  • My grandma used to make stuff called hot slaw. Basically cabbage cooked in little bacon grease with pepper,salt,onion powder and garlic. I bet that would be good with that bacon flavor. Great video as always man.

    The Wine Sauerkraut is raw 'kraut' (cabbage?) with salt, riped in a Keg, flavored with white wine (as far as i know)

    The natural Vitamin C and the salt preserves it for a long time.

    'Choucrout au vin' (sounds real fancy, 'eh?)

    Combined with lowfat corned beef and combined with a 'kosher dill' that sandwich makes a great 'hangover dish' to me.

  • If you were a real kraut, you would know to brown that sauerkraut up, man. I think the reuben is chiefly an American thing. The jews (although I think they were jew yorkers) coined pastrami sandwiches, and that's where others got the idea for the reuben.

    On German Food Websites it is listed as a classic american sandwich

    The Inventor was probably a jewish immigrant from Germany or eastern europe..
