it comes to defence tactics if a country invaded either of us they have to deal with the other too. I have been involved with all of these exercises since Tandem Thrust 98 and worked with the Marines in Okinawa and the Aust troops on this end and the same feelings are present every single time .Overwhelming respect by both parties for the other. The yanks love our small unit capability and mobility. Aust loves the US equipment ability etc. There are reports of brilliance by both sides, I believe a dinky little Collins class sub did something amazing on the second Tandem Thrust.
I loved the Aus SAS Title given to us in Vietnam "The phantoms of the jungle" and the fact that the USMC gets some of their skills/tactics from us Aussies. That's pretty awesome, the fact that the U.S is looking after us and getting info from us. We are professionals!
