  • This looks like an LNT9000, since I see the configuration is a narrow-nose (the "N") and tandem rear axles (the "T"). "L" is for Louisville series, named for the manufacturing plant of Louisville, KY. The LNT9000 was the 1970 successor to the NT850D and NT950D series.

  • She needs restored, sounds sweet that motor. :)

  • That could be a decent truck if it had a good cab and getrid of the gravity box and put a good dump bed on it. Bad thing is that the cabs on those Ford Louisvilles are notorious for rusting out on the roof around the "gutter" on them.Been there done that on them.

  • That thing is still ready to work

  • At lease you got a bucket if it over heat. lol

  • because of this i subscribed

  • this makes me think y do people say ford fix or repare daily

  • i like how the radio plays diesel's Sausalito Summernight in the background

  • Nice passenger seat!!

  • I love push starts.

  • I like the bucket for the passenger seat lol

  • I got some motorcycle doors if your interested? Lol.

  • I take it the engine is idling too slow. About 500 to 600 rpm will do it justice.

  • u need 2 take a power washer to that interior

  • nice it even has an automatic sunroof.

  • I think that's the first time I've seen a cab roof all rusted out like that; I wonder what caused it, perhaps it was a salt mining truck or something and salt kept falling on top of the cab and caused it to rust

  • That thing sounds mean as hell...

  • cleaning the truck and a little maintenance, and is ready. Greetings

  • WOW! That thing shifts really well. I am not a fan of slip shifting, but it goes through the gears very well with out the clutch. My money would be on that the spliting is done by the auxilary box attached to the back of the transmissions main box. I need to get a truck like that just to use as a farm truck. That thing is great! Didnt know they put detriots in the old heavy duty ford trucks!

  • Is that all that truck can handle, a 300 bushel gravity box? Also, not a 2 speed axle, you "split the gears" in tranny.

  • Hahaha, i like your bucket seats.

  • With the roof fixed and cleaned up inside I think you would have yourself quite a nice truck

  • seems to run quite well; what happened to the interior?

  • @bj99ful the roof was rusted out and wind blew it half off during a storm, happened before we got it

  • @73GMC1500 must have been one hell of a storm~! Not many Detroits in these L series Fords it seems.

  • DONS TRUCKS FAIRBANK IOWA

  • what happent to the inside of that truck

  • GHOST TRUCK !

  • That thing is awesome. FORD...FOUND ON the ROAD DEAD my ass. That thing aint never gonna die!!!

  • @msgais you got that right man!

  • @msgais Yeah, Because its powered by General Motors!!

  • @Detroit12v71TT yesBEFORE gm meant Government Motors lol

  • That's because of the Detroit.

  • are u driving on ur own land?

    has it been underwater?

usually interiors only get a layor of mud if they have been drowned before!

  • man for a pos that thing runs great

  • This thing is awesome, it looks like someone was using the cab as the dump bed.

  • I like the bucket seat.

  • Is that even road legal?

  • @1234niall Obviously not, it would take a lot to get it back on the road

  • Comment removed

  • Clean one owner!

  • why is the inside so rusted?

  • I Like the water pipe cup holder and the 5 gallon bucket passenger seat. Nice toy.

  • well done for a younger guy

not easy to shift unsyncronized transmissions

  • Love the sound of that Detroit!

That push button start is different. Never seen that on a big truck.

  • The State cops would love to see that at a truck check point!!! LOL

  • WHAT A RAG !!!!!

  • so you dont have to use the clutch to shift ?

  • naturally aspirated detroit...what a dog. lol

  • All 238 HP... a lot more nuts than the 3208 which has a 7.17 rear (hits governor at 52 MPH). This detroit will pass 60 MPH and it's not out of RPM.

  • he should fix it up seems to have potential

  • lol a bucket for a seat

  • botles in the cab are dangerous,if them finish under the break......

  • cool looks like like its been run hard and put away wet

  • what body u got on the back of that thing

  • 萌え☆

  • nothing like the smell of detroit diesel in the morning.

  • That truck looks like a lot of fun!

  • do u kno what song started playing at 1:20 on the radio or anyone on here have a clue?

  • Sausalito Summer Night by Diesel

  • dude that thing is rough

  • hey man u should get some sweet outside drive by vids of her when ya get the chance nice shiftin

  • thats an environmentalists worst nightmare haha

  • what speed is it

  • what are you gonna do with it

  • Nice cab roof! LOL

  • I'd have fun driving that around and listening to the 671 all day

  • LOL, tell me about it - it would make a good daily driver - HA

  • awesome job gear jamming ... you got to get another video!

  • Ya you can. But if you don't know what you're doing you will knock the tranny out in a hurry. I shift w/o on my F250 a lot but on the F150 its harder because the trans is light duty, gears are smaller, has a smaller "window" to drop it in gear.

  • Yeah if you don't know what you're doing it's going to break stuff or wear out the synchronizers.

On a transmission with close gears it's a lot easier. And the truck transmissions like this will "suck" the shifter into gear.

But you can still break stuff on these transmissions if you're pulling a big load and get your timing wrong - IE let off the throttle too early or late and yank it out of gear.

  • ok so like u cant do that with a regular light duty truck but does it mess up the trans? at all

  • ok i thoght u was suppose to still shift with a clutch ?

  • Most people don't. Its easier to shift w/o the clutch.

  • was it in a flood still love the 671

  • Put a better cab on it, junk the gravity box. I'm not sure what we'll ever do with it though, grain hauler maybe?

We want to regear the GMC topkick and put a flatbed on it and haul scrap with it.

  • remember wind her up tight !So she won't load up thats the Detroit way!

  • Thats an interesting tranny!Maybe its a super 10.Those are air lines to the valve selector.

  • Ford 9000 vs GMC topkick? tug a war?

  • It wouldn't even be close since the Ford is tandem axle with diff lock and the GMC has one drive axle and no lock.

  • oh yes I see

  • Your Ford Louisville is a model LNT9000, which in its inaugural year of 1970 had replaced both the NT850D and NT950D.

  • wow they sound awesome.

theres a video on here of one with straight pipes and hes going through all the gears floorin it, sounds badass

  • very nice man i would like to see it in person i like it

  • Glad 2 C thats where my child support is goin!!!!

  • I was wondering when the roof was going to fly back! At least the radio didn't go with it!

Looks like it'd be a decent truck if the roof could be fixed and the interior cleaned out.

(I had no idea they put an FM radio in those. My grandpa has a very similar truck--gas engine though--with a Philco/Ford AM only radio in it.)

  • It has an AM/FM/cassette., however it isn't FM stereo since it only has one speaker.

  • nice man, you need to take that straight pipe on that ford, those old detroits will scream with a straight pipe

  • never seen a dash thats so dirty haha cool truck anyway

  • My dad basically got it for free because the co-op was supposed to junk it.

  • sweet truck man u gotta get some drive by shots form the outside of u guys goin threw the gears

  • Comment removed

  • sweet where did u get that?????

  • nice truck, how much you pay for it

  • Love the sound, puts a smile on my face seeing theise old trucks still running. Nice driving too!!

  • That sound puts smile on your face! Nice vid!

  • redneck sun roof ahahaha

  • the whole thing looks like its about to disintegrate into a oile of dust, lol. Suprised it even starts and runs.
