Nice! US version is horrible. I have been a Honda person my whole life, but their styling is uninspired and just not attractive at all. Hyundai is kicking their butt in styling... All they need is to back it up with reliability and resale value, and Honda is in big trouble.
Engine wise I've read that it will probably be an 1.6L turbo charged engine, and that this new Civic 2012 and the new CR-Z will share it. Output will be around 200hp, but emission wise it should be way better than the old one. I do hope that it will still rev to around 8k rpm :)
@AcidCrow 8k rpm will probably be a dream. If they made an engine using the turbocharger for high rpm`s, then I doubt they will be able to decrease emissions and fuel efficiency by a significant number. It makes more sense to use a smaller charger for lower revs. That was always the weak point of Honda engines, low torque and no low end power. Engine setups like used in a Golf GTI e.g. would integrate Honda into the modern trend. People will miss the K and B series........
@Zlaja192 Yes, a beautiful dream :) But I totally agree. It does seem like it is impossible to get good fuel efficiency and emissions from the the upper rpm band past 7k rpm.
I drive a Type R FN2 and I guess I will just stick with it a while longer and enjoy revving it from time to time ;)
@RdcsVtec Nobody yet knows if its real. The main style of this concept is realy similar to the CRZ Type R Concept which was presented at the SEMA. The first pictures of this civic Type R came as far as i know from an english newspapers website, calles AutoExpress.
