Canada: Stable economy, stable ecology, good rules, nice people.
USA: They need oil to improve their economy, No words for ecology, rules are good but i dont see any freedom at all, people are being ignorants, racists, and haters.
@marblesgo2works345 The road changes names a few times. (among others) It changes from St.Joseph Blvd (Orleans), Montreal Rd. (Vanier), Rideau St., Wellington St., Ottawa River Parkway and Carling Ave (Nepean).
Nice. Not too shaky. I travel that road often and you filmed it at a perfect time. The corner of Rideau and King Edward was under construction for what seems like 2 years. I'm not encouraging speed racing in the city but Ottawa would be a great place to host a Need for Speed game. Manotic to downdown via Riverside drive and the Canal. That would be cool. (On a closed course... of course).
Nice video! This just may have been the best four minutes of my day. I liked watching when you turned left in the wide "loops" (quater-turns?), it was pretty interesting to watch.
The music wasn't bad, I found it suited the pace of the footage.
I live about an hour from there (Cornwall), but I don't find myself traveling the short distance to Ottawa -- probably three or four times a year at most!
@mikemike390 Actually, that's an Orion VI, most of them are still kicking.
And there are still a few artics that look similar (New Flyer D60LF) still kicking. They kept the ones purchased in 2007 and 2009 since they're basically the exact same thing as the new ones, but with the old look.
cool vid man. I used to do a lot of sunday drives in ottawa. I would just pick a major street and go till the road ends. It was fun, but one day I was driving somewhere I actually needed to go and someone turned left right in front of me, now I am back on the bus until I find work because I also lost my job.
Due to the state of the economy more and more people are starting to sell there properties through the for sale by owner companies. It has grown rapidly in the past 3 years and it seems like it will grow even more faster as the word spreads about how it works. There is a company expanding in Ottawa that helps sellers save thousands of dollars and help sell there property much quicker then most other for sale by owner companies. For more details about it message me. Thank you
I'm grew up in ottawa and now live in calgary.I really miss Ottawa.I've lived and worked all over canada and in europe and Ottawa really is one of the most beautiful cities on this planet.
It'd be nice if there were more vids like this one of ottawa in different seasons or maybe a drive through the Gatineau in the fall.
This is an excellent vid, how anyone could think this is seperate vs video is behond me. Please indicate start location and stop for strangers to our fair city.
My great great grandfather lived in Marlborough Township, now part of Ottawa proper. From there my line goes into the US. I've been to Ottawa once before, nice job!
Because my videos have nothing to do with English vs. French, and your comments are offensive to me. Perhaps you can find a more political video to share your views.
You must have taped this a long time ago. When you go from Wellington Street onto the Ottawa River Parkway, you have to go through a couple of traffic lights due to the construction of the War Museum and more. They didn't exist at the time of this film. Still, very cool film. I've driven down those roads so many times.
Actually I drove directly past the Parliament Buildings on Wellington St., but they are on the right and the camera is angled left. This is the same road for the entire video, but it changes names. It is the historical east-west backbone road of Ottawa, but it is quite ugly in the east and west ends now. The route is only interesting because of its historical value. (Think Yonge St. in Toronto)

Ah, my memories return :). In your video I've seen the office I was working in for a few months. Now I'm back to Hamburg, Germany ;). 5 stars from me!
you think carling is bad? you odviously have never been to Prince George BC...the pot holes are so big and so many that literally its better to drive in the winter because they get filled with snow. And its so bad that some potholes(by some I mean like 30 or so) cana take out your tire by bending your rim.
sweet man. i lived in ottawa all my life just untill this Oct. you should make a slow motion video driving by algonquin square or something checkin out the chicks haha. It's always a entertaining drive.
Awesome!! I'm gonna do that one day when I have absolutely nothing to do, have a couple hours free time, and probably a quarter tank of gas to burn! lol...
Now that was very cool! For the next video (in case you're looking for new ideas), how about this time you hit and run a diplomatic car (I hate those bastards).
I really liked this. Where did you start, Orleans? How long did the drive take, roughly? I don't drive, so I have no idea how long that would take. I've had to bus from Kanata to Orleans (and from Orleans to Kanata) and it sure can take two hours to get to someone's house.
