I found out about The Smiths and Morrissey by looking through my Dad's collection of albums and they have quickly became one of my favourite bands. It makes me wish i was a teenager in the 1980's so i could witness The Smiths in all their glory. As Morrissey once said "Popular music is slowly being laid to rest in every conceivable way... the ashes are already about us if we could but notice them." what has the world done to music :/...

@DAI2I2E7V Why do you have to have been a teenager in the 80's to enjoy the music?? You have the music available to you now. I saw the Smiths in about '87 and was totally in love with them. My fifteen year old son saw Morrissey play last summer and was equally blown away! You're both lucky you have parents with such good taste!!! :-)

@PeasGraveny I was thinking maybe there was too much emphasis on Morrissey and Johnny Marr (although, rightfully so) so they threw a big THE in front of the drums and bass. And of course, partly for the humor.

@theguyfromplt A "Roman nose" means a nose somewhat aquiline. This type of nose became known in the Celto-Teutonic countries as a “Roman” nose because it was less typical among people of Celto-Teutonic phenotype and was most typically encountered by them when in contact with Romans of Mediterranean phenotype. Maybe, there is also a religious meaning behind the use of the word "Roman" (e.g. Catholic). Who knows... :-)
