  • @underwhere1992 Do You Want 2 Drag It Baby?! Okay, now, I think I changed the whole meaning... Smiles!

  • @underwhere1992 Everyone loves your response! Many things have changed over the years! Nothing seems to be as good as the classics!

  • I wonder if King Kat Walsh is still alive. Lucy looked 10 yrs younger than she was, she was 42 in the 3rd season b/c she was 40 when the first season started, so she was 41 in the 2nd season, so when the show ended she was 45 & Ethel 2 yrs older than her. Lucy was born in 1911 & Vivian Vance was born in 1909. Lucy did look young i I Love Lucy even though she was in her 40s, she made 40s look young

  • @zacefronswife100 he's not., I googled

  • @zacefronswife100 You know how it goes! A real woman never reveals her age or her henna rinse! But, Lucy was beautiful and marvelous!

  • i'm twelve and Reba is the only modern show i watch. i like i love lucy and the golden girls. and i agree people need to be more inspired by people like lucille ball instead of lady gaga. that's just filthiness. thank you for posting i needed a good laugh.

  • @brittany66079! Thank you, so much for posting and sharing your favorite shows with us! I LOVE LUCY & I always will! I just posted a response video that I would love for you to see where I sing on of Lucy's songs while dancing with a Soda Can! Please let me know what you think! It's called the Food Fight! I hope you find it inspiring and entertaining as Lucy!

  • @SusieQFitLife oh my word that was too funny. thank you for making me laugh. do you have anymore videos of I Love Lucy?

  • @underwhere1992 Swing dancing is back and going strong. Swing - Lindy Hop - Blues Dance - East Coast Swing/Jitterbug - Balboa - Charleston - Collegiate Shag - West Coast Swing - All That Swings every Thursday at the Attuck's Theater in Norfolk. Keep In Touch with all that swings! Check out SwingVirginia and meet the cool cats.

  • @shakenednostir Don't forget to tell us what you are swinging & dancing to these days! Keep moving & shaking!

  • Lucy is such a crackup it's almost annoying sometimes! LOL I still watch this like every night! :) It's so awesome to see good ole shows like this still around! :)))

  • @nsgutube Isn't it amazing how somethings never get too old! Like a fine wine, we preserve our Lucy! Thanks for watching!

  • And look at how much fun Lucy was having. She was dancing like it was a party...out there having FUN. It didn't' even look like it was rehearsed. And note the groove she was in. Totally in the zone as she danced.

Yep, she's definitely Ginger Rogers cousin!

  • @MsTexas73 II assume you have also seen (elsewhere on YouTube) Lucy's fab Jitterbug (at age 29, and sultry and gorgeous) in the l940 film Dance, Girls Dance. Her comic and dance and acting TIMING are always PERFECTly precise ... what an artist! And proud that Lucy is my mom's (if only 8th) Bigelow & Howe cousin. I had heard she&Ginger are cousins (see them on YTube Charlestoning, 1970). Do you know how they're cousins?

  • @JudgeJulieLit I never knew that they were cousins. However, the Film Dance, Girls Dance was during the same time that she met and fell in love with Desi Arnaz right?!

  • @SusieQFitLife Yes.

  • @JudgeJulieLit Yes, I have.

  • @MsTexas73 True. Lucy was a complete natural and made things look so simple. However, I know she took her work very seriously and worked very hard. A true gift!

  • @SusieQFitLife Indeed!

  • Gon' get it, Lucy! She wa JAMMIN'. Showing folks that dancing was what she did LONG before the acting happened. I always did like this episode. And any ep where she got to really dance...and also those few where she really got to sing...LURVE them!

Also, wasn't that the same guy from season 1 when Lucy and Ricky pretended to be old so the teen couple would stop[ crushing on them?

  • @MsTexas73 nope. this is arthur king cat walsh.

  • 0:29

  • @jeffreys2405 She sets up the scene really well!

  • I love this clip.

  • @illl7775able Totally my favorite clip too! I added a new one in the response video too!

  • @underwhere1992 What a minute! aRe you telling me that you are not dancing like this anymore? I may actually re-inact this clip and post it on Youtube. Now I just need to find the cute guy that knows how to do some of these moves! If you find him first please post your remake response video so we can all watch it!

  • @underwhere1992 people still dance like this... just not mainstream all over the media.

  • Awesome!

  • @MsStrongheart This is one of my favorite posts!

  • *smile* After seeing the first clip I wonder how many rehersal (bad english?) she needed...

  • @khtx Uh, Oh! Does that mean my english was bad or were you talking about Ricky?

  • @SusieQFitLife Lol. No, what I meant was that my english isn´t very good and I don´t know if MY writing was correct.

  • @khtx Your English is perfect! You are too funny! Smile!

  • @khtx You're writing is just fine because I can read it! Are you from Cuba like Ricky Ricardo?

  • The tune is Stompin' (Stomping) at the Savoy, written by Edgar Samson and made famous by Benny Goodman.

Lucy is sooooooo hot in this vid.

King Kat can't keep up with her.

Watch for the little hip shake which the censors tried to cut out.

  • @loocee95 Really! Loocee95, how do you know so much? You keep seeing things that I haven't seen and I have watched the show soooo many times. So the hip shake was too seductive?

  • i agree. we should bring it back! :)

  • @kboen180 I would hope that you are still dancing like this too! Just tell me that you are dancing every week at least!

  • @kboen180 I'm with you let's bring back this style of dance again! What's old is always new!

  • Thank you for this clip. I was searching for the one where she does the jitterbug with her sight.

  • @lunarstar11 Not a problem. I love to reintroduce great things that will inspire people to move!

  • You know, it doesn't even matter how old Lucy was, that number is just so dang HOT..... King Kat is obviously way behind the curve on that one... Notice how Lucy comes out in time with the beat and boppin' and King is kinda all over the place. My guess is Lucy taught HIM how to Lindy!..Still king Kat is fantastic and of course he makes the show!...

BTW I play piano in a big band and we do that exact arrangement of Stompin' At the Savoy.

The key change makes the tune....Lucy Rocks!!

  • Not bad for a 42 year old woman. God that woman had more talent in her little finger than most actors today have in their whole bodies.

  • Yea..How true...I look at Lucy, Donna Reed, Leave It To Beaver, The Munsters etc and I wonder, where has TV gone? We now have 800 channels of pure garbage. Where is Archie? Edith?Maude? Rhoda?Mash? etc. IOW where has the talent gone? The Honeymooners? Patty Duke and tons of others...hysterical shows with great acting...

    Today?

Quick...Name 5 top ten shows your kids will be watching in 20 years...I can't name one...

Lucy was sexy without being filthy.....

That seems to be an impossibility today.

  • @loocee95 Desi Arnaz once said that TV shows like I love Lucy happens "once in a lifetime". He was a genius behind the scenes & Lucy was an untouchable GEM! An impossibility you say... but, I hope not. I would love to see something newly produced that could be as timeless as this classic! Sexy meant classy back then too, I believe. You are definitely right loocee95! Check out the new video response I posted. A remix of Cuban Pete's song in the Food Fight for kids!

  • BTW I didn't know she was 42 at that time!

    Are you sure about that?

  • Yeah she waas born in 1912 and Desi was born in 1916. In fact she had her first baby at 38 years of age which in the fifties would have been considered as to old.

  • Yea that makes sense.I'm in the music biz and I just marvel at how kool that number is. I've always loved the Stompin' tune but that arrangement is tops..better than Benny Goodman's for sure. Lucy sure looks like she is having a time of it! Ethel is smiling too!

Even Ricky seems happy although his "conducting" is way, way off. Hands up on downbeat etc.. I guess it isn't Cuban Pete or that Taxi song he always sings. This is by far one of the best Lucy episodes IMHO..

BTW is King Kat still alive?

  • Hi, Loocee95, I love your screen name! Thanks for your great comments, Television is definitely changing and I am working to get my own show on TV so please subscribe to my channel. I hope you too are dancing and having fun with all of these numbers yourself. Plan a weekend out and do a wild number on the dance floor and be free to be yourself!

  • @loocee95 I didn't realize that Ricky was off! I will have to watch that part again. Lucy is the best. I want to be just like her when I grow up! I searched Google for King Kat and I learned about other Cats. Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for that!

  • Actually, you're one year off.

Lucy was born in 1911, and Desi was born in 1917.

    Lucy: August 6, 1911

    Desi: March 2, 1917

  • No one will mess with you AudrainAugust, but Proudkiwi1965 posted a question that I think you might have an answer to in regards to publicity age differences.

  • she was actually born 1911. u added one year

  • Sorry about that. U r right. I had read it in an biography abotu her and Desi and then read hers that she wrote herself and found out that the other one was wrong. Thank you for correcting me.

  • no problem

  • Just remembered why I thought that. I read somewhere that she had taken a year on to her age and Desi had taken a year off his to make their age difference a little closer so that people would not comment on what she thought was a big age difference. Is that correct? Please let me know what you have heard?

  • Hi, ProudKiwi1965 for your comments you really are on top of your trivia! I am going to reply to AudrainAugust, I bet he knows for sure! Keep watching and don't forget to subscribe if you haven't already! Thanks for watching!

  • yea that iz true. she only did dat so people wouldnt think she was too old for desi. but i throught people would have known they was lying. if they had biographies in da 50ss someone should have noticed something was wrong.

  • That is interesting. The truth is that people are more accepting of older men in the public eye then compared to women. Lucy always joked on the show about not even knowing her real age with Ethel having lied about it so often.

  • lol dats true!

  • Lucy was born in 1911 and Desi in 1917. But yes, during the 1940s, Lucy often said that both she and Desi were born in 1915 -- shaving a few years off her age and adding a few to his.

  • I am not sure if she was exactly 42yrs of age at the time of that clip, but you are definitely right as Lucy stated "I have more talent in my little finger than most people do in their whole body". Spoken like a real Diva, she was!

  • @proudkiwi1965 She had extremely talented fingers, Lucille Ball because she was a natural who was born to be on TV.

  • The tune is "Stomping At The Savoy (a hotel in Kansas City BTW . Notice how Lucy is a much better dancer than King Cat . She bops and bends in time to the music where he is kind of stiff. The band sounds great which is a real change since they sound horrible playing the usual Cuban Caby crap Ricky sings.

Lucy, is super sexy.Notice her wiggling her hips and cute butt a few times which reportedly drove the censors off the chart.

Now why can't today's dancers dance like that???

  • The song is actually "StomPing at the Savoy", lol. And they are dancing the Lindy, aka the Lindy Hop, one of the most fabulously athletic and fun dances ever created. Swing dancing is amazing to do AND to watch!!! GREAT exercise too, obviously! Thanks, Susie!

  • Yep that's the Lindy Hop alright....

It's technically "Stompin' at the Savoy" a Benny Goodman tune although others did it as well.

I love swing dancing although as a musician (piano) I was always playing in the band so I never learned.

FWIW this arrangement of the tune is one of the best I have ever heard.

The key change makes the tune.

And of course Lucy is the babe.....

  • Wow that was awesome thank you for so much.

Thanks for posting. ♥ I love Lucy ♥

  • hey wuts that song called thats playing in the background when ur talking in the beginning??

  • Hey Sandman! Glad you liked it. It was used for a reality show and I loved the tune its by Daddy Yankee - Mayor Que Yo. Now are you going to subscribe so you can hear more hot tunes?

  • Hey Susie, you keep posting Lucy, and I'll keep watching! (Maybe I'll even move a little, too!)

You seem, (at the beginning of the clip), to have a great personality and a fun, approachable style. You go, Girl!

  • Thanks, Justinelottering! I will email that response to xxcharmed Thanks!

  • Do u happen to know what song their dancing to susie?

  • Hi, Charmed! What a good question, you know I do not know the answer to this. This sounds like a 1940's Big Band type of genre, however I will try to do a Yahoo Answers search on this for you to try to track it down.

  • I LOVE LUCY. This is such a great little clip. The song is "Stomin' at the Savoy" by Benny Goodman

  • @justinelottering Hey! Do you remember watching this I Love Lucy clip a few years back? I have posted a new response video clip where I sing over Ricky Ricardo's Cuban Pete song! If you would like to see it!

  • Charmed! Justinelottering was kind enough to answer your music question: LOVE LUCY. This is such a great little clip. The song is "Stomin' at the Savoy" by Benny Goodman

  • @xxcharmed1xx Are you still dancing to Lucy? I wanted to let you know that I posted a new video response where I sing to Ricky Ricardo's Cuban Pete song in the Food Fight for kids video. Enjoy!
