@AmericanGMS go arty bc combat engineer is way to risky you might get put in a fucking construction company and build shit all day erdayy. fuck that arty blows shit up and in certains cases patrols and are rifleman so you get a feel for everything

@BEARARMZ to be a pilot you have to be an officer. To be an officer you have to go to college. Which is gay. Well you dont actually have to go to college, but its recommended.

@woLFpaCK03131 pretty high, you fire support for everybody and you go to the field alot. I was stationed at camp pendleton, then deployed to okinawa for the 31st MEU. Heck i even did a tour of duty in Iraq. It was fun traveling I've been to over 14 countries
Arty isnt just the cannoneers, you could be an FO like i was (yutt) and hit the front lines with the grunts to search for targets. In the FMF you'd get attached to an infantry weapons company, if you want action that's the place to be. You could also be FDC, Land Survey, hell you could even be the meteorologist guy lol (i forgot the official title for those guys). Either way, you have many options, all of which are very rewarding in thrie own ways. Msg me if you want more info...
FMF=Fleet Marine Force. If you're in arty you're guaranteed to get deployed, its inevitable. And like i was saying, if you become an FO you're basically a grunt with an 08 MOS. You can get thrown onto a FiST team in an infantry battalion calling for fire. When you go on float you get attached to a weapons company, either on tracks, zodiacs or helos. You live with them in their berthing area, stand in their formations, etc. I was attached to 6th Mar and they even gave us the French Fourrage

@taylor2142 ive only been out for 2 1/2 so im in the IRR (Individual Ready Reserves) But im going back in as active reserve because im going to school now. As far as being a cannoneer....I loved it and hated it. Its a love and hate relationship...expect to get dirty...expect a lot of bullshit.expect to be going on Field OPS to twenty nine palms or whereever your stationed at.but also expect a lot of fun.you wont understand while your in...but once you get out you'll know what im talkin about.

we do mct but who told you you gotta go through ITB or MCT again? once you go through MCT your done...unless you lat move to infantry then you'll have to do SOI....our school is only in Ft. Sill Oklahoma...(AKA the place God forgot).....Arty is fun with those howitzers but my unit is the first active unit to ever have something new in the artillery field...we have the himars now.....we no longer shoot howitzers...at least my unit doesn't.
