  • would you look at that - a Camry with sudden deceleration ;p

  • Call the Camry beige if you'd like, but those numbers are very competitive for the car's intentions.

  • That is actually an awesome low-rpm torque. It is VERY rare to do some wheelspin with these naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder powered asian sedans. Kudos to Toyota!

  • The new suudi drift car :)

  • @attackam lol

  • so this is faster than a tsx wagon. hmm...

  • 16.0 is actually the fastest quarter mile time for an AUTO mid-sized sedan. Only the Sonata manual is faster than it.

Camry might look boring but its performance isnt lol.

  • الله يعينها على الجلنطات اللي بتجيها اذا استلمها الشعب !

  • They need to do a full road test comparison of the SE

  • some how looks older than the last generation. pethatic

  • what a piece of shit lexus

  • chrysler 300m is better

  • VW Golf TSI 118kw can do 0 to 60 in 8.0sec

  • now this car is ugly now lol god bless it

  • looks hideous!

  • loved that last gen... this just looks...boring

  • So sad they got rid of the V6 in the LE model for the 2012 redesign. You have to go up to an SE model to get the V6 now.

  • so boring

  • it looks great!

  • This Car looks to beautiful to get used by these Indis. :D

  • IT's so bland....

  • in front kinda looks like subaru who agrees??

  • It's just a midsize sedan of course it looks bland I prefer this to the ugly sonata but not to the looks of the optima pretty good numbers can't wait for them to test the se v6 too bad no more manual tranny

  • decent performance

  • With everything Toyota makes there's always internet haters. you know a car is great when it gets so much hate and attention. imagine all the fanboys that looked this up and thumbs down the video just because, losers.

  • @enemay It really isn't an issue or hating Toyota. They make good cars, but on the same page, they're just oh so boring to drive. I honestly miss the Toyota of the 80's. My family has had 2 Cressidas, 1 Supra, 1 MR2, 1 1/2 ton pickup, 1 4runner in the late 80's to early 90's era. Then we started switching to Honda because the cars got boring to drive. I fall asleep driving my in-law's Corolla, Camry and Sienna. As for my family, we have 2 Accords, 1 Pilot, 1 Ridgeline, 1 RSX, and 1 ITR now

  • @C25A1guy Hey you know what I currently drive a 07 civic, but when I drive a Corolla,.. well the civic is better handling and better interior, but either way its not so much different,I doubt I’ll have more fun in a Focus either, I’ve also driven a sentra and Mazda3 all feels the same. What I’m getting at is that people go out of their way to hate on Toyota, it’s hilarious. And Toyota does have sporty/sports cars, just in a different badge. Also we have a Hilux (Tacoma) pretty badass I might say.

  • ahhh...the sweet sound of understeer

  • really, but REALLY???? a track test video for the Camry? Who on earth would bother watching it, except for us whom we're bored enough to waste our time. For the love of God....And a Kia Optima looks as if it has come from the future comparing to the Toyota

  • I like more the nissan altima :)

  • EWW that is ugly. I would take the Kia K5 Optima any day

  • it looks good! and that's good performance numbers too. not bad Toyota, not bad at all.

  • The 2012 is posting some pretty good numbers, especially for being one of the most boring Toyotas

Can't wait to see Inside Line's next midsize comparison test

  • Comment removed

  • @Jerzeeboi91 so true!

  • I was falling asleep just watching that. I can't imagine how bad that would be actually driving the staple of beigemobiles.

  • yikes man they fucked it up don't they make the Lexus why did they do this haha!

  • extremely ugly

  • It is so ugly. ew.

  • Some dubstep in the background would be nice!

  • Nice. Elegant.

  • Ugly

  • It looks soo futuristic

  • just because its a family sedan doesn't hurt for it to be a bit of a performer. After all we are human :P (we like to pedal to the metal sometimes) -_-

  • Performance is pretty commendable for a 4-cylinder car of this type. I wish Toyota made a Camry LE 3.5 V6, though. Camry LE's hyper generic looks + 3.5 V6 performance = Sleeper!

  • @JELH they do.

  • @bdub215 Actually, they don't. I checked on the Toyota USA website. You can only have the V6 in the XLE and SE.

  • @JELH They've had one in previous bodystyles including the most recent one. unless it doesnt sell well which id doubt there should be a LE V6.

  • @JELH I don't get sleepers. Why would you spend money on a fast car and have it look like a base model? I say flaunt the power you got under the hood.

  • @JELH Toyota makes LE version of Camry in 4 cylinder is because most customers buy it in 4cylinder form.

  • @JELH they do o,O my mom has one and its got great performance value, hp, torque handling all are just amazing for a car that size

  • @JELH THEY DO ! its called.......a......Lexus

  • Nice Santa- Fe rumbeling in the background :)

  • An SL 65 amg black series with brabus tuning would easily beat this.

  • Looks so generic, what a boat. I'd shoot myself in the leg rather than owning one of these.

  • @BEEMERFAN79 I'm glad you like being handicapped both down there and up there.

  • looks good . especially from the front .

  • Best looking Camry I've seen. As a general car fan I do want to see the performance stats if its available or tested.

  • Looks decent... a little bland (no styling accents that really set it apart).... performance, I guess it's about par.

  • it will be good for arab drifting

  • @Niche79 Nope. The Sonata would be just about it. I too think that's the best looking family car out right now in this class. So what happened to the Accord being the end all be all of family sedans? LOL

  • Honestly don't see whats wrong with it.

  • yawn kinda boring. Besides Hyundai's sonata, is there any other company that can make a cool good looking family car? Seriously, so bland anymore.

  • I love how the haters detest the Camry when it does it's job extremely well. That job is to be an extremely comfortable and capable people and luggage mover. It's great to be in a car for hours and not having to feel all the crappy road surfaces.

  • It's the new vanilla for 2012.

  • At least it doesnt look like ass anymore

  • is it a 4 or 6 cylinder ? the one that they tested

  • @shnto7 It was a V8.

But seriously, looking at the numbers, that HAS to be the I4. The V6 is approx 260hp/tq.

  • Ewwww looks like a coralla I liked the previous model better even though that was a shit box too

  • once these things start hitting the roads, the next 5 years are gonna be horrible for me....they're so ugly

  • They should test it how Camry drivers are actually gunna use it. Like see how good it is at going 10 under in the passing lane and if stuffed animals will stay in the rear window.

  • Please test the se v6! Thumbs up if Edmunds should do it!

  • DID THEY FINALLY ADD ALLOY WHEELS AS STANDARD! toyota and honda are so cheap like that...

  • Pretty good numbers for a 4 cylinder model. Please test the SE V6...

  • sooooooooooooo much body roll

  • I would like to criticize the Camry. Unfortunately, it's too boring to fully despise.

It's sufficient as a car in the same way that lettuce is a sufficient source of nutrients.

  • This car sucks. I will just stick with my Altima.

  • ugly ass car, blahhh toys.... ill stick with my cobalt ss

  • When you have this many haters, you know you're a bad ass!

  • I want to see the 2012 Camry SE V6!!!

  • They need to do the SE. not that its a sports car but its tuned better for this.

  • Love how anything toyota just fills up comments in any blog or here. Haters. Lmaooo.

  • did the interior panels stay put after all that?

  • The Toyota Camry is the perfect average car for the average buyer just like the ipod is, the device to listen to music on or Barrack Obama is, a liar. Why Edmunds feels the need to bring it to their "test track" (really just a Walmart parking lot) is beyond me though.

  • My Gramps Last Driving Test Caught on Camera!!

  • Regardless of how well it performs, still a piece of shit car!

  • Comment removed

  • Handles well!

  • At least the 4-cyl model is faster than the outgoing one.

Other than that, what is the point of this video? It's a Camry.

  • pretty respectable numbers... still an incredibly boring car though

  • just test the reliability and tell us the price...those are the only 2 reasons anyone would even think about buying these pieces of junk

  • That car is like putting perfume on a turd.

  • LE - Low End

  • @teamliquid2 lame edition

  • So if performance wasn't tested, how would you have a point of comparison between different cars? Not that anyone is expecting an M3 here, but if they didn't do handling tests, you wouldn't know how good or bad this car handles when comparing it to say an Accord or Altima.

  • Its still ugly like it has been for the past 20 years

  • piece of crap

  • rubbish like always....

  • Now thats how all you Camry drivers out there should drive!!

  • i laughed at this.

  • It looks like a freakin Acura TSX the second gene. It looks to shitty also. I thought Toyota was suppose to be an unique auto maker.

  • Performance times can be translated into real world situations; Merging on on-ramps, passing on two lane road, emergency lane changes, stuff like that.

  • For a family sedan, it's damn awesome.

    Want a super sedan?

    M5 for you.

  • Toyota Camry LAme Edition :D

  • looks slow as SHIT!

  • that car does not like to be driven fast

  • Needs more altezza chrome in the tail lights

  • hopeless hopeless hopeless

  • it probably has a set of Toyo Proxes...yuck... Put a fresh set of Michelin Anything and those numbers will change for the better, and the noise ill go awa

  • @dickcheese663 arent u the guy who won the FLD t-shirt today

  • @Sandst0rm34 no, i did win commenter of the week like 2 weeks before they started giving away shirts again....i just got a autograph pic...oh well...FLD Rules!!!!!!

  • @Sandst0rm34 oh wait, yesterday im top thumbs up......i was at the UFC thing on Sunday and i saw Rick Ross like 10 feet away, i said BAWUS! he didnt even turn around...i dont even like UFC but it was free tickets and it was like 5 hours long

  • @dickcheese663 lol nice bro, did u know u won the shirt?

  • not bad

  • The front looks like 2011 Subaru Impreza.

  • I hope my life never gets to a point where I would consider this car.

  • Why are these being tested for performance? Waste of time. I always find Camrys going 10 below the speed limit in the left lane not budging.

  • @2Kriss2Kross lol

  • C&D has the V6 SE at 5.8 0-60 and over 100MPH in the quarter

  • @BlackDynamiteNYC whats C&D

  • @sammsmi101 Car & Driver

  • @sammsmi101 Car and Driver Magazine.

  • HOPEFULLY, Inside Line did a full review, and not just the Track Test, which would be.......pretty stupid!

  • Looking forward to seeing this car blocking the left lane being driven slow. Usually an elderly driver...

  • im buying one of these things!

  • You never walk into a toyota showroom and ask the salesman "How fast does the camry go on the quarter mile?"

  • last gen with the mid-cycle refresh looks better...more tasteful and upscale than this mismash of a mess

  • v6 will do alot better

  • ugly as hell

  • Is the video over yet! I fell asleep half through it!

  • Not tryin to hate... but is there a point to finding the performance numbers on this car besides just doing it out of curiosity?

Will anyone ever buy a vanilla family sedan cause it was a little faster than an Accord or something?

  • @t8trg8tr actually its performance numbers arent bad compared to other mid size sedans.

  • @t8trg8tr For promotional purposes.

  • @t8trg8tr

    yes

  • @t8trg8tr Taking performance numbers is perfectly legitimate.

Acceleration power is necessary for general usability; entering the freeway, passing, getting into busy road.

60-0 and handling are things people should take into consideration as they are important for accident avoidance.

  • @t8trg8tr for some people, that 3/10th's of a second is everything

  • @t8trg8tr No, but knowing how shitty it is might get people to NOT buy it, and get something with a little more balls and swag instead.

  • @t8trg8tr Actually yes, they will. Not everyone is looking for a purely sports car or a purely family sedan. Obviously there's a market for it and there's a reason why Toyota offers the Camry with a V6 and not just the V4.

  • I am gonna be honest, it's a family sedan and I think it looks good!

I dont wanna see anyone complain anymore!

  • @BMB063 Look at the Camry everywhere else in the world is getting. Then you're find this is a joke...

  • @BMB063 Sorry but it looks fucking bland and ugly.

  • @BMB063 I agree. I sell them and they are really nice. I have a 2007 and will upgrade mine after the 1st of the year. The car is designed to do everything well, it is just what it is a nice family sedan with good fuel mileage and reasonable looks. If people want style step up and buy a BMW.

  • @sellingtoyotas Or a Kia Optima, Hyundai Sonata, Ford Fusion.
