New at the RE series it seems... At some RE you were controlling professionals, at other points you had simple people with some gun experience.

Really though, its a better game to play when you control professionals, because it gives you a sense that, although still impossible, it's a bit more realistic. I do not even know how Claire managed to kill the Tyrant in RE2...

I'll be interested to see if this can top Left for Dead. the graphics look a lot better in RE5, but it it looks a lot less intense. Resident Evil seems to be more of a horror game. Left for dead is more of an action game. I also wonder about the multiplayer capabilities of this game. I can't see this game having very good multiplayer modes. I could be wrong.

I think Left for Dead is a shooter.

Once upon a time, Resident Evil was a Survival Horror game: you was the poor guy trying to survive hordes of zombies and other terrible "denizens of the dungeon!" who wanted your fresh meat.

Now Resident Evil is still a Survival Horror game, with a difference: you are the lucky guy, who wants fresh meat from hordes of zombies and others monsters who desperately try to survive.

Something like a shooter...(i think Dino Crisis 2 Started all...)

Resident Evil has lost the horror it once had, it has entered a more action oriented position. Left for Dead definitely had it's action but it was very claustrophobic and really felt like a true zombie experience. Resident Evil isn't horrible, it's great, but it's not the survival horror game it used to be. A multiplayer mode has been announced but it will be released later and you have to pay for it (which has made plenty of people angry.) Ultimately, they're both great horror action games.
