@xxoBOMaxx You make a little tiny circle motion on the letter, it then types it twice. Sounds weird but works well. Capitals you swipe up above the keyboard area. Nice tricks.

It's faster on the iPhone. With swype you can only use one hand and you have to travel the distance of the whole keypad.

@caairney16 Sounds like a faulty accelerometer. Try downloading a game such as Asphalt 5 Demo, and playing. If it allows you to steer by tilting the phone, the accelerometer works, and it's another issue.

Samsung Captivate is for AT&T

Samsung Fascinate is for Verizon

Samsung Vibrant is for T-Mobile

Samsung Epic is for Sprint

Samsung Mesmerize is for U.S. Cellular

swype is friggin AWESOME.. i can type so much faster on my phone now, its silly. SOMETIMES it gets it wrong, but most of the time you can get some big words going and BAM, good to go. haha. swype is the best texting feature since t9.

Does the Samsung Galaxy S have privacy lock? Usually on the Samsung phone they have security option to lock a certain thing on your phone e.g. SMS or photos. You have a specific password to access the certain thing you locked.

in case anyone is wondering swype is really really fast. I haven't seen a video yet that has a person that can really swype quickly. I played with one today getting mine tmrw. If you know the positions of the letters on the keyboard well its really really fast.

@Menyboyxx When you have the keyboard visible, if memory serves me right, small cog bottom left, touch and hold, select input method, choose swype. Sorry if that is wrong, but it is from a tired memory bank ;)

@lilalolpop Not heard about Swype coming to this. A lot of the apps are free and some you have to pay for. The Android Market shows this clearly before you install them.

Hi, me again, are you certain about the Jack compatibility with other headphones? I just saw a review saying it doesn't accept other headphones tried by the reviewer (V-Moda and Ultimate Ears). I myself use a pioneer se-cl21m-j-k (best earphones I've used) on my iphone 3G and as I am considering moving to the Galaxy S (thanks to your post) am concerned the jack might not work.

Even though I have never tried one myself, I still think the Swype method would be less productive than normal typing methods. I might be too picky but I really dislike how when you change orientation of the phone, there is no smooth transition from portrait to landscape like the iPhone does. Small things can make the experience much pleasing! But anyways great review!
