This is so hilarious to watch. My Shepherd does not howl. If I howl, he just stares at me as if I have lost my mind. If I sing high pitch he will come over to check me out, but will not howl. I've shown him these videos and he stares at them each. When the white female shepherd tries to talk no matter where he is in the house he will begin to bark! He knows her voice.

Hehe my GSD has hundreds of dollars-worth of obliterated squeaky toys. Most are/were plush animals ripped apart with the chintzy squeaker silenced. I never bought any toys for him that "wouldn't die" in 15-20 seconds. I shoulda gotten the cheese squeaky early on and saved myself a fortune!!?

Great observation. Most behaviorist conclude that the squeeky toy inside stimulates a kill bit. Natural behavior.

When the sqeek doesn't stop, like it normally would after the animal expires, the Dog get's frustrated that it won't die, so to speak.

It isn't that the dog thinks this plastic thing is real, just that it won't die. ; )
