i have heard one song that is a nice mix of berimbau and hip hop by an artist named Mariska. no idea if there is a full album like it or what but you can try to look it up and see what you get. found her on itunes
i have watched and people have tried to explain it but just watching it this time i get it by going thru the rhythm 3 or 4 different ways i get it thanks
Capoeira is a brazilian martial art, it is like a sort of dance in which people perform fighting moves without touching each other... Try to find about it on the internet I'm venezuelan and it is kind of hard for me to explain; the story about Capoeira is really interesting that's what I can tell you right now.
The berimbau's been used in heavy metal as well, take Max Cavalera for example (ex-Sepultura, now in Soulfly). He has used it extensively and the results are fantastic ! I wonder however, how difficult it is to learn how to play
plenty of folks play the berimbau outside of capoeira. as far as hip hop goes, i know the berimbau features in the music of zion i and is prominent in one of the tracks on aceyalone's book of human language... but, of course, that's just two of thousands of places the berimbau has popped up...
as far as the capoeira goes, i'd suggest learning to play berimbau really nicely... learn some songs... and show up to a capoeira roda once in a while just to play music... folks will love it.
he's cool!

Excellent stuff! Can anybody play berimbau without practicing Capoeira? is it bad to use this music in combination with hip-hop?
