hey guys im kinda a big noob to model railroading im 13 and just started well almost finished my first layout and i wanted to ask what is a branch line?
so not much trains go on it and no one really cares about it lol and does the branch line and the mainline always run side by side all around the layout?
BTW, many compliments to your other YouTube videos. I was especially inspired by your video on the switching jobs with your center cab switcher. Very realistic operations style that I plan on utilizing on the layout that I'm building. See you on the MRR forum :)
Most enjoyable. Love that Leslie AA2 "honk" horn on the F unit. I'm assuming it's either a BLI or Proto unit with a QSI sound system. Nice job on the double track mainline :)
One of my favorites! As a suggestion, I think that the opposite may be equally or even more interesting, that is, running the train up from the bottom of the frame heading in the opposite direction along the same path. I've always found that to be the most exciting; there is an emotional rush as the train burst out from below.

a branch - other than a main line - has less traffic, less good track, is less important

Track is from Roco, turnouts scratch build, scenery material mostly from Walthers.
