vanchy58.- Hombre, eso de perfecta, me permito refutarlo. He escuchado a Bruson en el teatro muchas vecesy la voz es mediana/pequena en volumen, los graves no existen (por debajo de un fa) y los agudos son acceptables, sin ser ni mucho menos fantasticos (maxima nota en el teatro un fa sostenido. Su sol es bastante malo)

Pero, su calidadad es de lo mejor, su linea de canto, impecable, su intencion dramatica impresionanate. Lo escucho muchisimo.

Renato Bruson es uno de los grandes intérpretes de Rigoletto que han existido. Su voz de baritono es casi perfecta y la mayoria de los otros roles verdianos los interpreto con gran maestria y entrega artistica.

Rigoletto = Stoyan Popov ! Cantava il repertorio russo di basso-baritono,e nel finale di Rigoletto cantava la naturale !!! Dal vivo nel 1968 nel Nabucco si sentivano soltanto due voci ,la sua e quella di Ghena Dimitrova .

Bruson, a very fine singer, is overtaxed in this duet. Andrea Rost did have an easy top, i saw a phantastic Gilda or hers once, but probably in order not to outshine Her colleague she did not go up here. Muti could have played a part in this.

I do not think so. You can buy the live CD of this performance and you can hear the ovation after the duett. La Scala audience do not vaste their bravos for someone with whom they are not satisfied. Just see what has happened with Alagna in Aida some years ago.

Qui è assolutamente tutto sbagliato, dal tempo staccato da Muti subiti spedito alla pronuncia ostrogota della Rost alla povertà vocale di un grande baritono che fu. Il finale è penoso: si sbandiera come filologia l'uso di cantanti ormai a fine carriera, privi degli acuti che un tempo, invece esibivano fieri (Bruson), o di quelli che il registro acuto non l'hanno mai avuto (Rost).

An excellent video. Bruson is one of the best "acting" Rigolettos. He really looks the part (no phony age makeup) and you really feel his anger and lust for revenge. Andrea Rost is nice (not too chirpy, not to heavy) with a rich, full timbre, but her acting is not as good as her singing. (She is gorgoeus, though). I guess the conductor is Muti (no interpolated high notes). Interesting use of Italian subtitles (they are singing in Italian!).
