i havent read anyones comments. i am an electrician after having a quick look at how the buildings fell.... i knew straight away that the buildings fell straight into the most resistance. if anyone here is a sparky they would know how lazy nature really is, e.g the flow of electrons - path of least resistance.

I am also an engineer, working to attain my masters degree. And my opinion is that the dynamics that rule such an incident are very complex. So it is kind of irresponsible to say you understand what happened just by looking some videos. Degrees must not be used to back up incomplete data, that cheapens your degree and also the profession.

If you put it like that, I think it is a possibility that heat ruined the structure, temperature variations cause very interesting effects in materials. I have seen steel break like glass when frozen. I think the same happens when you heat it up. There are tables with ratios how much strength you loose per Kelvin. And when you add the detail that a plane struck the building But the truth is I do not really understand how it happened. Dynamics in collisions are very complex.

ok. lets say the steel was bending- would that cause the building to fall in 10 seconds and shred it to dust? wouldn't it just bend?

or just cause a local collapse?I'm not an engineer,I've never passed one course in science- but I see a building being demolished, and the lower floors giving in before the top floors fell.

Look at the fire caused by the planes; doesn't black smoke mean that the fire is dying out?

aren't these buildings meant to withhold the impact of a crash??

The floors above the impact zones didn't collapse at first because they wern't structurally damaged. Makes sense to me. Pilots tilted wings intentionally to damage as many floors as impossible. 2nd tower hit fell first because impact zone had to support more lbs., something like 200 million lbs. I think.

According to measurements from two separete seismic measuring stations, the towers fell in 8 seconds and 11 seconds respectively. Meaning 10 floors worth of trusses, core columns, exterior columns, bolts and welds all failed each second over 80-90 intact stories. Even the 911 Commission report corroborated these collapse figures. You do realize how preposterous that sounds don't you?

If the exterior damage and minor interior damage was enough to undermine the structures integrity, don't you think the building would have collapsed immediately, as the Italian gent suggests? Or given said damage was largely restricted to one corner, the top would have just snapped off?
