"Dirty Mind" Memoirs of a Geisha

From what I understand there is a lot of controversy over the book and film Memoirs of a Geisha, but back then mizuage was sold, I believe. Sayo Masuda's mizuage (if I remember correctly) was sold many times, seeing as she faked it, etc. It became illegal to sell Mizuage in 1959, which was after the fictional character Sayuri sold her Mizuage. Even now a Maiko may sell her Mizuage, though she has a choice in this era.

I loved the book, and I really don't think that Nobu only wanted to see Sayuri naked, he really had feellings for her. He was the best one for her, in my opinion. When Sayuri and Mameha gave him the rice cakes he had a weird reactions to it. He was not interested on her Mizuage.

The man who wrote this book wrote it based on a little teeny bit of what Mineko Iwasaki, Whom he interviewed, told him. Then he published lies. As a retaliation she wrote her own book. "Geisha of Gion" This is the real story...Now, I'm not saying this book wasn't good, and that I didn't like the movie, but all must understand that it is complete fabrication. Just...FYI.

I don't know about the movie but in the book nobu was a kind men... Eaven the most ugly of all in the earth he was super nice to her and he was in loved...

He was kind, but he also had a nasty side. Like the part when the guy asked to be Sayuris Danna, and he didnt get to be, then he asked for a one-nighter, and Nobu got angry at Sayuri, and the time when that guy in the military became he Danna

All of them have xP but I think he got angry because he didn't want any man (except him) be sayuri's danna (jealous can change much things -.-')... I don't know... XD I just can tell with totally sure that the book is awesome O.O

thank you!! i know it's a little bit 'different' as a vid ;] i definately recommend the movie - it has some big faults but it is beautiful and the acting is great.

This was amazing, really! Most of the speech clips work really well, although you could have removed the unclean ones. The cross-fades were amazing, and you kept a certain theme throughout the whole video, which is certainly a good thing.. But I have to disagree with you on the Nobu part- I had the impression (at least when reading the book) that Nobu actually fell in love with Sayuri. It was never about the mizuage nor the sex appeal.. Anyway, a 5-star video =)

yeah with nobu there is a question mark... but the way that he behaved towards her was pretty controlling and very jealous, and he didn't really know her inside, he was only in love with her as sayuri the geisha. whereas the chairman was truly selfless and understood her more truly, i believe =]
