@dan007iel Len's don't make you a good photographer! It's about your eye for the art of photos. You could have a little Rebel XTi and a crappy kit lens and still be amazing. On the other hand, you could have an amazing camera like the 7D (in this case) and a sexy 85mm f/1.2, and be horrible at photography, just like this guy.

I hate to say this, but I'm better than you at photography, although we're the same age. I'm trying so hard to save up and buy a $450 lens. Meanwhile, you have a lot better equipment than I do, and you haven't uploaded any new pictures to your flickr page. Not hating or anything, it's your own money you can do whatever you wanna do with it, you can even burn it if you want. But at least don't waste your money like this, you should appreciate the stuff you have!

@GizmoBitz Its for tripod. In other word, u can mount it to the tripod. if u use this lens with the tripod mounted to the body, the head of the lens comes heavier and will be unstable.

what did you film this on? and is there any canon lenses with full time auto focus for video on the 7d? I'm dying to find something, because although the manual focus look it cool for film, auto focus would be nice for ensuring sharpness where it's important.

Hey.. one of the things i learned in my photography courses is that photography has no creative license. Everyone shoots different thats the beauty of each photograph. Let him get w/e he wants he will learn and become better at it eventually. saying his flickr is " not good" is harsh. to me it sounds like u live of rules for photography, which in reality dont exsist. There are only guidelines. not rules.

Nice unboxing! :) This is a great lens, bought my yday and are very happy with the lens so far. A big upgraded from my other canon 70-200 4L. Feels just a little bit sharper around the corners on the 5D Mark II then the 7D though.

one of my most favorite lens. Get yourself x2 converter on it and you gonna get whooping 400mm at 5.6 (on 7D it's even more because of croped sensor)!. How do you find walking with it around the town? real head turner isn't ? ;)
