  • Tried it and I LOVED it! Thank you so much!

  • @HelloDaisyDukee95 So glad this worked so well for you too! XO Carolyn

  • I just got done cutting my hair with this technique, and it worked great! It looks just like the layers I normally get done at the salon and pay $60 for. Just to give you some history, I am 25 years old and am VERY particular about my hair and have been known to go back to a stylist to fix my hair if I don't like a style the first time. I have extremely thick hair with a heavy wave and if you take the time and do this technique right it works great!

  • @clwhittenburg That is so fantastic! You go girl! XO Carolyn

  • Like !

  • this is great!!!!! Love the video! Think I could use this method for cutting my hair short? shoulder length or shorter?

  • @kristena710 If you can get your hair into a ponytail on top of your hair, you can cut layers. Read some of the comments below to find out how ladies are using this method to cut their hair using variations with the base cut. This cut works best on hair that's blunt cut with no layers but also works with existing layer cuts. Does this answer your question? Carolyn

  • Ur stupid to try this on ur hair urself and if u think this is the correct way to put layers in ur hair. I'm a hair stylist and this not the way to put layers in ur hair but the right way if u wanna screw up ur hair!!

  • @rvmerriam I don't think this is stupid at all.... why all the negativity???? If she or anyone else wants to be self sufficient and cut their own hair they are very well allowed to do so. I have been cutting my own hair since high school and have always been pleased with the results. Just because its not YOUR way doesn't mean its the wrong way....

  • @kristena710 Well said!

  • @rvmerriam I'm also a stylist and my stylist use to use this method on me because it works. Try it! You might also like it! And have a great day!

  • My hair used to just hang then and gather up at the bottom. So I tried this myself on my not even quite shoulder length hair. This length hair meant the ponytails were nice and small and easy to manage. I put lots of layers in, changing the partings height as I went. I must say I am impressed! I also have wavy hair, but tend to leave it that way. This gives it more body and there's now no gathering of hair at the bottom! Thank you!

  • @luvligirl84 That is so inventive and so cool! You go girl! Glad your hair came out great! XO Carolyn

  • haha dickerson sorry

  • I'm really sceptic about doing this to my hair, wouldn't tying your hair up make it come out dodgy looking? :S

  • @Amietwin1 Nope, this cut has been around for over 100 years! Women used to use this method to cut their childrens hair during the Depression in the US. (I didn't know that when I posted it or I'd have said so). Look at the responses below... from the people who've tried it. Most all of them are good! To be safe, try the first cut but only take a small amount. You'll only get a few longer layers and then you can decide from there. Trimming ends never hurts! XO Carolyn

  • I think your cut looks great. Thanks for the video. I'm gonna give it a go myself.

  • @Annettesmusic You are so welcome. Hope your hair turned out great! XO

  • You are so awesome! Love how you explain the mystery of haircuts. Thanks!

  • @dreamsava Aw, you are so sweet! XO Carolyn

  • That turned out really good!

  • I don't want to sound rude or mean but your hair looks super dry. You may want to lay off the hair dye/highlighting:)

  • @sheree07twilightfan Aw, that's OK. My hair may look dry, but it feels soft and silky sweetheart. I hardly ever use products, hot irons, or a blow dryer. I also condition, condition, and condition some more. My hair is totally thick, which looks full, which can make it look dry I guess. I only use color to touch up my roots and don't highlight/lowlight but about twice a year... XO Carolyn

  • @notaditdot You just said at the start of the video that you blow dry it straight every other day so what do you mean you don't use blow dryer? How many do you smoke a day?

  • @fatriff I said 'hardly ever' which still holds true. I only blow dry the top layer of my hair for like 30 seconds or so after I wake up in the morning cause my hair reverts to curly/wavy overnight. And I use cool or low heat only. I don't understand why you needed to be so crass about this. Isn't the world full of enough problems? Blessings for a great year! XO

  • i just watched your video and made the cut and i love it thank you for sharing this

  • @blueyedkygrl1 You are so welcome! XO Carolyn

  • omg that guy that was in back of u in the other room scared me lol i thought it was a killer!!

  • BTW you have very pretty, full hair! I just didn't have enough room to mention in the last response I put on here. Also wanted to mention that I will have to let you know what I think of my cut after it drys :)

  • @dolldazed68 Its hard to tell you if this will work or not with existing layers already present.... since there are too many variations on how layers are cut... but I have done this cut and the easy V cut many times over layers that were already there and gotten pretty good results. I sure hope you will too! XO Carolyn

  • @notaditdot -well, it appears that this has worked for me. I have looked at it a couple of times and it does seem like it. Is there a video that you have that talks about cutting hair that has pre-existing layers? Thanks for this at home method!

  • @dolldazed68 No but thats because there's no way for me to tell you if something will work or not.. because there are too many variations in layering and length. You can't give generalizations because of this. It truly is a case by case outcome. XO Carolyn

  • I JUST now washed my hair, left conditioner in my hair, combed it out and then put the high ponytail in my hair and cut about 1-1/2" off my hair (my hair was right below my shoulders)...I hope it looks good! I probably should have asked you but my hair was already in long layers from about a 7 week ago hair cut. I guess we will find out how that will work out but do you have videos were you comment or could you comment about cutting hair in long layers that already have the long layers?

  • I've just tried it and got to say... my hair looks wonderful!!!! The V-shape was almost perfect and it looks more layered and more alive. I have black long hair and when I blow dried it it just looked amazing. Thanks for the tip!!!!!!

  • @lacangri71 So glad it brought your hair back to life! Amazing what a few layers can do for you! XO Carolyn

  • OH, I know! I have been cutting my own hair for about 2 years and before that Moma did my hair(I just started cutting my brothers hair) I find it fun to do!!

  • I SO cant wait to do this to my hair!!! It is a little longer then my sholders I hope it works!!!

  • @TheMisssamiant Just be sure to try smaller amounts first and as you gain more confidence, then take more! Wishing you the best ever! XO Carolyn

  • This is AWESOME! My stylist charges $60 for a cut! So it takes me awhile to wrap my head around paying that much! So my hair was blowing in my face while driving and I looked like cousin IT! LOL So I will try this out - looks simple enough for someone blonde and medicated (like myself) can do! Thankyou!

  • 3:05 thumbs up if saw the man on the door ;)

  • Thanks! I just tried this out today, my hair is pretty short, and I only took off about half an inch with two parts and it looks awesome! It's way better than if I go to a salon and say "I would like just a little bit of layering just at the ends please"... They usually take that to mean "Chop the crap out of it" and then it ends up flipping outward cause they cut it weird... I end up looking about 11

  • @Chls122 Well, you are very ingenious to be able to do this with short(er) hair! Kudo's to you! See, you ladies are all training yourselves to be self sufficient, versatile, and free from hairdressers who don't listen and botch your hair! So great! XO Carolyn

  • @Chls122 I would love to look 11 again! Whats your hairdressers name? LOL I'm so glad that this worked so very well for you! I am a hairdresser but know exactly what you mean! I became a hairdresser to be 'one person' who actually listened to their clients! I'm not practicing anymore but worked in a busy salon for over a decade. XO Carolyn

  • does my hair have to be wet when i do this or can i just do it when my hair is dry? jusy wondering... Also my hair is like 4 inches below my shoulder blades... while this cutting technique work for my hair?

(my hair is natural wavy, but i straighten it alot.)

    Thank you. (:

  • @UrMyAddiction21 No, I usually do a dry cut using this method. It gives instant results and you don't have to worry about hair shrinkage... Try cutting it once and see if its enough. If you want more, then do the second cut... but make smaller cuts in both cases. You'll get the results you're after if you take your time:o) XO Carolyn

  • @UrMyAddiction21 I should add 'if you want more 'layers', then do the second cut':o)

  • lmfao, @ 1:33

  • thanks for the tips on layering Caroline...just did my daughter's hair, it's still long but with nice layers now. it turned out really good! thanks again!

  • @BCraingirl You are so welcome! So glad and hope your daughter is pleased also! XO

  • Thank you!!! Your hair is gorgeous and I hope mine can look that good. I also have naturally curly/wavy hair...any advice on what product to use to keep frizz at bay?

  • @faerydust099 Use products that have the words 'sleek' or 'smooth' on them. Apply gels or oils to your hair when its wet too. You'll get much better anti frizz results. XO Carolyn

  • This looks easy enough to do but If you was to keep making smaller sections could you make shorter layers and would this work. My mum used to be a professional hairdresser and she thinks that it would work but I thought that I would check with u before i do it myself.

  • @boreduk3 The more length you cut, the more layers you'll get. I was even pleasantly surprised by how many layers were in my hair after the cut. I have been a professional hairstylist for over 18 years now and this works. Please read the comments below about the great successes many ladies have already had using this method. It works. Just be sure to keep your hair in the correct place. Front hair in the front and back hair in the back. XO Carolyn

  • @notaditdot ok thanks

  • Thanx!(: I hav tha straight hair and going to go get layers in today and wana c how it looks thanx for tha tips! :)

  • @countrygurl16ily Hope it works out great! XO Carolyn

  • @notaditdot Thanx and it did i've got lots of compliments!! thanx for all tha tips and hard work!!! i appreciate it!!(=

  • @countrygurl16ily You're so welcome!

  • Fabulous! I have very curly hair, with big curls and usually pay a fortune for a cut and colour, and don't always like the end result. Am flat broke at the moment, so bought a home colour and followed your tip and Viola! I look fab! Cut my hair fairly short, the longest layers now sit just below my collar bone (did not do the second ponytail)

    Thankyou very much

  • @TheLGolding You are very welcome! XO Carolyn

  • My hair is fairly long and would love to try this out! Thanks for the tips but one question?

What type of scissors will be great to use, I know not to use blunt ones?

I'm from the UK, and this is just to experiment and not for a special occasion so I don't mind if it goes a little bit wrong.

  • @emalily18 No haircut is perfect! No matter how someone tries! You can feel free to use any scissors you like, as long as they are sharp there shouldn't be any problems. I use my large gift wrapping scissors for some of my haircuts (haircuts that only require one snip) cause I only use them for gift wrapping and they are major sharp! Use whatever you like though! XO Carolyn

  • My hair is really short, so how would you suggest doing this with chin length hair?

  • @WolvesBleedInk Can you get any of it up in a ponytail on top of your head?

  • @notaditdot barely, I can do little side pony tails on each side though

  • @WolvesBleedInk No, ponytails on the side won't work sweetheart. I'm sorry. Wait till your hair is a bit longer, then you can try it. XO Carolyn

  • Wow. Honestly, this is a great video. It would be much better if everyone down here would shut their faces and actually watch the video, rather than argue like 5 year olds. Thanks.C:

  • @StuckAtHomeAllAlone You are so welcome sweetheart! XO

  • Thank you very much!! I have cut my own hair a couple of times before (bend over, cut across) but your video (this one along with a couple of others) helped me create layers and frame my face better than most stylists have done it.

Ignore the post complaining about your background. Seriously? If it was a nasty dirty mess maybe. But I think it's real & comfortable, and the CONTENT of your videos is way more important than wether you are in front of a blank wall or a decorated one. Good grief.

  • @biblestamps Yeah, I try very hard to ignore ignorance. lol I am so glad you are pleased with your results. XO Carolyn

  • I have super sleek, straight hair. I do want layers and wanna try this though because it looks so easy!. Kinda afraid to though :p

  • @ZodiacDyn03 Gosh I'd love to trade hair with you! lol I would try the first cut only. Make it a small cut so you can see what long layers would look like first. I would be afraid to cut too many layers in bone straight hair too. It just shows the cuts too easily and your hair might look a lot thinner. XO Carolyn

  • I appreciate an easy-to-understand demonstration from someone who also has thick hair like mine! Woo-hoo!

  • @greenmarker567 Yes, my haIr is very very thick and unruly. My hair actually behaves better without layers but I love layers and always want some in my hair. XO

  • Thank you so much! Just did it and love the results. I have naturally curly hair and have been doing the ponytail cut for years, it's getting thinner now and I need layers, but I hate going to the beauty shop. This worked perfectly, It's one of those "Why didn't think of it myself things." Again thanks Sandi

  • @SandiKay202 That's fantastic Sandi! I'm a hairdresser and started learning how to cut my own hair because of too many failed haircuts by others. Its so much more convenient to cut your hair at home anyway! XO Carolyn

  • Thank you for this! I've been cutting my own hair, straight across, for years using a ponytail method by Feye from LHC. While I enjoy having long hair, I keep considering layers because my hair becomes so heavy, and in a ponytail I look a bit bald, lol. In the past everyone loved my hair long yet layered and I'm thinking of going to that again. I wasn't sure if I could do levels of ponytails, but it made sense logically. now that I see this, I know I was on the right track! I shall try this.

  • @Rainhylda That's so cool! I wondered if it worked too, so I tried it:o) I thought it out beforehand though. You can believe I was so happy when it did work! (I have messed up my hair so many times trying different techniques that I didn't think thru clearly over the years...) lol Best of luck to ya! XO

  • Thank you Carolyn! I have very fine, wavy/curly hair and have always had trouble finding anyone who could give me a decent haircut. I just did this myself and it's fantastic! I will never again suffer with frizzy split ends, stressing over who was going to butcher my hair next. I did 3 levels of ponytails; you were wonderful in your clear explanation& demonstration. I did this with damp hair sprayed with a detangler/leave-in conditioner. I can't believe I can do this myself!

  • @towardsthelight That is such fantastic news! Congrats! Its so great to be able to take control of your own hair and not have to worry about having it butchered! I know exactly what ya mean! XO Carolyn

  • Thanks so much!! I have SLIGHTLY wavy hair, not as many waves as you, so I hope it looks as good, but I'm about to go do this cut right now! :)

  • Haha ...did you see that guy in the back 3:04 .....nice..n_n

  • So, do you recommend cutting the ponytails when it's wet?

  • @punkin11491 No, not really. Your hair shrinks when it dries. You'll get the most accurate results when your hair is wet. If you have curls or wavy hair, straighten it first for the best results. XO

  • @punkin11491 So sorry. I was just reading back over my comment to you. I meant to write that you get the most accurate results when your hair is dry, not wet. Silly me! XO

  • did you make the 2nd cut on the left side or just straight up? because you held your hair on the left side

  • @shexi28 I held it down cause my hair was too long to hold straight up. Just be sure to keep your ponytail centered then smooth the hair before you make the cut. Whether you're holding it down or to the left or right is irrelevant, as long as you keep your hair smooth and the ponytail centered. Make sense? (You can also turn your head upside down and make the cut below you. This would be very helpful for long hair especially.) XO

  • You are absolutely amazing. The instructions were great and easy to follow. It turned out wonderfully, exactly how I wanted it. Not to mention the price was great ;)

Thank you so much for taking the time to make this tutorial video.

  • i'm a bit scared of doing this.. but i'm gonna try (because i don't want to spend 40€ on something i can do myself)... :-)

  • @joanifarc Just take your time. People usually botch things when they try and hurry through them. Don't cut too much the first time. Just take a little bit, see how you like it, and then take more if you need to! You can do this! XO Carolyn

  • @notaditdot I finally tried this morning right after I watched it! (it's the second time i cut my own hair, but first time using this technique). It was actually very easy! and I LOVE IT!!! it turned out really nice, thanks so much for posting such an amazing tutorial! :-)

  • @RubyRoseDIY Super! So great! Congratulations lady! You did it! XO

  • Great video! I tried this with moving my ponytail at different levels of my head to make more layers and it looks really good. I have naturally curly/wavy hair and it looks good natural or if I straighten out.....thanx alot for saving me at leat a good $35. :)

  • @themoonlitgoddess That's fantastic! You ladies never fail to impress me with your ingenious ideas! XO Carolyn

  • omaqosh this lady....an expert!! she explained it exactly how i wanted to cut it because i dint know at 1st but thanx to her thank you!!

  • @xoxbribri You're so welcome! Hope your hair turns out great! XO Carolyn

  • can i do this kind of hair cut on my thin long hair

  • @12bmn I would try the first cut only, which would give you long layers only. If you decide you want more layers, try a few more later. XO Carolyn

  • Creeper at 3:05...

  • Carolyn, thank you so much for this video and instructions. My husband and I watched this together, and then he cut my hair for me -- and it looks wonderful! You are really kind to share this information -- and your own hair looks fabulous! Thanks again -- Dianne B. in England x

  • @RosewillowBee Thank you so much for letting me (and others) know Dianne. You have a wonderful and unique kinda husband! What a great help he must be for you! Glad it worked out so nicely for you! XO Carolyn

  • Weird I didn't even watch this video but earlier today I did this same thing!! It's perfect on my little sisters hair! I am 14 and already cut my mom and my sisters hair!! This gives your hair the perfect amount if volume!!

  • you look terrific. it's true that no one will put as much effort into a person's hair than them themself so it's hard to trust anyone and stylists usually don't give you what you want.... wow, you look great, thanks for the video

  • 3.06 loook behind yoooouuu!!

  • Thank you soo much for posting this video! I just finished cutting my hair and I LOVE it!

  • @honeybee706 That is so great! XO Carolyn

  • Thank you for this!!!!..... it really is great way to cut hair....

i just cut my hair and it turned out really well.

it is way better than professional cuts + you save a lot of money

Thank you again for great advise.

    :)

  • @prasadikaru You are so welcome! XO Carolyn

  • After years of coming home from another "professional cosmetologist" cutting my hair, paying them $40 to $50 per cut, running to the bathroom and locking the door behind me before anyone in my family can look at it, grabbing my scissors to re-do the cut to make it look better, I quit going! I have been layering and trimming my own hair now for 8 years and I can honestly say I do a MUCH better job than any salon has ever done! Women who ask "who does your hair?", end up asking me to do theirs!

  • @racingstar13 Good on you! You go girl! XO Carolyn

  • hehë_Í_fèÊl_sÕ_l0ñÊly_toDÂý

  • Really really want a gif of 2:55, hilarity ensues :)

  • @KaylinBoehme That is kinda funny! So good when you can laugh at yourself:o)

  • @Ozzchic13 Did you take a short minute and read some of the *many* comments below? Do words like 'awesome' or 'great' mean 'bad haircut' to you? This method has worked for so many people who would rather handle their own hair than go into a salon and have a hairdresser decide how their hair should look. I too, am a professional cosmetologist and I highly recommend this cut! Have a blessed day! XO Carolyn

  • @Ozzchic13

you sound awfully offensive... it doesn't look like your line of work is doing as well as you claim.

some people cant afford to goToaStylistAndThis WomaLooks TERRIFIC!dnt see anything wrong with people cutting their own hair. My family always us ed to cut mine and I never received any stellar results at a hair salon versus getting a hair cut at home.one word hyphenate:self-sufficiency

people here had neg exp at salon which is why they are here.

  • I am going to try this. It looks so great on you! I hate going to the salon because they never listen to you and always cut it the way they want to cut it! Great video with easy instructions. Thx!!!

  • @auntmeme902 Thanks so much! Its such an easy and great cut! And you are so right about going to a salon! XO Carolyn

  • thanks a lot you have suggested a beautiful technique. It really worked a lot for me.You made my hair look great thank you Ms.Dickerson.

  • @alina8ify You are so welcome! XO Carolyn

  • thanx a lot its working!!!!!!!

  • @niveditaa1 That's awesome! XO

  • I have to say I came to this video feeling a bit "oh, yeah, likely to be more amusing than useful" but I WAS WRONG - you took me through the whole process in a very easy, but careful, way and I have been amazed at my ability to make more of my hair than all the uninspiring (and expensive) hairdressers I have been to. So thank you very much indeed for taking the time and trouble to post this and to practice on yourself. By the way, your hair looks just great!

  • @twiggystick I kinda feel that way when I look at my videos too! lol (I never watch them again after I've uploaded them cause I hate watching myself. lol) Glad this worked out for you! This is always a fail safe cut you can do anytime! Amazing how little effort too! Stay sweet! XO Carolyn

  • OMG! I've needed my hair cut for weeks now and I hate going to a salon. I have very thick very curly hair and nobody has ever given me a cut that looks good. An a whim, I thought, what the heck. Let's see if there's such a thing as 'How to cut your own hair". Tripped over your videos and 10 minutes later - Voila! My hair looks great! Thank you so much for posting these videos. I'll be posting them on my FB wall. My cousin, who does hair, is going to kill me! LOL Blessings!

  • @1959beamer So glad your hair turned out nicely! Thanks for the kudos! XO Carolyn

  • hello from germany! i watched 100 of hair cutting videos to try it myself. and yours was the best / easiest to me. coz im doing it the 1st time. and i really like it, it was so easy and no one could guess, that i did it on my own... i think, i will never go to the hairdresser again! THNX very much!!!!

  • @cyberpsychooo That is totally fantastic! Be sure to check out another 'great easy cut' . Its one of the newer videos in my archives. Look for the 'easy layered V cut'. Its my favorite and it only takes one simple cut! XO Carolyn

  • Thank you so much, my hair turned out awesome and everyone is asking what video I watched so they can watch it and do the same. Thanks!!! :)

  • @sara51179 I am sure your hair looks fantastic! Just remember to give yourself some credit. I can only show you how to do the cut... You did a great job! XO Carolyn

  • I think it looks adorable. Iove the time u took to repeat & go step by step. Thank-you.

  • @AlvinaLpz Thank you! I do go step by step. This irritates some people so I am so glad you appreciate why I do that... XO Carolyn

  • I think it looks adorable. Iove the time u took to repeat & go step by step. Thank-you

  • I tried this and it looked awesome! Easy peasy and super cheap, I won't be going back to a salon for a while :) Thank you so much

  • @cookinggoat I am so glad you got such good results! Great job! XO Carolyn

  • I love your hair in this vid!

  • @MildredEThompson Thanks so much!!

  • @notaditdot Your Welcome!

  • there is a creeper behind her in 3:05

  • @Jazminlovesyou101 If you read through the comments below, others have done three layers successfully. Just section carefully and take one step at a time if you try it. XO Carolyn

  • Great video! I am going to try this right now....*fingers crossed*

  • @icefangs15 Please let us know how your hair turns out! There are few ways to mess this up so hopefully, it'll work well for you! XO Carolyn

  • Nice. Thanks for sharing. Im gonna try it!

  • LOL creepy guy in the background at 3:03!

  • @BlueOblivion kinda reminds me of paranormal activity lmao

  • yeah, this video dint help me at all!!!

  • @bekii1000 Sorry. Have a nice day!

  • lol

  • Hey, Carolyn! Can you do this on shoulder length hair too? Thanks, great video! -Chloe xox

  • @blacktoxxic555 Yep, you sure can. As long as you can get your hair up into a pony on top of your head. You may want to start only with the first cut though and you'll get long layers. That maybe enough for you. If you want more, go for it. If you read the comments below, some ladies have already done this successfully on shoulder length hair. Hope this helps! XO Carolyn

  • This was a very good video. I went to another site and didn't feel confident in trying it but after this and seeing you do it yourself, I might not be so afraid! I think it's wonderful what you do and if anyone says different then shame on them. We need some strong girl power in this world sometimes and I think your a great person to be bringing it. Thanks again! Next stop- your website! God Bless!

  • @BridgetRory Thanks lady! You are so sweet! XO Carolyn

  • great job...I have straighter hair so will take your advice not to cut too deep or drastic of layers however you said it....but this is very interesting and informative.....also just don't understand why people who do not like the video don't just move on! do they have so little in their lives that they need to criticize those trying to help others geesh! well thanx again!

  • @grammabb00 I wonder too, but there's always one in the crowd, isn't there? Best of luck to you. Take baby steps if you're unsure always. XO Carolyn

  • You have so much courage to cut your own hair! I want to do so very badly but my hair is so long, I have this fear it will look awful and I will regret it. Considering I cut my own bangs two weeks ago into front bangs which I haven't done myself in about 4 years..and I don't think they suit my face well without a shorter face frame. So I have a fear of doing my own full head. But you seem like just the sweetest person ever with honest advice, I'm subscribing:) God bless! <3

  • @serenityxoxo Bangs actually look better on a long face frame because they shorten the face... Maybe its the length of your bangs thats making you uncomfortable? Consider trying only the first cut in this video. It will only give you long layers and there's really no way to screw it up. You might also consider the easy layered V cut thats in my videos. (in the newer ones) I love that cut the best but it does give you a lot of layers. XO Carolyn

  • Hey you, what a sweet big hearted soul you are! A heart of gold, and a head of hair to match, haha! I have been wanting a change of hair style for decades! Being a single mom on food stamps hair stylists are out of the question. Then along came You! Yay. Okay, I AM GOING TO DO IT! Ha! Wish me luck! Thank you for inspiring me! Blessings to you and yours always!

  • @Gugelhupf101 Single moms rock! We sacrifice so much for our kids.. but its all good. Our children deserve so much! Not being able to get my hair cut by a stylist is why I taught myself how to cut my own hair. Its something they don't teach you in Cosmetology school. Had to experiment on my hair to figure this out but if I'm helping other people, then so be it. Hair grows back. lol Hope your hair turned out well! XO Carolyn

  • Hey Lady! I found your site about a year ago and love it. These days anytime I need a little 'perk up' I know just where to look for affordable solutions and great ideas. I enjoy doing things myself but never had the confidence to try. Paid for many a haircut I didn't like thats for sure. lol. Love your style AND your videos. They have a nice, real life, girlfriend feel. Keep 'em coming! Blessed Be.

  • @mztezzi Oh my gosh. I read your comment and tears started welling up in my eyes. You are such a sweet lady to say this! I am truly blessed with people like you supporting me and inspiring me to do more. Thank you! Most days, I wished I could divide myself into two people so I could get more accomplished. I am getting ready to do a major overhaul of my site (by myself) so I have my work cut out for me. In the meantime, I will also be back soon with another video. XO Carolyn

  • has any1 noticed yet that at @3:03 theres a man in the backround

  • @shadiibabe123 That man is my son sweetheart. Harmless and curious! lol XO Carolyn

  • @shadiibabe123 uh oh ya creepy

  • Stop talking. All the blah blah blah ruins any interest & patience a viewer has. You want people to marvel at your talents not be annoyed as you drone on, barely coherent, with bad audio.

Also use a basic plain painted wall as background. You would look beautiful with a burgundy or true red. This bedroom looks like generic, uninspired, housewife & doesnt reflect style or creativity.

Distinguish yourself from mediocrity as that awesome chick with the awesome hair video showing them how its done!

  • @ATOMICPINK69 I really appreciate constructive criticism but your message seems to be criticism only. To answer your comment however, I don't have any bare walls in my home, do you? If you'd like to give me money for a studio, I'd appreciate it! I use the room that is mine. Mediocre true, but its mine. I am far from being a housewife. I am not married and have supported a son with mental disabilities on my own for 20 years. I give away free advice about hair to help people.

  • @notaditdot - Well said. :-)

  • @firedancer357 Thanks! XO Carolyn

  • @ATOMICPINK69 The comments you made would have been better sent privately. Perhaps you should work on "style and creativity" when it comes to manners.

  • your hair looks great you have a nice thick head of hair . and this cut worked well=i am thinking of tryiong it i have been trimming my very long hair for afew mnths each time before i wash it .. and i am ready to do something else now

and i sure dont have alotta extra money to spend!! good job anbd i want to check out your site

  • @triptoheaveandho I have several other haircutting videos on youtube. Please check them all out. My favorite is my 'cut your own hair - easy layered V cut'. Money? Whats that? lol Stay sweet! Carolyn

  • Hey this was really easy .......u made it easy actually . thanx:)

  • The first few times I cut it I was very careful. Then, a couple months ago, I wasn't as careful and messed it up a little. Now it's grown out a bit but the shortest layers aren't blending with the longest ones. From my scalp to my earlobes it's very thick and bulky (always a problem area for me) and the longest part is thin. My hair is wavy so the shorter layers are wavy and the longest layer is straight and smooth. Any suggestions?
