Snape lost Lily twice in his life. He lost her friendship because of his pride and then he lost her life because of what he grew up fascinated with. When he saw her dead body, you could tell that it had killed him inside. It's really sad to think that if he hadn't been so consumed by the Dark Arts, Lily would have loved him back. </3

Okay I have to say this: All the James bashing? He was an idiot for most of his time at Hogwarts, but at that point, Lily didn't like him. Severus pushed her away, and called her a mudblood, which hurt her a lot, then turned to the dark arts. She didn't trust him at that point because he was turning into someone nasty even if he did redeem himself later. James apparently 'deflated his head' in his 7th year, you dont really know what he did, but he must have proved himself to her somehow...

Snape caught a glimpse of Lupin transforming into a werewolf before James pulled him back through the tunnel. Snape did not think James was acting nobly. Rather, he saw it as being more of a self-serving act in order to avoid being expelled from Hogwarts, and the incident only made him resent James more than ever.

Snape never had friends. He was mocked as a child. He joins Voldemort to feel important. The only friend he DID have fell inlove with a bully. Then gets murdered. Everytime he see's Harry, or any child, just reminds him that he doesn't have a child of his own. Dumbledore was never really Snape's friend; he seemed to be using Snape to learn about Voldemort. Then Snape has to kill him. THEN he gets murdered, and dies all alone, still loving Lily Potter. And loves Harry too.
