@Boomerou27 Most likely trying to stop. Don't know the details of this one but I have seen footage of several trucks that plowed through traffic like this and every time it turned out they were overloaded some times as much as 30 or 40 tons.

@Boomerou27 could be a number of things. A lot of trucks use air brakes, when drivers have to use the brakes a lot, air pressure runs out and they lose their brakes, he could be intoxicated or maybe he is just a dumbass.

@twisted667 When the truck looses air, it doesn't loose its brakes, the brakes lock on. The brakes are naturally forced against the drum, the air is what releases them. Also, its rare you can use your brakes enough to deplete the air supply before the compressor builds it back up.

@AdamAbs87 Your explanation is probably correct. My brakes did lose air twice and I had to stop what I was doing and let the air pressure build back up. I was in a sand filled area while working in the oilfield. I only drove for a couple months. I think most likely this guy was overloaded like olstar18 mentioned.
