  • Canada: Stable economy, stable ecology, good rules, nice people.

USA: They need oil to improve their economy, No words for ecology, rules are good but i dont see any freedom at all, people are being ignorants, racists, and haters.

    Long live Canada!

  • now thats cruisin speed

  • yay Cumberland

  • @Dzakku Yes, the Land of Cumber.

  • It's driving me crazy that the camera isn't pointed straight. I keep trying to turn my head!

  • beautiful sightseeing tour :)

  • What Road are you in?

  • @marblesgo2works345 The road changes names a few times. (among others) It changes from St.Joseph Blvd (Orleans), Montreal Rd. (Vanier), Rideau St., Wellington St., Ottawa River Parkway and Carling Ave (Nepean).

  • 3:25 you passs my house:)

  • This isn't a drive through Ottawa....it's a drive around Ottawa.

  • dude you didnt drive to kanata, it says that in the desctiption, still an awesome video though, that was a while ago eh?

  • the car at 3:22 has no plates on it lmao

  • Another very cool video from you! Love it, and your choice of music.

  • Love it! Went right thru my 'hood! Where does it start off? it looked like Jock River/S..Barrhaven area...

  • wow amazing video that was done around 2001?

  • hey i used to live downtown lol

  • This would be a perfect video to rub the City Official's noses in about the frustration of non-synchronized traffic lights. Good job!

  • Nice. Not too shaky. I travel that road often and you filmed it at a perfect time. The corner of Rideau and King Edward was under construction for what seems like 2 years. I'm not encouraging speed racing in the city but Ottawa would be a great place to host a Need for Speed game. Manotic to downdown via Riverside drive and the Canal. That would be cool. (On a closed course... of course).

  • Nice! I grew up in Ottawa.Saw a few old haunts as you zoomed by.Cheers & thanks.

  • great vid thats the fastest i seen driving down the parkway fun :)

  • great video!! did you record during the whole drive or did u take many pics??

  • WHAT is that House track playing?

  • This is Star Guitar by The Chemical Brothers from their 2002 album Come with Us.

  • Nice video! This just may have been the best four minutes of my day. I liked watching when you turned left in the wide "loops" (quater-turns?), it was pretty interesting to watch.

The music wasn't bad, I found it suited the pace of the footage.

I live about an hour from there (Cornwall), but I don't find myself traveling the short distance to Ottawa -- probably three or four times a year at most!

    :)

  • ya, you started in ''downtown'' cumberland. thats where im from! nice vid!

  • Thanks. I actually live in Rockland.

  • speeding van on the parkway should get a ticket with this fine video evidence right heere

  • You were almost in Kanata then you gave up??! That's my home town!

  • boring where's all da chill spots at

  • I don't know what a chill spot is, but Ottawa gets quite chilly in the winter. :)

  • who knows the name of the song?

  • yeahh ottawa forever,,, i love ottawa ,,, ive living right now in ottawa but in nov. i will back to mexico :( , i will miss you ottawa so much!

  • 3:18 missing license plate

  • oh wait 6

  • i may be moving there!! how many school busses can you see?

    i saw 5 :D

  • at 2:12 theres and old bus you dont see those anymore

  • Comment removed

  • @mikemike390 Actually, that's an Orion VI, most of them are still kicking.

And there are still a few artics that look similar (New Flyer D60LF) still kicking. They kept the ones purchased in 2007 and 2009 since they're basically the exact same thing as the new ones, but with the old look.

  • @Cogeno The ones that you don't see are the Orion III artics that you see once he hits downtown.

  • @Cogeno Yeah the orion VI pulls out of a bus stop then a second later an orion 3 comes 2 a stop thats what i was referencing, which is a rareity

  • zoomed right past my house haha

  • omg. st.jose is so old =.= the road is so crappy , they need to fix it dammit. :/ wooooohh orleans~~

  • I see your lights are as ill-timed as Winnipeg's are.

  • yup

  • Great Video - what kind fo camera and camera mount were you using? What kind of program did you use to speed it up? Very NICE job!

  • cool vid man. I used to do a lot of sunday drives in ottawa. I would just pick a major street and go till the road ends. It was fun, but one day I was driving somewhere I actually needed to go and someone turned left right in front of me, now I am back on the bus until I find work because I also lost my job.

  • Im just up St. Joseph!

  • is this bank street

  • Nope. Bank street runs north to south. I am driving east to west. The street names are in the description.

  • no its in the Orleans area

  • cool video man. Do another =D Btw, shouldn't you of blurred out the visible license plates or something? Or does it not matter.. just wondering.

  • Dude, that was a long drive.I'm guessing you left somewhere around Cumberland and ened up in Kanata.Cool Vid,cheers.

  • UPLANDS DRIVE!

  • I love this video! GO SENS GO!!! (Next year)!

  • lol, thats funny

  • jeeez that diplomat was a bad driver.

  • wooo!! St Joseph!

  • I love this vid!

I'm grew up in ottawa and now live in calgary.I really miss Ottawa.I've lived and worked all over canada and in europe and Ottawa really is one of the most beautiful cities on this planet.

It'd be nice if there were more vids like this one of ottawa in different seasons or maybe a drive through the Gatineau in the fall.

  • Beautiful city! I love living here.

  • I never realized how green that city is. Trees everywhere

  • 1:18 Right past my house.

  • Were you going through Old Montreal at the beginning?

  • Nevermind. Read the description. 0:35 - 0:54 Love that area.

  • aha yeah that's my area.. House just up tenth line.

  • Beyond cool.

  • Wow how old is this video?! I notice some things that date back to at least 4 years ago...

  • 2:44 qebec

  • Quebec licence plates are very common in Ottawa. In fact, I drive past several bridges to Quebec in the video.

  • go ottawa

  • I miss Ottawa.

  • Hey look oc transpo buss's on the road, what an unusual sight

  • lol

  • lol

  • I love Ottawa! I especially love Colonel By, Queen Elizabeth Way and the Ottawa River Parkway!

  • I couldnt see Carling Ave.

  • I couldn't see much of anything.

  • Yay I live in Ottawa. Great vid. Like to see more like this.

  • vanier looks like shit even in time laps

  • he didn't go through vanier lol

  • 1:36 to 1:54 he went tru vanier on montreal rd to rideau st lol

  • This is an excellent vid, how anyone could think this is seperate vs video is behond me. Please indicate start location and stop for strangers to our fair city.

    Groundhog128

  • Awesome video.

How many photos were taken? What was the intervals of the photographs?

    thanks,

    sean

  • photographs? it was taken with a video camera.. the time was just sped up.. lol

  • Ah Ottawa. Memories. Nice vid, good song.

  • sooo many traffic lights

  • Wow, i really liked it, I'm away from home (Ottawa) and this video really made me smile.. and remember good old days.. thanks

  • good job thanx..dont travel much anymore i like stuf like this!

  • This video has to be pretty old, since it has the older articulated bus at about 1:35 (they've been gone for 5 years now).

  • Nice vid - I used to drive the same route as the first 1/2 of this trip, going from the east side to downtown.:)

  • My great great grandfather lived in Marlborough Township, now part of Ottawa proper. From there my line goes into the US. I've been to Ottawa once before, nice job!

  • Sigh...except for parts of downtown my city is ugly isn't it?

  • I've seen uglier.

This particular road is pretty ugly. I actually regret taking this route. Ottawa has ugly parts, and nice parts, like anywhere.

  • Go Sens

  • why did you delete my french comments?

  • Because my videos have nothing to do with English vs. French, and your comments are offensive to me. Perhaps you can find a more political video to share your views.

  • wish i could get trough vanier that quick

  • You must have taped this a long time ago. When you go from Wellington Street onto the Ottawa River Parkway, you have to go through a couple of traffic lights due to the construction of the War Museum and more. They didn't exist at the time of this film. Still, very cool film. I've driven down those roads so many times.

  • if u pause it at 1:28 you can actually see my house..montreal road/carson :)

  • nice

  • I loved that. It's my hometown. I've been in Tokyo for like 4 years, nice to see home again.

  • this is the awesome

  • i hate ottawa!!!! cause i live here lol

  • ottawa's the best...i love this city

  • Why didn't you turn down Jean D'arc Blvd. and get on the highway? You could have shown the green belt between Orleans and Glouster

  • wow, I had not idea that everyone in Ottawa drives so fast! I wouldn't be able to drive there.

  • I would say the same about your videos, but you don't have any.

  • It,s like yesterday for me. I was in Ottawa in 1989-1990. Remember this road.

  • Actually I drove directly past the Parliament Buildings on Wellington St., but they are on the right and the camera is angled left. This is the same road for the entire video, but it changes names. It is the historical east-west backbone road of Ottawa, but it is quite ugly in the east and west ends now. The route is only interesting because of its historical value. (Think Yonge St. in Toronto)

  • St. Joseph -> Montreal -> Rideau -> Wellington -> Parkway -> Richmond -> Robertson -> Hazeldean -> Hwy 7

  • yeah, the east end sucks

  • Didn't see much of downtown, parliament, the bridges, just mostly outskirt roads.

  • Lived in Ottawa 30 odd years ago before coming back to Ireland, still looks good, brought back some good memories, thanks, all the best.

  • Whoa!! nice vid!! love how i could see the old capital music hall on rideau!!

  • Hey, good job that video is great drunk! sober also good.

  • don't you jsut hate all the lights on St. Joseph.. it takes so long.. lol

  • is that red sign to the right, along the way Grace Hospital along Wellington, it's where I was born.

  • my sister was born there too in 1999

  • Awesome drive. I miss the shitty transpo busses lol. What track was that you used?

  • that's awesome, my place was in the video!! lol

  • Nice Dude, check out my Videos. From M&M Car meets, these are from Last night

  • ive lived here 10 years, never seen one

  • ive never seen a red liscense plate in ottawa hmm

  • Those are diplomatic plates. They show up mostly downtown, especially near embassies.

  • ARUGH! That's freak me out! I can get scare easy if you bump on the front car. same with thing my dad's truck have air bag in and he alway stop NEAR front bumper. i not want hurt from the air bag!

  • so annoying that it's off to the left instead of centred. not as good as my driving video.

  • Ah, my memories return :). In your video I've seen the office I was working in for a few months. Now I'm back to Hamburg, Germany ;). 5 stars from me!

  • Your lens didn't malfunction from shock driving on Carling? Christ, that road forces me to visit Midas weekly.

  • agreed :P.

    Nice video

  • you think carling is bad? you odviously have never been to Prince George BC...the pot holes are so big and so many that literally its better to drive in the winter because they get filled with snow. And its so bad that some potholes(by some I mean like 30 or so) cana take out your tire by bending your rim.

  • You drove right near my house!

I guess Ottawa is full of us lemons, heh.

  • I love this video! Hooray for Canada!

  • Check out my vids.

  • What song did you use for this video? This is an excellent time-lapse video you made!

  • Great Video - and thx for your response !

  • Ottawa is the best place ever

  • sweet man. i lived in ottawa all my life just untill this Oct. you should make a slow motion video driving by algonquin square or something checkin out the chicks haha. It's always a entertaining drive.

  • I second that man. I go to Algonquin. Some are fat chicks, but some aren't and those are the ones I like :)

  • Hey,

That was really fun to watch....nice blend of music and video

  • Good to know

  • *for

  • hey, that was pretty cool. Ottawa!~

  • Cool city you got there. I made one of my town too. Check it out.

  • Nice match of music to motion

  • Yeah, it was good.

  • i saw my house in that

  • what strret(s) is this?

  • drove past my apt buildings:)

  • Wow, I just flashed through my city in 4 minutes.

    Great video!! :D

  • Loved it. Thank you. After awhile it seems like a live-cam on a Hotwheels slot car.

  • Nice to drive thrugh Ottawa so fast, eh

Home sweet home. Thanx for the posting.

  • AWSM but you didnt get to kanata! :-(

  • Who would want to go to Kanata? ;-)

  • i would, to watch the senators.

  • That is a good answer!

  • Fantastic Video. What's the soundtrack?

  • cool! part of that was my drive to school!

  • COOL i drove down part of that comin from lac leamy

  • that was awesome, you drove right past my school lol

  • haha cool you drove right next to my work.

  • Wow, this is a very cool video. Seems like it would be interesting drunk (lol). Not that I'm that interested to try it. But it's cool. 4/5

  • yeeah this is awesome, i visit ottawa all the time. montreal road is near where my grandma lives.

  • Awesome!! I'm gonna do that one day when I have absolutely nothing to do, have a couple hours free time, and probably a quarter tank of gas to burn! lol...

    was very cool though thanks.

  • Now that was very cool! For the next video (in case you're looking for new ideas), how about this time you hit and run a diplomatic car (I hate those bastards).

  • LOL, love this! Brings back some memories of O-town!

  • I really liked this. Where did you start, Orleans? How long did the drive take, roughly? I don't drive, so I have no idea how long that would take. I've had to bus from Kanata to Orleans (and from Orleans to Kanata) and it sure can take two hours to get to someone's house.

But yeah, awesome video. Keep them coming.

  • nice

  • wow u guys drive fast in ottawa

  • I like videos like this, very cool.

  • hey man! I like your videos.. and your taste in music :). What song is this?

  • The song is called Star Guitar, by the Chemical Brothers. Their video for this song is also time-lapse, and inspired me to make this one: http://centripetalnotion.com/media/video/ChemicalBrothers-StarGuitar.mov

  • Chemical Brothers - Star Guitar

Check out the video to it too, it's somewhat pertinent to the content above

  • Hey cool, that Black car had diplomatic plates! Wonder who it was....? Cool visual effect!

  • I'd love to have a licence plate like that. I wish all Ontario plates were like that.
