@productionvideos27 It all happened so fast. I was probably going about 30mph, the ski came of at some point during the time from which I went off the side of the trail and eventually came to a stop. There were no trees in my path. My boot going through the ice was the only somewhat logical explanation. I will make a new video soon...

OMG! I cannot even begin to imagine the pain you endured, both physical and mental. You are so strong. It seems you never lost your amazing smile through any of this. It's true. You have more courage in your little finger than the majority of us have in our entire bodies. (That's a fairly awkward comparison, but the best I could come up with right now, sorry.) its crazy man i just broke my collar bone skiing about a week ago and ive been really depressed, but after watching this video i feel alot better and im not saying this to be an asshole, you are stronger than 99.9 percent of the people on this planet. theres probably nothing in life you cant overcome, and that ability is more valuable than all the riches in the world.

Very close to what I went through. However my doctors were able to save my leg, with a muscle graft from my back, skin grafts, 2 bone grafts from my pelvis and an arterial and vein graft. I had both legs with compound fractures of my tibia & fibula. 2 years of physical therapy and also had a collapsed lung and my achilles tendon cut in half to flatten my foot out. 14 surgeries in all. It was 15 years ago to the date. Sept. 1st 1995.

Not trying to 'put you down', honestly, but just wondering if all the extra suffering and (even more) bodily mutilations was a better choice than a 'simple' (wrong word, sorry) amputation and prosthesis. You would have to be super-strong to endure all of that. Plus, I imagine if this had been an option for Wesley the doctors would have at least offered it as an option. I don't think even you have enough information to decide it WAS an option for him.
