mm...u do too much i think, original drumming is simplest, specially in the start, if u start so hard and thick i think song isn't grovin up, and same groove. Consider that on the original and live the first part is played on a snare without the strainer :)

I grew up in Dublin during the 80s and 90s and loved listening to u2.I practised in my bedroom over and over again to the drum of wide awake in america and under a blood red sky and then again to live aid / self aid / everything else in between. Now that i see this, i could not even come close to being as dedicated and good, but i think this is what i would have liked to be and i thank you.

C'est vrai que l'achat d'une batterie électronique était la meilleur solution car je joue (j'essaye), en decallé des horaires des voisins car étant pâtissier c'est un brin la gallère... Juste 2 p'tites questions: ou as tu appris à jouer et bien que j'ai de la motivation pourai-je reussir un jour sans prendre de cours particulier (mise a part 1 ou 2 trucs sur le net)?

bin il y a beaucoup de batteurs connus qui sont autodidactes.. tu risques de prendre de mauvaise habitudes par contre, qui seront difficiles à perdre une fois prises..c'est le risque. Perso j'ai pris 4 ans de cours, là j'ai arrêté.

Bien tes vidéos Intolight4 ! C'est en te voyant que ça m'a donné envie de prendre des cours ! J'ai déjà fait 2 fois 3/4 d'heure, je te confirme machou14, c'est mieux de prendre des cours. J'ai commencé tout seul sur une TD3, et j'ai déjà quelques mauvaises habitudes, mais heureusement, qui n'ont pas l'air si difficiles à effacer. (j'ai appris seul la guitare, sans trop de problèmes, mais la batterie, ça me semble moins accessible ; à toi de voir)

C'est en regardant cette video, qu'il y a une semaine j'ai acheté une batterie (électronique "merci les voisins"). De plus étant un très grand fan de U2, c'est un réél plaisir de voir jouer un batteur (au fémnin) avec autant de facilité. You can programme a tom on that kit to sound like larrys timpani!!! thats what he uses

She is playing "Roland V-Drums". You can see the logo in the lower left corner. They are electronic; without speakers all you hear is tap-tap-whack. Can program basically any sound into them though, from car-horns to cats meows but I think the volume control is the biggest selling point! Neil Peart of Rush uses them for parts of their live show and his solo.

Great stuff! I stumbled upon your vids and it cracks me up...I heard U2 for the first time in 1980, I was 10 years old. I was in formal percussion training/band at school and I'd get in trouble all the time for tapping at the dinner table. The earth has music for those who listen and those who hear not the music, think the dancers (and drummers) mad. Lower your sticks a little, this will help with timing. You are great and your passion for U2 = MUCH RESPECT.

sl9guitar : this is a Roland td12 with an excellent snare stereo pad (PD120), the mesh skin are really great, it's praticly like hitting a drum (not exactly the same, but pretty close). this drum brain TD12 sounds really great, but anyway a real drums is always better. Here I'm hitting pretty loudly the snare, it doesn't move :)
