  • this is what he said to mma weekly about his performance

I feel like I showed a lot of takedowns, perhaps something I didnt show before. Im pretty happy with my performance. I know that I need to go back and work on some things and keep getting better. Im looking forward to my next fight, perhaps fighting at 170.

    go big dog

  • Debuting in the organization more than eight years ago, the Big Dog would eventually leave the promotion with a subtle 1-2 record, losing to Matt Lindland and Andrei Semenov, before moving on to do bigger and better things in the land of the rising sun. Chief among his wins were Ryo Chonan, Ikuhisa Minowa, Nate Marquardt, and Kazuo Misaki, which propelled Almeida through the ranks of Pancrase, making him one of the best 185-pound fighters in the world.

  • cacharrao has won many fights in japan before his return to mma in the us back in 2008

he has all of the skill required to make a statement in the 170 weight class and you will all see that

the only loss he has had since his return was a split decision against cote

    he's won three other fights

  • big dog was really impressive in his win over the much bigger kendall grove, he should do really well @ 170, his first fight is against top ranked jon fitch @ UFC 106...November 21, 2009

I agree withy you and I also heard the rumor about fighting fitch

  • The Ultimate Fighting Championship® makes its Philadelphia debut on Saturday, August 8th for UFC® 101: Declaration. In the main event, the two best 155-pound fighters in the world finally meet when UFC® lightweight champion BJ Penn looks to defend his crown against number one contender Kenny Florian. Penn has never lost at 155-pounds, and Florian is looking to change that stat this summer.

  • people think the big dog is not delivering and he's 3-1 since his return

  • that's a nice video, almedia is a great fighter

  • with 2 fights left on his contract with the UFC

  • he's renzo's 3rd degree black belt

  • there's a rumored fight for him at 170

  • he's dropping to 170 next

  • He should kill his next opponent

  • Big Dog is the man!

  • War Big Dog!

  • War Big Dog!!!!

  • If he improves on his submission & counter skills, he would be one of the best. I think he might be a little better as a light heavyweight though.

  • what are you talking about???he walks around at 190!!!he should be a welterwieght!

  • Oh yea def demian maia v almieda would be baller but one of them is gettin the belt

  • Ha. Wow Almedia one of your favorite fighters. Jesus. I'm sorry.... He is a horrible fighter. Kendall Grove is going to destroy him. I honestly dont know how Almeida is in the UFC. He is one of the most boring fighters to watch.. Watching him stand up with Kote, was witnessing someone who needs to be cut form the UFC....

  • You really don't have a clue as to what you are talking about do you? lol

  • sure he is boring at times.. but you have to be retarded or a meth head to think he doesn't belong in the UFC. He has little standup skills, sure but how many fighters have little to no ground skills? MANY Almeida is a TOP Level BJJ fighter. He has a large amount of experience, just because someone doesn't fight your preferred method doesn't make him less qualified to fight. Kendal better bring his A game or he is going to sleep.

  • So Almeida dominated and won !! 30-27 now what

  • One of my favourite fighters in the world. Amazing skills. I would love to see him become MW champion some day.

A match between Ricardo Almeida and Demian Maia would be one of the most epic BJJ battles ever! I would love to see that....

  • Ricardo Almeida Vs. Demian Maia would be epic!!

after "big-dog" fights kendall grove, ricardo is moving down to welter weight(170)!!! so he gonna be fighting guys like dan hardy, frank trigg & jon fitch!

  • jon fitch is a monster idc what anyone says

  • He is going to be the Maia of 170 if he cuts the weight well

  • UFC 101: Declaration

August 8, 2009 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

    Middleweight bout:

    Kendall Grove vs. Ricardo Almeida

yes, big-dog back on the ppv main card this fight is going to be awesome!!!

what are your thoughts on this fight???

  • ricardo almeida all the way babyy!!!!!!!

  • only prob is it might not play. Hopefully the other fights aren't too long.
