My 05 crv will not chirp but makes quite a good wheel spin for a good 2 seconds off the line. Not bad for a small suv. Transmission is like butter, like new, 8 years later.
have an 02 ex with 230,000 miles on it and i swear it runs the exact same as when i bought it new in November 2002. not to bash on this crv, but mine does shift faster lol.
Hey it may shift better bc my aunt doesn't do any maintenance on this car since it sits mostly. I dont think it has ever had a trans drain and refill or diff fluid exchange.
@xoquixxoqafxo yea you are probably right. my transmission has had one fluid change and i change the rear diff fluid about every 50k because if not it will start to roar. either way, these cars are very reliable.
@shsjr2010 I agree with you! I Have a 2002 lx all wheel D, bought it new, now has 81,300mi, still drive's like new, on harsh roads there is no rattling, a well put together SUV.
No way man, that baja was defintely slower than this, Don't get me wrong, this is slow, it takes like 9.5 secs to hit 60 for this CRV but the baja takes like 10.5 lol Keep in mind the baja is much heavier than your impreza with the same engine and 4 spd auto.
the newer ones definitely appeal more to woman. Im just mad you can't get a stick in the current CRV anymore. I hope Honda does something about the power deficit in the next generation model
Driven so many of these. But what I most enjoyed driving was an 03 Element AWD. Wasn't crazy about the looks but it was a fun drive + the loads of space. Had it home 4 like 2 weeks so I used it to class.
haha amen, its too bad the new CRV isn't available with a stick anymore! As for swapping out the tranny I don't think this transmission would bolt onto my V6 LOL Plus im soo done with 4 spd autos, too widely geared I really want a 5 or 6 spd auto in my next car :)

1st gear is pretty damn high for this kind of power. it would accelerate much better if they made 1st top out around 25

@xoquixxoqafxo most hondas shift crisp and clean lol

Dude, c'mon the baja you drove had to be faster then this. My bro has a '98 crv and my mom has an '08 crv, my '99 impreza obs is faster then both.

@xoquixxoqafxo So the baja didnt have the turbo? It was the base? And yeah my impreza i bet you is faster then this.

@SubieSean
oh no, its def not the turbo, I'd probably like it more but I hear those older turbo engines guzzle premium gas.

Im just mad this CRV also has a 4 spd auto like my Accord but it shifts faster and smoother lol I wonder how quick these are with the MT tho
xoquixxoqafxo 1 year ago
@xoquixxoqafxo
MT in these R a tough find. back when i helped my dad look for CRV's, out've like 30 we'd find like 4 that were stick... Ought to be quicker...
If it shifts smoother, take it for a day or 2 & swap the auto LOL....
