Pain81@ Come on man isnt that a bit harsh why dont you try to make it has a proffesional boxer, its all easy to talk and call them bums but reali at least their trying make a liviing and name for themselves u shud respect them for that, not call them bums
this guy can do the splits, cartwheels and is an amateur mma trainee....big deal what does that have to do with boxing? his record is garbage and most boxers have the "I had a hard life and no education story"....big time failure
Ah ha this is where you are mistaken...He is now actually 9-6-1!
I cant figure out for the life of me why they waste time&money when no one gives a shit about this bum-but Ive seen it alot.
"THIS" is one of the things that pisses me off most as is whats wrong with boxing.
This "selective publicity for no reason" I've seen first hand&is so frustrating when a person can win everything put in front of him for YEARS & "quietly"make a run at the olympic trials without much notice at all because all
It's a take on behind the scenes of boxing. Instead focusing on only the stars, the show is focusing on the average boxers as well to give you the big picture on what boxing is like and not just the glamour of the elite fighters.
It's about the inspiring stories in the sport, not just the guys with good records. This is a realistic look at boxing.
i mean dont get me wrong. barros seems like a cool guy but clearly has no future in boxing regardless of the circumstances. so whats of showcasing him to the public eye as a boxer if we'll probably never see him after this 3 part documentry. i hope that make a more reasonable choice next time.
i have to agree with eo6241 and pain 81. i mean how can you possibly go from guys like damitry salitan and chris areola guys with at least a mild future in sight to a guy like barros. a man who eventually will go to ufc/mma. i as a boxing fan dont wanna see guys guys who eventually will go to ufc and even trains it. i wanna see up n commers like danny jacobs or danny garcia. you know extreamly talented guys that are just startin out that need exposure to boxing fan who maybe havent seem them.

totally agree! why don't u showcase talented, skillful yet unknown fighters which has bright future in our beloved sport so they won't be hard to market them in the future when the time is right? nothing against the guy but ur showcasing someone who most likely will move to MMA/UFC...isn't that a waste of money? examples of fighters with great potential Berto,Ortiz,JuanMa Lopez,Gamboa & i think there are many more which u could pour ur investments....
edvan is a very good fighter dont let the record fool u. he started his career fighting guys way more experienced,he has taken a lot of those fights without even training bcuz he needs the money to support his family. the struggle is very real for edvan n many fighters like him. promoters know this n take advantage of it. ring life is not about showcasing the next champ ur missing the point its about the struggle of fighters u dont get to see. anyway shouts out to edvan luv ya bro,ya boy ozzie
He's a bum, I saw him get ko'd in his last fight on telefutura. He supports his family you say?? So do about 95% of boxers He didn't train?? who's fault is that?? I will still watch but HBO shouldn't be wasting this show on guys who don't have a chance to become stars.
what is wrong with HBO?! nothing against the guy but should you be showcasing future stars/cashcow of the sport??? instead ur showcasing someone who most likely will join MMA/UFC, does HBO now have plans for UFC?
how about showcasing GAMBOA,BERTO,JUANMA or any up & coming fighters which has bright futures so the audience will have an idea of the unknown but skillful fighters, when the time is right it wouldn't be hard for them to market themselves...

This guy seems like a really nice guy but HBO should be using this show for future champions not 9-6 club fighters.

It's not on TV< it's an online show, basically what you're watching is it. The episodes of Ring Life are all put in their entirety on YouTube by HBO.
