look at the bottom of the psp and right next to the screw is a bar code read it, mine says psp 3001

when your psp is on, plug it into the ac adapter. then take out your battery and put in the Pandora battery then turn it off, or leave it on which ever one.

You can format the magic memory stick and put games on it, but you can't play games with the pandora battery. The pandora battery will only work to install custom firmware.

To install custom firmware, you need a magic memory stick and a pandora battery. Once you are done installing custom firmware, you can format the memory stick to make it normal but you can't make the pandora battery normal again.
