  • I'm gonna buy my supplies tomorrow and can't wait to fix the minor drywall damage around the house. Getting ready for the Holidays, so I'd like the small repairs done so I can relax and not be paranoid that someone will see them. Thanks!

  • Wow! Thanks so much! Who needs a husband???

  • @rpaniccia100 every woman needs a husband dumb ass

  • Very clear--I'm so less intimidated now! thanks!

  • really helpful :) thx a lot

  • this was incredibly informative and helpful thank you

  • When he put those rails behind the drywall if you use liquid nails on those two short pieces of wood they really grab the back of the drywall and make your square drywall patch hold that much better. You can even use liquid nails to glue that plug of drywall in place before you start taping. It will make a very solid patch that won't ever have to be revisited.

  • You have to add texture before priming and painting. Otherwise your going to have an obvious smooth spot on a textured wall.

  • @viper8red I know what you're talking about and have noticed many patches like this in different apartments I have lived in. How do you add texture?

  • @craplin Texture comes in aerosol cans from lowes. Three different types, light, orange peel (medium) and the heavy for doing knock down texture. Most places are prolly your orange peel texture. If you don't add texture you'll just have an obvious smooth spot on the wall and your landlord will ask "What happened here?" Clearly you don't want to tell him that's where your drunken head hit the wall. So you use texture.

  • @viper8red That helps a lot, thank you very much.

  • THANK YOU!!!!! OMG my walls are torn up and dented so bad its scary!!

  • love love love Lowe's

  • I just bought a home recently and it needed some things done to it. I went to Home Depot and wasn't impressed. Went to Lowe's and really noticed the difference with the type and style of products they have compared to HD. By far much better and more variety!

  • Repairing cracks doesnt get any easier than this...Lowes is better than HD

  • After fixing the large holes, is it possible to mount something like a towel holder or shelf over that surface? I am fixing holes in my bathroom and liked the placement of the old towel holder. thanks!

  • Lowe's is awesome

  • Anyone know why you need a nail in the wall over the nail/screw that isn't completely secure in the wall?

  • can't get it out?

  • You put a screw above it to pull the drywall back, and secure it to the stud, so the moving motion of the wall wont wiggle it back out

  • @averylbrooks If the screw makes that nail pop out just pull the nail out with a hammer and replace it with a screw. Hammering the nail back would not really be my idea of a best option.

  • Why not a hard hat to go along with that mask and safety glasses?

  • Great tutorial...

  • Fantastic thanks!
