Works great as a media player, bought a stand for my iPad which also is suitable for the Archos 101, just do a search for iPad stand on eBay, also purchase a mini hdmi to hdmi adapter so it easy to carry around and I can use a normal hdmi cable,

My mate owns the Archos 70 which he uses with a Bluetooth gps device and copilot

@Thiggy1342 LauncherProPlus for the most part. And then Signal's23 LPP mods, look up on XDA. Otherwise, I use Desktop Visualizer for placing my icons wherever on the screen. And then some bad ass widgets like SwitchPro, Beautiful Widgets, BattStatt, Simi Clock.

Wouldn't it be 10x more usable when the tablet it self kept showing the image it self too, for easy manipulation. Mouse on a tablet looks idiotic (well for this purpose, I can see very useful uses of mouses)...

@MrSnowCore i wasn't trying to prove anything. i was just showing how Archos handles with being sent out to TV. i will say, hook up a wireless mouse to it and it becomes a full home movie/music system that sits on your coffee table. and surfs the web. and plays Angry Birds. and use ext-HD.

this is the true beginning of tablets all over your house. HDMI out to TV? fucking bonus points.

lastly, i agree with you 100% that it needs dual screen capability. but, that would cost another $150.

@anothersaab I know this is how Archos handles it (and I suppose most Android tablets/phones do this now). I was not giving critique on you, I was merely making a general statement.

And yes, I do think having HDMI out is always (well almost always) better than not having it.

Have you checked the battery life? With normal use (internet, video, documents).

@1977gaet it seems surprisingly terrific. with normal use (and not running any poorly developed apps), i think i could easily get 2-3 days off of it. as far as movies, it was tested by some guy who got 3+ back to back viewings of Star Wars II before it dies. that's damn impressive and spot on to what Archos promised.
