  • lmao good, im not the only one whos here because of 3:54

  • Fuck this shit, my brain isnt ready

  • The funny part about people not knowing what to do at 3:54, I did it first try by mistake lol. I fell when I didn't mean to then i rewinded and tried to jump on the thing while it was in the air falling. All of a sudden when i was jumping for it I see it hit my shadow and and was like wtf if my finger wouldnt have twitched i would probably have been there for days

  • gawd that 3:54 is ridiculous OMFG stared at it for at least an hour =(

  • omfg 3:54 are you kidding me

  • wanna lay a proper plattformer? rayman origins, want the best? super mario galaxy.

    not this crap/

  • @masterpatric07 r u a troll or just retarded this is just a puzzle game nothing like super mario galaxy, just because ur too stupid to solve the puzzles doesnt mean u have to bash it

  • i think my xbox is glitching cus the piece at 8:00 i do the exact same. i wait more before opening the 1st door so my shadow is slower but the gate never lifts....

  • 3:54 hard?? I made it almost instantly, it seemed so obvious to me ^^ on the other hand, the last piece at 8:00 took me ages...

  • I stuck for months on 3:54 until this second.

  • THANK YOU!! you're my hero!

  • i cant believe how long it took me to get the leftmost/first puzzle piece of the second level...

  • I never yelled WHAT THE FUCK so often after seeing the solution to a puzzle. Agreed, big time mindfuck, and the best one I've seen for a long, long time.

  • Thank you for 3:53 :)

  • Kko

  • lol I got stuck on this boss battle,it looks so easy o.0

  • this game should be called 'mind fuck'

  • there are no indication of the mechanics or rules, impossible without a guide at least the first levels till you understand the mechanics,

  • @masterpatric07 yea it kinda pisses me off.. its not that its some peices are impossibly hard to strategize over.. you just have no fucking clue a part of the game would work a certain way to get it. i.e 3:54

  • @crustytowel i highly recommend STAY AWAY FROM THIS GAME AT ALL COST!

  • @masterpatric07 just finished my playthrough. only cheated on the peice at 3:54 so ima say thats not to shabby

  • i didn't like this one 'cause I never knew you could bounce the monsters up by being under them... I don't know where you would figure that out on your own... I guess 'cause it's the only possible way to do it... "so i need the monster to be higher when i hit it... ok how do i do that? maybe be under it" LOL

  • I can't believe this game, it will never stop surprising me! (Although most of the concepts were already used in other games, these puzzles are mind-sexing!)

    3:53, unbelievable.

  • this is the hardest most mindfuckingest most amazing game conceived by a human brain

  • I couldn't figure out fragile companion, so now i'm here.

  • did you figure all this stuff out on your own ?

  • I got fragile companion on the first try by accident.

  • Wow- I solved a lot of other levels with no help, but "window of Opportunity" was just too mind-bending for me to see the solution to. Even with your help, it took several tries to realize that I had to release my shadow 2-3 times. Brilliant- thanks.

  • Wow- I solved a lot of other levels with no help, but "window of Opportunity" was just too mind-bending for me to see the solution to. Even with your help, it took several tries to realize that I had to release my shadow 2-3 times. Brilliant- thanks.

  • This was always the most disturbing chapter for me, the room with no caption kind of tugs at your heartstrings if you imagine the person with the key being your shadow jumping into a pit of BURNING spikes to pass it along.

  • WOW!!!

  • THX man!

  • Man i love this game. I managed to get all the puzzles on my own except 3:54. It's just as nasty as all the other tricks in the game but .... somehow i never thought of the obvious.... thanks for the video!

  • this is BrainFuck!!!!

    First Room Depress.....Last Room SUICIDE!!!!!!!!

  • I have absolutely no clue how you did the 5:40 part. Tried it for a good hour with your method and couldn't do it. Anyone else having trouble there, check out darthblingbling's World 5 walkthrough...makes A LOT more sense for that part.

  • 2:32 Fuck! ;-)

  • 3:44 Thank you very much. ; )

  • @Oscarete1 LOL same problem haha!

  • Thankyou. very helpful

  • 2:25 That's what I tried (and failed initially). Thanks man, I just needed to try it again..

  • damn im so proud , i have finished this game yesterday without any help ^^

IMO one of the best games this generation

  • Very nice

  • are you fuking srs?

    fuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • Wow I never thought the hand the key off to myself through my shadow...only in a game like Braid would that sentence make any sense!

  • my shadow wont jump across the spiked pit, wtf!

  • 3:54 .... is 1 of the 2 pieces I'm missing in total, the rest I figured out without walkthrough so far.... but damn ! Good thing I looked it up, would've taken ages for me to try something that weird xDDD

  • Holy crap haha wow

  • omg... must.. have... brain.. back...

  • 3:54

    AAAAARGH

  • now i know how to get that puzzle piece at 3:54 i wasn't hitting up i was just trying to jump on top of it and i could reach it.

  • HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! It`s soo easy when you see it X_X

  • the is a game that is so fun and so tricky that i feel guilty even looking to see how to get some of the pieces, but i just had one more to get and i knew i was close to figuring it out but i just couldn't quite get it and it was piece 8:03 Damn now i wish i tried harder before looking it up here :(

  • 3:54 The hardest piece in the world.

  • out of all the worlds this was the most fun to play!

  • you know what really sucks i couldn't beat the boss battle for crap. did it on accident and solved the world. i came here to see the correct way and feel like a complete idiot.

  • Wow, I'd never have guessed how to get that piece above the door! Thanks for the video!

  • love this game had to get help on the last part stood there for like 30 mins gave in to a walkthrough thanks for putting it up

  • I still cant seem to get the one above the door! My shadow keeps disappearing before he pulls the lever D8

  • its as if they combined prince of Persia and Mario together

  • My idea for the high piece was to get the brown guy jumping from the higher base and THEN jump on him but obviously this was to complicated to realise -_-

  • This is one of the best games I have ever played. On first look it looks like a kiddy platformer, but it is in fact a mathematical masterpiece. There are not many games leave me scratching my head, and producing an "aahhh... now I see" feeling.

I hope they make Braid 2

  • the best world

  • This was the one world I thought I actually understood, but after getting the first 11 pieces in under half an hour, I stared at the piece at 3:54 for at least an hour without knowing what the hell was going on.

THIS GAME MESSES WITH YOUR HEAD.

  • @boymostlikelyto This is totally what I did! I got all the first ones with a little bit of effort and just did not see how the last one was possible. Making you die in order to succeed is crazy!

  • @boymostlikelyto cant say i understood any world, but yeah it really does, i mean ffs it changes the game mechanics for every world, after a session of braid i usually am in a state fit for a straight jacket

  • @boymostlikelyto yeah that one destroyed me.

  • brutal logic i must say! bravo!

  • I am still having problems with the one after the double key. The one he cuts and pastes a bunch of times because he probably also had a hard time with it.

  • That one above the door was killing me..

  • Heres an easier way to get the final piece:

When you enter the world run up the ladder and stand as close to the first door as you can for a moment. Now, run back down the ladder and go up the wall. Kill the goomba and take the key. Finally simply rewind all the way to your entrance into the world and follow your shadow through the first door. Viola!

  • @hommyhom : I like your method better :) It's makes more sense in logically than the 'trick' used in the video

  • montage

  • i couldn't able to beat the final level of this world

  • Thanks, I spent HOURS on these puzzles. You rock! And are a heck of a lot smarter than I am...

  • for the last one- you see the leaves moving slightly don't you? you have to account for wind movement- and the shadow is lighter than the body so it naturally jumps further.

  • DAMN U R FUKING SMART

  • oh my god

  • 3:42 - 3:55 Thank you! I had no idea that I could do that!

  • thank you!

  • At 2:25 THAT'S CHEATING xD!!!

  • i did the same thing haha

  • the last one is BS, i cant believe i wasted 30 mins trying to figure it out!

this game is good but i do agree it makes up the rules as it goes.

  • The point of the game is to lack continuity. Continuity is not important in a game striving to tell a story in a unique manner. Yet I think you are missing the very definition of continuity here as well since there are no previous versions and the story is a one shot. If you are talking about the order that you read the books, then there should be little problem since it is up to the player to piece them together, much like a puzzle. Besides the story is secondary to the mechanics. of the game.

  • key in world 4-7 isn't glitched. It follows the mechanics of the game, you just have to think about it for a bit. You only affect the key while going right. When going left, the key goes back in time, rather than following your movement.

  • Games are allowed to make their own rules retard, so if you don't like it don't play any games ever again. Or better yet make your own and make it have continuity and whatever else you want it to have in it so that it can just be a plain old, completely unorigional, boring ass game that only you would ever play because it would suck so much that it would make people's brains vomit.

  • Comment removed

  • Well say whatever you want..... but to me you have no validity as a gamer. To me you lost the right to judge games by playing runescape...... yeah that game is waaaaaaayy better then this... sure.

  • damn straight :D

  • @gokuxxx88 I Don't understand what is the point.

  • @EddySpeedFingers Me neither. But I can guess it's that "Hate against haters" kind of comment.

  • last one sucks

sadow didnt do the same thing as the guy

  • Here's a simpler way to do the puzzle @ 5:22:

Run under the lower lever and press up. Rewind time and raise the lower platform when your shadow gets on it. It will pull the lever, allowing you to use the upper platform.

  • sorry... time for last post was more around 2:26

  • found a trick... 2:30... instead of making shadow tim bring you the key you can jump with tim and just "wall rub" the left wall... by that i mean keep tapping X and hold left to make tim "rub" the left wall until he drops the key on the ledge... then matrix it back to the key... cheap but if done quickly saves a few seconds on a speed run

  • Part 3:47 WTF never crossed my mind. This game is awsome.

  • !!!!!!! i got all of them except that one! it almost made me break my xbox360!!! lol...had to come and check it out in order to get through it.

  • Thanks a lot! There were two pieces in this world that were killing me. Never thought about sacrificing my own shadow...

  • I can't believe how simple the last one is! all you have to do is make the shadow jump!! I never would have figured it out.thanks for the help!

  • 2:30 GENIUS!!!

  • OMG 2:30. Yes genius. That one was pissing me off and many others. God damn this game is amazing!!

  • BRAID is so f-ing GENIUS!!

    ...but it sure isn't easy^^

  • jaja crap when i couldn't do 3:47 i just felt like shet now i notice that a lot of people didn't figure it out so i dont feel so bad about myself xD

  • The purple ones are so much better then the green cause when you screw up a jump you just reverse it.

  • That bit at 8.01 is really annoying.

The game leads you to believe that if the key opens the door (TOUCHES it) it's useless. So did the key touch the door or not? If it did surely it would be useless and if it didnt then how come the shadow key opens the door?

  • it's true that you have to start over if the key touches the door, so it doesn't, and that your shadow moves around exactly like you (just) did. it doesn't stop in mid-air, however.

  • its affected by the time....

  • this game is fucking frustating

  • 3:47 I've solved all of tghe puzzled up until this point without any help and at a relatively brisk pace but this one had me stumped. I won't cheat again by coming here but I just had to know what I was missing and I never would have guessed to let that guy fall on me like that. I just finished up the world without any further help but I think that one bit would have had me for a while.

  • Me too Daemonocracy, that piece of puzzle, 3:47, was a tricky one

  • this part KILLED me, rofl.

  • Game is too difficult to be considered fun.

  • Are you crazy? That's what makes it fun! Difficult games are fun. At first, I though "Oh, I'm gonna have gamefaqs open the entire game, yay. -_-" Until I started getting the hang of the puzzles and started thinking outside the box, then the puzzles end up coming to you naturally. It just gets more fun as it goes on. Trust me.

  • You'r too dull to consider this fun ;)

  • It's easier on Xbox to defeat the boss, because you need to hit a button to let "things" hit him.

On the pc instead those "things" fall just when you touch them -_-"

  • That's why I use a Xbox controller on mine. :D

  • On the pc you can "pass through" the chandeliers by passing through just beneath them (I'm not talking about the ground.) Although I admit it's a bit harder.

  • @_@

it took me hours to get the first few on my own...now I just feel stupid.

  • i did all the puzzles but i failed on the 3:47 one ;)

by the way the last world (actually w1) was too easy... and i am confused because i dont understand the story at all...

at the epilog only my red books are unlocked, do u need something to unlock the green ones?

  • 8:01 wtf...

  • 8:01

That truly just stumped me. I woulda never thought of that...

  • lol my way to solve this was 1000 times more complicated than this one - but it worked too;)

  • lol, tell me about it. Sometimes I know I just did the hard way but who cares I got it done and other times I just stumbled through a couple puzzles and lucked out. That's what makes this game great go, the puzzles aren't all about thinking, many times they can be solved through intuition.

  • My friend also had a more complicated solution to "fragile companion," one which uses the goomba. My solution was similar, except I jumped off the platform. It was an accidental discovery of the solution!

  • i couldnt get the last piece so i checked this video and i still cant get it, whenever i touch the door, key falls down, if i dont touch it, my shadow wont unlock it...

  • ha, I didn't know what I was doing and somehow i lucked out and got it!!!

  • you have to jump towards the door and reverse time whilst your still in the air because your shadow wont stop whilst its still moving

  • 3:47 unbelievable thanks. 40 yıl değil 10 asır düşünsem aklıma gelmezdi ne zor oyun lan bu :))

  • Dont get teh 5:28 part, You did not go on the bottom platform, but when you rewound you went straight there?

  • Comment removed

  • I got through it in the end. I was just playing it again and i wondered about this vid. Decided to check. I know its been a year but can you shed some light on how that occurred on your video? PS i wouldnt of been able to get through this level if it wasnt for watching this vid. Man this game is just as fun playing it for the second time...

  • so hard

  • it makes me kinda sad to know that most of these puzzles require sacrificing your shadow self. lol

  • 2:29 was the last puzzle piece I got for the whole game. For some reason, it never crossed my mind to savagely martyr my little shadow self until in late-night desperation I realized that the little image before the level had Tim standing right in front of that pit, so I knew that had something to do with it. Solving the puzzle by killing myself just came naturally as I was doing it a lot at that point anyway.

  • 3:47 Thanks!!!

  • Same

stupid me for not remembering that they also jump like that....

  • I'm glad i finally just youtubed this shit this the only one that stumped me and i probably never would have figured this out

  • still don't get the 5^28 moment

  • 2:29 piece had me.

  • ya the 3:46 piece had me, didn't even know you could bounce them from under.

  • Me too... :/

  • i dont know but even with this video i cant get the peace at 6.04

  • You have to spam the B button while you're down on the lower level so that when your shadow rises on the level, he'll be hitting the B button as he reaches the lever.

  • I couldn't figure out the 2 doors with one key thing. I didn't realize the shadow would do things that you didn't (ie keep going through the jump even if you reversed it halfway through). A lot of this game seems to be figuring out the mechanics.

  • You have to spam the B button while you're down there so that when your shadow rises up on the level, he'll hit the B button when he reaches the lever.

  • Comment removed

  • saturnihilist, regarding the piece at 6:04... That's actually not true-- you only want to hit the (lower) lever once, or at least an odd number of times. Jamming the B button could result in your shadow sending the (upper) platform back down immediately. (But if you like to live life on the edge, by all means, jam away!)

  • 3:46. i didn't know it could be done o.O

  • omg what a good game the best downloadble content out there!!!!

  • The last piece for me is that near the right door in Crossing the gap, and i had no idea how to get it, well, now i do! heh

  • DUDE

    This game is HARD

i would have NEVER thought that that was the way you should have gotten the piece near the right door in "Crossing the gap"

    It's awesome

  • The head bounce thing got us all, I think. That's the only one I needed.

  • lol. at 3:47 your way of solving was much better then mine one. i tried like 20 times just to wait for a moment to jump on it to jump higher O_o

  • maniaaaaaaaac!

  • It seems the video was edited. Listen to the music jump at that point.

  • yeah, he mis-timed his doppleganger, so he just skipped ahead so as not to screw up the pacing.

that's my take on it anyway.

  • Epic win for using the word "Doppleganger" in a sentence!

  • hahaha, I'm just glad I spelled it right :)

  • I saw this too, but with a Xbox360 pad connected, this is exactly like the Xbox360 game.

    A mistake in commands I think .

  • wow, this boss is much easier on the 360 version. On the pc version, when you pass one of the chandeliers it automatically drops, there is no action button for some reason.

  • Wait, how does stating a fact make someone an idiot? I am very much interested in how you possibly came to the conclusion that I am one.

  • 5:33 you don't need to do this, juste stand on the plateform without leveled it up, and look up, your shadow will automatically look up and pull the leveler. (sry bad english)

  • 3:52 impossible to find out imo!

  • yeah was the only one i couldnt figure out. haha sux.

  • MY SHADOW DOEST PULL THE FUCKING LEVER wtf????

  • on world 5 how did he do the levers thing?, this is my last puzzle piece

    plaz hlep

  • Watch the video?

  • the only puzzle that's bothering me, is the "fragile companion". I managed to solve it by myself with a similar sollution, but it doesn't seem right. why didn't Tim open the door at first? is it because the "shadow" (or what do you call it) is slightly to the top-right?

  • No. By bluffing the jump you fool the shadow into doing something that you didn't do yourself. It's a time-immune green key, so if you open the door first then the key can no longer be used by you or a shadow you create.

  • That puzzle at the end of crossing the gap really is quite clever. If only the game had made more situations where the enemies would land on your head earlier on, so you'd know that was a possibility.

I"d never had an enemy land on my head beforehand, so there was no way to really guess at that.

  • But the game NEVER includes guesswork! Honest! Even stuff you're not sure will work and is actually a bug in the game engine - not guesswork!

Also pemnently breaking keys and making you restart the level is a good game mechanic.

  • 2:20 - 2:30 WTF ?? :-o

  • I made every puzzle by myself, except third in Crossing the gap. Its tricky, thanks for solution!
