  • siouxsie is kilin this shyt go siouxsise

  • I'll never forget when I first heard this song at 16(1986). I was paralyzed until it was over. One of the greatest.

  • Man... Siouxsie was so damn hot back in the day.

  • i love this...... two of my heroes performing together at the same time on the same stage....... wow..... brings back memories of being there!

  • That guitar sound is so Robert Smith - great song!

  • Fuck Israeli politics.

  • do it SIOUXSIE

  • Robert is not better than Mcgeoch.

  • @BRStormysea do you mean not a better guitar player? watch A Forest in Orange or Pornography in Munich if you havent already. :)

  • i was -7 when she did this gig, but i love her !

  • Robert Smith!nice guitar work!

  • one of the best bands/songs of all time.

  • This video proves that SHE transcends time and space! Thank you for posting it!!!

  • LOVE IT.

  • look @ robbers gooooo..phwar what a combo!

  • i love it

  • Has anybody seen my time machine?

  • I'll say it again- Helena Bonham Carter: you cannot be her---EVER !

  • superb

  • Punks at the Albert Hall!!! wow, so cool this happened. i was too young still at school.

  • I was 15...great memories...

  • Great singer and one sultry chick.....

  • Muito BOM! Cool

  • even though we're all alone we are never on our own....when we're singing, singing

  • 9 persons like Justin Bieber

  • 9 persons like Justin Bieber

  • I was there at 17. Sioux was my role model. Don't get many like her these days.

  • Helena Bonham Cater...you CANNOT be her...

  • I LOVE this song!

  • so sensual, so attractive, mesmerize me

  • What a great voice....

  • rokpool.com loves this video!

  • Unfortunately still as actual as in 1983

  • would anybody happen to know if they performed arabian knights at this gig too? there used to be a video up of they performing that song and she was wearing that same ensemble and playing her finger cymbals. i wasn't sure if it was the royal albert performance or another. but they took it down for some odd reason.....it's the best version i've seen live.

  • at all of you it's called singing atonally.....have any so-called great vocalist

try and replicate this......they'd fail miserably

  • Siouxsie is a Godess.....I don't care if this music is from 20 years ago.....I'm just stuck in a Siouxsie time.....She makes me happy and God how I love her voice...Siouxsie is in my blood forever....

  • So... This is the real Goth!!!! Good lesson for young people

  • @darekzimny23

Siouxsie herself could not disagree more.

  • Fuck Lady Gag Gag, fuck Kei$ha, and all the modern pop music garbage out now. Souxsie INVENTED her own unique and bizzare style and wrote and sang great songs.

  • With regard to Siouxsie's clinkers. Note the absence of a monitor system. "Blood into Wine" is just incredibly flat, flat flat flat. As I noted earlier. Speaking from 100's of hours of stage experience. Singing in key can be very difficult when singing live with a really loud band. This is why you sometimes see singers with a finger in the ear. Siouxsie wouldn't look so good doing that but probably should in situations like this. I've done this myself many, many times.

  • I like all of siouxsie and the banshee videos, i was only one when she did this gig

  • Qualcuno mi sà dire gentilmente che diavolo di chitarra è che stà suonando Robert Smith ????????? grazie

  • no better than the banshess siousie is sweet

  • she sounds a bit flat here and there... and I don't think it's deliberate. It happens. Good tune, great band.

  • @talkingwall yes i noticed that when i got he album twenty years ago..drugs effects i think...

  • @delavg someone below had written that it was deliberate. there's no way that's deliberate. I've performed on stage myself many, many times as a musician and singer and I know how easy it is, especially with a loud band and poor monitors to fall a bit flat. Clearly this is what is happening on Nocturnal. It's still a great release, I own it, but it is far from perfect because of Siouxsie's occasional "clinkers".

  • @talkingwall I just read the comment. they said it wasn't deliberate

  • Pure genius - music.

  • siouxsie at her best!!!!

  • I just realized Sound Garden's "Black Hole Sun" burrowed a bit from this....I HATE that fuckin song OMG fucking GOD.(very over-played mediocre song)

  • Siouxsie and the Banshees were had perfromed in Tel Aviv in Dan Cinema in 1983, with Robert Smith on guitar. I still have the tape of that show. I should upload it...

  • @rtmnmk

    Yes you should!

  • Can't..stop..groovin..my ass...off to this! XD

  • so envious of anyone who was there.

  • Great song, but it's so funny how Siouxsie can never sing it in tune, live. lol

ps: I got this on video tape at the Salvation Army store, years ago for $1.

  • @danielscissorhands

yeah but her voice creates the tension. Jazz music is based on off-setting keys, or chords...playing notes half a semi-tone below or above makes people think 'that sounds strange' or out of tune. If you are playing the guitar try dropping the major half a fret and you will see what I mean. I'm not sure Souixsie is that smart perhaps her voice is just crap...cheers

  • @kiwikidzach I believe it is more likely these are clinkers. Hey,if Miles Davis can leave the clinkers in there then why shouldn't Siouxie? He believes it's about artistic integrity. She's absolutely off key in a few places on Nocturne. It's still a great record to add to your collection.

  • Sioux and Smith together. It's like they knew what I've always wanted to see, and did it. Is it fair to say my life is complete now? XD

Such an addictive bassline. I've always thought that.

  • The band is great they look good, but Siouxsie unfortunately so flat---Sorry I like the banshees and Robert but the vocals are so disappointing I can't listen to it.

  • @yonnii I have to agree with yonnii. I love Siouxsie, but she's tone deaf. I've heard numerous live recordings where she sounds flat and off key. Being from the original "punk" school it might be more acceptable, but that still doesn't make it easy to hear.

  • They're not flat. They're meant to be like that!

  • @yonnii

    Gosh,you're an idiot!

  • Robert Smith at the guitar?????????

  • The Banshees at their best!

  • You guys Talking about my Siouxsie? Love everyone.

  • that voice cant be beat!

  • @iluvgoldfrapp Please do not beat the voice. There is enough violence around. Can you change?

  • love iiiiiiiiiiiiiit

  • Fucking Great!

  • very nice!!!

  • pegajoso el groove

  • Siouxsie & The Banshees are one of those rare bands that sound better live than recorded. The album version of this song sounds very flat and dull. This band really comes alive on stage.

  • also killer drummer and afcourse the guitar dilights

  • yyyyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • still looking for the best 'live' vocal performance of this song, sorry couldn't listen to whole thing.

  • @ShadyPastel best sound ever, what r u talking abaut

  • Sound of the eighties were famous, don't take a wrinkle.

  • heh. i think nobuo uematsu was a fan of souxsie and the banshees. heh. hehhhheheheheheheheh.

  • I love this live version!!!! it is killer!

  • Sioxsie is the Queen goddess of dark wave!! if that is what u call this.

  • I like version better then the 1981 version...sweet!

  • Is that a tambourine or brass knuckles she's playing?

  • @ysbaddaden2003 it's a brass knuckourine, it's a percussion instrument that doubles as a defensive weapon.

  • Sir Robert Smith and Dame Siouxsie! Each has no equal! Nuff said.

  • Ya david bowie is the first sir in my opinion. The cure pixies all great bands are the follow ups from the god of extravangace

  • Rob's take on that guitar break at 2:07 is so great. Better than the album version. Steve's bass kills on it as well.

This song and Switch (again because of the guitar bit in the middle) are my fave things from this set.

My sister was at this gig. I wasn't. I was 10. ARGH!

  • @richcr4 The only reason he strums it like that is because he had trouble playing some of John McGeochs guitar parts and thats the only hard part in the song.Personally I think the album version is much better and if you search on Israel Live 1981 and watch the John McGeoch version, it's much better and he manages to play the album version (and Siouxsie isn't singing as flat as she does the whole way through Nocturne)

  • @mindtpi Have just watched the 1981 version (again) and John McGeochs playing is much better. I'm a big fan of Robert Smith but as a guitarist McGeoch was incredible.

  • @bedfordjezard Absolutely.

  • Siouxsie, awesome, with Robert Smith in the guitar

  • WOW!! I just found this band where have I been...They remind me of the cure..see what songs I can find on this band wow I knew they were around I just never checked them out...I feel deprived.

  • Nocturne seguramente está entre mis 5 discos favoritos. lol

  • Is this after or before Juju?

  • @abacazabaca

after - all the juju songs were on these gigs

  • @rottern

I'm quite possessed by juju at this time. I do respect robert smith as a banshee. Do you know of footage/live recordings from Siouxie during the juju release?

  • Aye, search for the track with 1981 after them - eg Spellbound 1981. Juju was this year and there is some good stuff on here. Great period.

  • @abacazabaca Should be a few promo videos from the Juju period. Great album!

  • @rottern After Dreamhouse, Juju is my favourite! So dark and frankly scary, but appealing in a special way!

  • @bartonim loved A Kiss In The Dreamhouse. Circle is my favourite Banshees song. So bizarre and just amazing

  • She's always kind of flat live. Still good though.

  • Awesome!!!!!! Siouxsie where have you gone????

  • @spamevader She did that solo record a couple of years ago; hope she's busy working on a new one!

  • One of the best live performances ever of any band, period!

  • @aetechllc Certainly you need to get out a little more often. It's a so so performance because of the vocal clinkers for an otherwise jammin' tune with a fantastic, drivin', ostinato bass line. It's good. It's certainly far far far from best.

  • I knew of The Cure before Siouxsie and now I love them both. Their styles remind me of the other. It's like Siouxsie is the female Robert and vise versa. BUT PUTTING THEM TOGETHER! THAT'S JUST PURE AWESOMENESS!

  • Still the Queen of Punk...always. :))

  • QUE PASADA, LA MESCA

  • The Goddess of the night...

  • Simply brilliant!

  • My God X Factor is SHIT . Siouxsie your a Goddess

  • She has always being thought so my friend.

  • de puta madre

  • 07808254140----Robert Smith is a legend! who the Fuck are you!!????

  • Siouxsie and pogo :-) Fun times

  • @ 07808254140, like i wouldn't be so pissed if he wasn't that well known. i mean its like asking who's that guy harrison.

  • A tribute to my Sister Susanne ! thanks

  • dave gregory was in xtc

  • hardly massive i know. but axe master dave gregory never dropped such clangers! smith scored massive own goal

  • ??? 2.15, 3.45 ? rien de spécial à noter. Mistakes ?

  • lol hardly massive

  • Robert Smith from The Cure

  • ur kidding me right? how can u not have heard of robert fucking smith? he was in an episode of SOUTH PARK. that's how famous he is

  • haha, he was famous a long time before that

  • yeah i know. it was like the first time i heard about him and the cure so i was using it to say its really really hard not to hear of robert smith.

  • yeah, screwed up kids now with their media and internet.. like those who think goths are emo... gimme a damn break!

  • That's what I always thought. Apparently that is not the case? School me, I want to know. :)

  • Another reason i like u-tube

  • haophil, just cause he was born in 1983 does not mean he dont know anything about the punk movement--im sure you know Japan got bomed in 1945 and im pretty sure you were not born than

  • lol spikypunker, born in 1983?

what do you have to do with the punk movement?

you are too young, you know nothing.

  • Pathetic mate. No one can like punk music because they missed the fucking "punk movement" get a clue dude. And anyway i liked punk when i was younger but now have grown up and look back at "punk icons" and think they're a bunch of hippy hating cunts. So i'm pretty glad i wasnt "part of the movement"

  • Ever notice that the beginning riff of this song is used again in "Fasincation Street???" Smith was "Going Green" back in the 80's. Nice.....

  • Amazing quality! Nice of you to post this brilliant piece of live footage...!

  • You're an idiot.

  • Well....i'm not but ok :)

  • spikypunker: name those better bands.

  • Robert's playing to stiffly, and needs more vibrato effect on the guitar

  • the perfect song!! I love this band and most of their peers. yes its true, new music blows. no1 believes in being themselves any more. they dont make em like they use 2

  • robert smith is so cool, he really likes playing with siouxsie.

  • It's a Christmas song- it has nothing to do with the country.

  • I truly miss that era of good music. Gosh, I'm sick of pretty much anything after mid 90's with a few exceptions.

  • exaaaactly the same I think !!!, fuck new music, never is going to be the same as this kind of music !!!!!, cheers !

  • i totaly agree

  • Maybe, but the reason they're better is because siouxsie and other 80's bands cleared the way for them. Siouxsie sioux is a legend, these days few band-leaders are as powerful and charismatic as she was.

  • lol ok i can see that she has fans, but no, theres many powerfull figures in todays music scene, and far more powerfull ones before her that paved the way instead. She has cool hair tho, she'd probably get it :)

  • Haha, spikeypunker,it conjures up a spiky haired

punk rocker, you wer probably born in the late 80's

siouxsie was around right in the beginning at the start of the pistols 1976,who invented punk was it Malcolm McLaren or viv Westwood? (a) it was a combination of both and it certainly inspired YOU!

  • Check out Robert Smith on the guitar!

  • A great performance - look at people bounce in front of the stage! She got better and better throughout the 80's -- one of the great 80's emotive singers. Her band is tight (McGeoch) too. They been sort of forgotten but they were good good good!

  • Robert Smith of The Cure on guitar here.

  • she is so great and amazing

  • You can rent this dvd on netflix if you want to see the whole thing. It also comes with some weird video where all they're all dressed like alice from alice in wonderland.

  • YES!!!!!! I have been trying to figure out what that was from!

  • Cool! I'm glad that helped someone. :)

  • A UK documentary called 'Play At Home'

    features The Glove too

  • stupendo.....

  • Siouxsee and Robert bring back many good memories. Learning to swim with bands that have no iconic credibility, classic.

  • amazing!

  • Where's the great "sacre du printemps" intro gone?

  • killer fucken bass!!

  • @u2control : Agree !

  • @u2control agree !!!!! ....... some of the few bass players that plays like simon gallup (the cure) and andy rourke (the smiths) ..... cheers !!

  • can i? ok!@ umn what was i asking again?

  • i was at this.fantastic night!
